The Burglar Still Hasn't Taken A Polygraphy Test

How has he gotten away with this???

Two years after agreeing to a polygraph in a plea deal, former National Security adviser Sandy Berger still has not taken the test, prompting 23 Republican Congress members to demand action by the Department of Justice.

The aim is to determine "what documents were stolen and how our national security was compromised," said the letter by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., to the acting attorney general.

Berger – who was placed on probation, fined $50,000 and stripped of his security clearance for three years after admitting he took classified documents from the National Archives – reportedly is advising Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, but the New York Democrat insists he has no official capacity.

Throw him in jail.

"Throw him in jail."
I agree. Put him in a cell with Scooter Libby, another convicted felon.

Casper. He made his deal. If he hadn't, he would be in jail. If he's ignored it - then yes. it's jail time. He also had a reckless driving incident that nominally broke his probation but was ignored.

Hillary is 'forced' to keep Berger in the fold, as
this is "Payback for him stealing incriminating papers as per the Clinton's". This is their modus
apperendi(sp) when they want to SILENCE someone who could expose them. I for one of many, want to
see exactly what papers he removed, as these papers belonged to the "American people"-NOT THE
CLINTON'S OR BERGER. HE should be forced to take
the lie detector test-No Matter What Slap On The
Wrist He Got.

If you want to see HOW the Clinton's operate-check
out this site, and you will understand:

Casper, you're comparing a man who was convicted of lying about a crime that was never committed to a man who was caught with his pants down, while he was stuffing highly-classified documents into them. It's obvious that you've never held a TS security clearance; then again, one isn't required to hold one in order to indocrinate young minds, is it?

What I see is two men who have broken the law who get out of jail time because of their connections.

Casper's "explanation" explains nothing; he's only disrupting the conversation. I suggest ignoring him.

Back to topic: I'd assume that taking a polygraph test was an express condition of Berglar's probation, and that the judge imposed this condition at the Justice Department's request. If true, and if Berglar's failure to take the test is now a violation of that condition, then I'd expect Justice to at least give Berglar a drop dead date for the polygraph, with the promise that if he misses the date, it will ask the judge to revoke probation, impose jail time and permanently revoke his security clearance. Why would Justice demand a polygraph test as a condition of the plea deal, and then 2 years later go, "Oh, never mind"? Are the bureaucrats there that spineless, or has something changed in 2 years that would make a polygraph test a "bad idea"? That's what I don't understand, and would like answers to.

Sandy Berger is guilty, there is no question about
that. His behavior was a disgrace. No arguement.

However, the polygraph test is the worst sort of
quackery. No way would I use it for anything, let
alone something of this importance.

And Scooter Libby didn't get out of jail free for perjury and obstruction? And Cheney didn't use HIS connections in behalf of Scooter? The Bush family never used their connections to scrub W's record with the Texas National Guard? Why do you think Cheney was never put under oath during his Grand Jury testimony in the Valerie Plame outing?

Hello- that is what people on both sides of the aisle with power and influence do--- they use it.

I don't want to sound like some conspiracy theorist, but Burger knows the Clinton's game. I would not be at all surprised if he has some of the stolen documents hidden, just in case something might happen to him.

kritter, you, as usual, completely miss the point. The "lying" of Libby was something that routinely occurs in every accounting of every event---a conflict of memory. A decision was made by the court that this could only be considered perjury. Yet no crime was committed, or even alleged. So Libby was convicted of lying about something that was not important enough to prosecute as a crime---and will spend the rest of his life with a felony conviction on his record. He was not pardoned. You do realize that, don't you?

Berglar, on the other hand, did not simply have a different recollection of events, he purposely and repeatedly used his status and security clearance to raid classified archives, steal, and then destroy classifed records---very probably in what was a REAL obstruction of justice. Destruction of evidence is such, even when said evidence is not classified.

And violation of probation is violation of probation. If he had been sentenced to wear pink undies and failed to so, he would be in violation of his probation. So why is he getting a pass?

Hmmmm--could it be that a lie detector test might lead to a better revelation of what he stole---and why he stole it---and who he was protecting when he did so?

BTW, polygraphs are not 100% accurate but can be, if adminstered properly, be a valuable tool in finding out the truth.

"Hmmmm--could it be that a lie detector test might lead to a better revelation of what he stole---and why he stole it---and who he was protecting when he did so?"

This is undeniably true, Almiranta, though I'm at a loss to understand why the Justice Dept. would have demanded the polygraph test as a condition of Berglar's probation 2 years ago, and then completely lost interest in enforcing it. If the demand was sincere 2 years ago, what's changed, or are they just spineless?

If you have ANY doubts about the criminality of the Clinton's I urge you to take some time
To See The Video For Yourselves- please go to:

Google Video: Obstruction of Justice-"The Mena
Connection"

and then ask yourselves WHY, these criminals are
STILL trying to run America, and WHY don't the
people of America KNOW ABOUT THIS VIDEO AND THE GOINGS ON HERE? AND SHOULDN'T THIS BE MADE PUBLIC? SO AMERICANS CAN DECIDE ABOUT THE CLINTONS

Posted by: Jo at October 14, 2007 01:51 AM

Jo, the Clintons are irrelevant until, and if, Hillary gets the nomination. There will be time then to discuss the ongoing criminality of the Clintons. But as long as Hillary is just another Senator, there is little to be gained by delving into her sordid history.

BTW, the party is aware of much of this history, though many Dems have bought into the Hillary-As-Victim meme they worked so hard to create when she entered politics on her own. So her popular numbers are high, while the party is very hesitant about her prospects. Her group keeps saying she would have the best chance to win, but those in the know know she will have huge hurdles to overcome once she is in the spotlight, alone, as the Dem candidate, and it makes them very nervous.

JPL, the so-called Justice Department is a mystery these days. No one can really understand why Sandy was given such a pass on such an important crime, why he was treated with kid gloves, why he got such a ridiculously light sentence, why the Agenda Media skimmed over it (OK, we do understand that...) and now why at least two violations of parole are being treated so casually.

Spinelessness could be an answer, but why would they have anything to fear from a mere private citizen? Unless, of course, he still has powerful political connections. POssibly even the kind of connections with reputations for steamrolling over any opposition.

Who knows whose FBI files are still in whose hands?

Hillary's new tactic of dismissing inconvenient questions with a cackle came under discussion, to scathing reviews I might add, so she seems to have replaced the cackle with s smug dismissive smile. At least this is how she handled the questions about Sandy being an advisor. But you can see her point---why break up a winning team?
