Here's what she actually said:
"We cannot strengthen our own military -- even the chairman of the joint chiefs today again in an interview said that the military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq are weakening our ability to meet other challenges to our security. Afghanistan, we have to be there. That's where the terrorism began, that's the fight we have. Iraq is not the war on terror."
If you had bothered to quote the preceding three sentences of Pelosi's comments, you would see that she believes that our presence in Afghanistan is necessary to fight the source of terror, Iraq is a misuse of our limited resources.
Isn't it funny how two weeks ago you whined about Rush Limbaugh being taken out of context (he wasn't, but that was your claim), yet now you willfully take Pelosi out of context? Do you even try to be consistent in your thoughts and actions, or is everything for you a simple equation: Republicans good, Democrats bad? How dumb are you? (Wait, don't answer that last one, I think I already know...)
bin laden and al queda disagrees with her.
The deluded liberals will ally with anyone who claims to oppose Bush. Its been cute in the past when they harp and twiddle on about how we should be more like France, but this sidling up to the Islamofascists is very disconcerting. I wonder if they truly realize what is at stake here? Liberals think they are the ones who love this great country. Since they are united with the Islamofascists in their hatred of President Bush it stands to reason that Liberals believe the terrorists also love America! It is high time for a rising force of soulful prayer, trust in our courageous President, and the willingness to go long into the night in order to save this country from the Liberals who worship the Golden Calf of Islamofascism!
Bbbbwwwwwhhhhhaaahhhaaaaa!
ROTFLMASO
You stated "Is Nancy oblivious to the fact that Al Qaeda is in Iraq? I doubt it."
Don't want to nit pick but nit pick I will. Your argument holds no water. Al Qaeda in Iraq was only significant after the American invasion. So go find some other way to crap on Nancy
Al Qaeda in Iraq was only significant after the American invasion - canuckguy
Yes, and let me point out again, for the millionth time, to the learning disabled. We invited AQ to Iraq to battle them there, instead of here, and you may remember someone else saying that 5 years ago.
By deposing Saddamm we created a battleground to fight AQ, and to establish a beach head for democracy in the ME.
I am beginning to think that liberals are not just dishonest, but rather stupid and learning impaired.
BTW, the recent election of an Indian descent minority to the Governorship of Louisiana who happens to be a Republican, is HUGE. Coupled with Ogonowskis strong showing in MA, the Dems should be a little worried.
....the focus was largely on what some saw as Tsongas's disappointingly small margin, amid growing worries that the Democratic-led Congress was going off its rails.
Al Qaeda in Iraq was only significant after the American invasion.
This is a common complaint, but it actually contradicts Pelosi's statement, since it at least acknowledges that the terrorist organization AQ is indeed in Iraq, and thus implies that what's going on in Iraq is part of the WOT.
By deposing Saddamm we created a battleground to fight AQ, and to establish a beach head for democracy in the ME
Actually, the Iraqi constitution is based on Islamic law. Read it yourself. The law of the land is sharia. some freedom.
We invited AQ to Iraq to battle them there, instead of here, and you may remember someone else saying that 5 years ago..
Gee, and all this time I thought it was to go looking for WMD.
The bulk of violence in Iraq comes from Iraqis opposed to an invading, occupying force.
And the hubris and arrogance of the USA to decide that Iraq would be the battlefield, to the detriment of Iraqi's and their infrastructure.
And the hubris and arrogance of the USA to decide that Iraq would be the battlefield, to the detriment of Iraqi's and their infrastructure
Great post!!!
The US presence in Iraq is nothing less than an act of pure Imperialism. By Bush's own admission, we are there to stay. We'll see to what extent this is really about democracy if/when any future Iraqi government asks the US to pack up it's 'enduring' bases and leave.
And it is this type of attitude to the Middle East that kicked off Al Quaeda in the first place and keeps it strong and growing.
A deep resentment to an occupying nation in THEIR country.
As ye sow...
Hey! BuyRubles is back! Hi dippy, where ya been? Doin' your camel?
Tantra - define Imperialism, its ten identifying characteristics, and then explain how America meets those traits.
Here's your chance. You can rant, or explain yourself.

