My guess is there is going to be 1000’s upon 1000’s of ladies like Tammy Bruce who will Vote for George Bush on Tuesday.
The simple answer? It means youíre a confident liberal, a thoughtful person who realizes that game of party loyalty takes a back seat to the safety of your family and this nation.
Could not have said it better myself as safety of family is everything. All the other issues? They are indeed “luxuries in the face of a world war where the enemy is a stateless savage who hunts children and cuts off peopleís heads.
If you asked John Kerry, he would tell you that the war in Iraq is a diversion, and that we are losing the war on terror.
Both of these attitudes reveal the extraordinary ignorance of John Kerry on the war on terror. In Richard Miniter’s new book, Shadow War: The Untold Story of How Bush Is Winning the War on Terror, (published by Regnery) he seeks to answer “three vital, unanswered questions of the War on Terror”:
Perhaps the biggest fallout of success in fighting the war on terror is the inability for Americans to see the successes as they happen. This explains quite well why Richard Miniter’s book is titled Shadow War and why this book is so important for people to read in order to understand how we are winning the war on the terror, and America’s growing partisanship and complacency towards terror is an unfortunate byproduct of that success.
As the book explains, “there have been many clandestine victories against al Qaeda,” including the capture or killing of over 3,000 al Qaeda operatives in 102 countries since September 11th.
Miniter also helps put the war in perspective. “Afghanistan is far bigger than most Americans realize,” Miniter tells us, explain that if you superimposed Afghanistan on a map of the United States, it stretches from “Washington D.C., to New Orleans and from Cincinnati to Atlanta.” Miniter concurs that there is no evidence the American or allied troops “let bin Laden get away,” as Kerry’s politically motivated rhetoric suggests.
Miniter’s book also debunks the myth that the Bush administration wasn’t giving the terrorism threat their full attention before September 11th. What most people do not know, and liberals like John Kerry are sure to ignore, is that the National Security Council approved a plan to strike bin Laden on September 4, 2001. The plan had been in the works for months, in response to mounting intelligence reports of a pending attack on America.
Shadow War is an incredible book which will enlighten the reader to just a few of the successes of the war on terror that never made the headlines. Miniter has traveled all over the globe to the frontlines of the war on terror, interviewed intelligence sources and reviewed intelligence documents for this book.
I was fortunate enough to sit down with Richard Miniter during the Republican National Convention were we discussed the paperback release of his book Losing Bin Laden, as well as several points and topics he discusses in Shadow War. Buy the book and read it, because the next time someone tries to tell you we’re losing the war on terror you can tell them, “No, we’re winning the war on terror, and here’s why…”
I also strongly advise you to listen to my interview with Richard Miniter from last month.

The other day I began reading “Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy” by John Fund. A rather shocking book that details the vulnerabilities of our voting system and the tactics of cheating. Fund warns that are voting process is “so sloppy that at least eight of the nineteen hijackers who attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were actually able to register to vote in either Virginia or Florida while they made their deadly preparations for 9/11.”
Mr. Fund notes that while both parties have had a history of trying influence the voting system, Democrats are more prone to cheating because their target constituencies are more apt to participate in election fraud because of their ability to influence poor people and their party’s appeal to illegal immigrants. Even RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie’s letter to DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe suggesting that the two parties “work together to protect the integrity of the election process” was rebuffed.
The painful reality of cheating exists in this years election. I’m worried about it, and Hindrocket over at Powerline notes current irregularities in Ohio, focused around the absentee ballot efforts by the liberal leaning NAACP and blatently anti-Bush Americans Coming Together (ACT).
While Democrats tend to approach elections with the goal of increasing voter turnout (even if it means illegal votes) while Republicans are inclined to make sure the voting process follows the letter of the law. The latter process often being smeared by Democrats as “disenfranchisement.”
This book is frightening and enlightening. It makes me incredibly concerned about this coming election, especially since John Kerry has set his sights on the presidency since his youth. You really ought to read both “Stealing Elections” by John Fund and Hugh Hewitt’s “If It’s Not Close They Can’t Cheat“.