Let me ask you this...see if your argument holds water.....what reason did we have of going to Korea in the 50's and the last time I checked we still have a HUGE presence in Korea 60 years after the fact. Oh and when did the treaty get signed in Korea?.....last time I checked it hasn't been there is just an agreement not to shoot each other anymore. But I assume that was okay though cause it was a Democrat President that did that for us.
War isn't pretty war sucks but at times it is necessary and it wont end until we get a victory, your side says we cant win so your telling me that my brothers in arm's are incapable of beating a lame enemy that can't even come out of the shadows long enough to face them like a real man, kinda like a Democrat come in around the corner lob a few rounds then run and hide.
Your killing me cause I can see this if GWB hadn't gone to Iraq or Afghanistan and we had sat on our hands after the "intell" that even the Dems said was good and credible as far back as 1998 when your daddy was in office you would be saying Impeach Bush cause he isn't doing anything to save us from the big bad terrorist would surely have been back after 9/11 had we not. Cry "Where are the WMD's" all you want get over them. Were there
and you or no one can change it at this point to include the chosen one Hitlery who has said she cant even promise to take the troops out with in the first term of her presidency if elected.
I await the attack I am sure you will mount call me names if you like I have thick skin it came from serving the country I love and being willing to die yes even for people like you.
bin laden and al queda disagree. Thank God President George W. Bush is our president.
tantraman,
Are you ignorant, or are you choosing to ignore the fact, that since 2003, the UN Security COuncil has passed a Mandate to provide for the Multinational Force in Iraq. It was recently extended until August 2008.
Are you ignorant of the fact that the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, told the Security Council that "while Iraq will always be grateful for their liberation from an absolute despot, no Iraqi government official, indeed no Iraqi citizen, wants the presence of foreign troops on Iraqi soil one day longer than is vitally necessary. But today and for the foreseeable months at least, the presence of troops is vitally necessary not only for Iraq but also to safeguard regional security and stability."
Are you ignorant of the fact that after the Multinational Force in Iraq ends its mandate, the duly elected government of Iraq is interested in entering into a mutual security agreement with the United States.
It appears to me that the Iraqi Government does not believe that the Multinational Force in Iraq is an occupying force and deeply resents them "occupying" their country.
And it is this type of attitude to the Middle East that kicked off Al Quaeda in the first place and keeps it strong and growing. - idiot
Jimmy Carter, because of his inept dealings with Iran, is pretty much solely responsible for the current Islamic extremist movement. Not that your little mind could even comprehend that.
The bulk of violence in Iraq comes from Iraqis opposed to an invading, occupying force. - idiot savant
So that's why they kill each other? Keep in mind there have been ten times the number of Muslim casualties as opposed to US casualties. So what you're in effect saying is that because the US invaded Iraq, the Muslims decided to kill each other. Now don't you feel like the idiot you are? Or do you actually believe that?
buyrubles? Where are ya? I heard you had a fight with your goat. You should know better than to mess around with your camel like that.
Tantra? No reply to anyone? OK - well we're all waiting breathlessly for your next mindless and America hating rant. Get good and drunk first, that way we'll know its really you.
Canuck guy..don't have to..San Fran Nan is doing a super job of crapping on herself....Roflmao....
Come on Byzantine, how bout some more.
I've been shining up the golden calf. That was great.
Harry Reid-tard said today, in a news conference, that the fires in Mexifornia were caused by global warming. Six minutes later, when questioned about this comment, he denied having said it.
And this is the guy who replaced Daschle...
tantruman says: "Gee, and all this time I thought it was to go looking for WMD.."
I'm sure you did, tantrum. I'm sure you did. You and your fellow Lemming Left have never had the intellectual honesty to stop that whine, no matter how often it has been debunked. So I am sure you still "think" that.
And then he whines about the : " "hubris" and "arrogance" ...of the USA to decide that Iraq would be the battlefield, to the detriment of Iraqi's and their infrastructure."
As IF Iraq has not gained anything in this conflict. AS IF they would prefer to be back in the benign glow of Uncle Sadaam's reign. Yep. tantrum, you just keep dishing out the silliest of the silly old laments of the radical goofball Left, and then you can whine about being treated with such scorn.
Kahn, tantrum can't possibly give you ANY idenftifying characteristics of imperialism, 'cause he don't know any. He just listens to Ranty Rhodes and her ilk, sops up the hate, wallows in it, grabs onto a few feeble talking points to dish out here, and feels like quite the political pundit. Depending, of course, on that ever-flexible Lib dictionary that lets them just use any old word they want to, any old way they want to.