Make no mistake, we cannot afford a close election this year. Bush’s reelection is too important to let John Kerry have any opportunity to contest it.
I received an advance review copy of “Unfit For Command” this week, and have read it cover to cover. I started reading it as publicity for the book was mounting, and at least one revelation in the book (Kerry’s alleged Christmas in Cambodia) was proven to be true, causing the Kerry campaign to “clarify” his past statements. This gave the content of this book exponentially more credibility, which increased my attentiveness to detail in the course of reading it.
The book is divided in two parts. Part I discusses Kerry’s service in Vietnam and was based on first hand accounts of many swift boat veterans who served with Kerry at one point or another, as well as commanding officers.
Part II revolves around Kerry’s anti-war activities upon returning to the United States after receiving his third Purple Heart. Much of the content in Part II has been discussed in the media, in other books, and the blogosphere previously, but does include some details ñ including accounts by Vietnam POWs who were made known of Kerry’s antiwar activities while in captivity.
The book begins with the story of a Swift Boat Veterans Reunion in 2003, which sets the stage for the rest of the book. Kerry had made a cameo appearance at this reunion, complete with a film crew entourage. Kerry was eager to position himself in the spotlight, pushing aside fellow Swiftees in order to be front and center for a camera shot. Fellow Swiftees were asked to participate in Kerry’s video, with most declining ñ with good reason.
Kerry disappeared from the Reunion after getting the footage he needed, skipping the memorial service for the Swiftees who died in Vietnam.
Part I goes into many stories of people who served with Kerry who felt unsafe around him for bad decision making and jeopardizing the safety of his crew more than once, which not only resulted in Kerry being transferred to different units but also him being asked to leave Vietnam after his third Purple Heart. Kerry was also one to flee at the sign of danger – only to rejoin his fellow trips after hostilities had passed.
The accounts of Kerry’s service in Vietnam as written in his personal journal vs. the recollections of those who served with him clearly indicate politically motivated fabrications by Kerry.
In the Kerry biography, Tour Of Duty, it is written that former commanding officer Rear Admiral Roy F. Hoffman, USN (Retired) praised alleged war crimes that only Kerry seems to recall and claims Hoffman was recommending medals for such actions. Hoffman denies this and other officers back him up.
Kerry would later contact Admiral Hoffman by telephone at his home (before announcing his candidacy) to ask for assistance in his upcoming campaign. Hoffman obviously refused. In March of this year Hoffman was again contacted by Kerry. This time Kerry had locked the Democratic nomination he was aware that Hoffman was organizing with other Swift Vets in order to reveal the truth about Kerry’s service. Kerry would then bribe Hoffman with an offer to revise his biography, Tour of Duty, which Kerry admitted was unfair to Hoffman, to be more accurate, in exchange for Hoffman to back off his efforts with the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth.
These are just a couple of stories contained in the pages of “Unfit For Command.” They reveal dimensions of John Kerry’s fitness and character that he does not want you to see. Without revealing more incidents described in the book, I have to say that the content is shocking, and as we’ve seen the Kerry campaign yield to the truth about his Christmas in Cambodia fabrication ñ which was exposed in this book, the content is bound to be taken more seriously as well as receive more scrutiny. I however believe that the book will stand up to the scrutiny and I hope that this will cause the Kerry campaign to address the real issues of this campaign, such as the war on terror, as opposed to dwelling on the war in Vietnam.
I recommend you get this book.
It seems like the best way to become a media darling is to write an anti-Bush book. The media might focus their attention on those books, America appears to be focusing on pro-Bush/Republican books.
A quick check of Amazon.com’s Top 100 shows that pro-Bush books are hot items, while the anti-Bush books are collecting dust, ready to meet their fate on bargain book racks in the vestibules of bookstores across the country.
…and currently hold thing #1 spot is Unfit for Command, a book where veterans who served with John Kerry tell their story.
Looks like America’s doing a lot of reading… Are you?