A-10, please do not waste time starting any query to tantrum with the words "are you ignorant"? The answer is so obvious, in every possible case, you are using up energy you could use to present actual FACTS. Not that tantrum could process facts, but the rest of us like to see him duck and dodge when they come his way.
Though he DOES impress rubles. Come to think of it, that makes complete sense..... That 'two of a kind' thing, you know.
not to get off topic to far Neo....Nancy Pelosi and the Lt. Gov of Mexifornia(as you put it) said today that the National Guard couldn't do their job due to lack of equipment and personnel but the AG of the state just said that they have plenty of both now who you going to believe someone with her head up her 4th point of contact or the General in charge of the states National Guard.....
on
Me personally I believe Nancy cause she is so truthful off
Hi Again,
(Slanders Deleted)
YiR, GOP70Dave,
P.S. Won't be here long since many of you are wackos like the Dems of yesteryear.
GOP70Dave,
Do you honestly think that your tired old mindless talking points have somehow never been posted here, by more intelligent brainwashed lemmings than yourself, only to be completely ridiculed and debunked.
For Christs sake, keep up with the political blogosphere. I am embarrassed for you.
Agentfear....I'm calling you out punk! Go back and answer the question in the earlier thread regarding whether or not you'd "negotiate with terrorists or fight."
Don't these kooks realize that their BDS is so transparent that whatever credibility they came here with has disnintegrated with disingenuous regurgitations of kook talking points.
In essence Agentfear...go away!
It's punks like you and steveocar that give your party a worse name than you already have.
Let's count how many kook talking points have surfaced in this thread. It's like finding Waldo...only easier when you consider the list of contenders consists of SteveGA, Agentfear, Cannuchuckguy, Buyrubles, Tantraman, Michael and last but not least GOP70Dave, the so-called "engineer, skater, GOD believer, too long Republican near 60" that hasn't quite been able to structure a cohesive sentence in the short time he/she/it has been here.
You, our liberal friends, are the most pathetic lot yet to challenge here at B4B...THAT is for sure!
Almiranta,
I know, but I was using the phrase as a rhetorical statement. I think itis telling that tantraman has crawled back into his hole and is not responding.
You know, I try to keep up with the Iraqi Front in the Global War on Terror, but until recently, I was unaware that the UN Security Council had passed a Mandate each year since 2003 to provide support to the Iraqi Government. You would think that the MSM would have let everyone know that.
Oh, right. The MSM doesn't want anyone to know what is really going on in Iraq and that the Multinational Force in Iraq has the backing of the UN and the blessing of the Iraqi Government. They want everyone to continue with the mantra that we are illegally occupying Iraq. They are willfully ignoring and supressing the fact that both the UN and the Iraqi Government want us there.
Only in the liberal, alternate universe can this exist. The UN and the Iraqi Government want us to stay in Iraq until the Iraqis can provide for their own security. The terrorists, the Democrats, and the far-left anti-war groups want us to leave NOW. What's wrong with this picture?
And the left wonders why we say they cannot be trusted with our national security.
And the left wonders why we question their patriotism.
neocon,
You cannot question what does not exist.
Good point A-10, people forget that the US taxpayer must pay to do the bidding of the ultra corrupt, unelected, United Nations. It's certianly legitimate to jail US citizens that don't pay their taxes that help the causes of foriegn nations and the UN, it's their mandatory duty.
Like neocon said, anyone that questions the foriegn policy, or the US tax slaves obligation to pay to police the whole world is unpatriotic. Just shut up, pay you taxes on time, and don't complain about where the money gets spent, like good citizens. It's not like it's actually your money.
Like neocon said, anyone that questions the foriegn policy, or the US tax slaves obligation to pay to police the whole world is unpatriotic.
But you told me it wasn't my money, right roberta?
And when did I say that questioning foreign policy was unpatriotic?
robert, you're becoming more irrlevant and unhinged by the day.
no matter how often it has been debunked
"Now, look, part of the reason we went into Iraq was -- the main reason we went into Iraq at the time was we thought he had weapons of mass destruction. It turns out he didn't"
George W. Bush, August 21, 2006
More crow, Almiranta? You seem to have developed quite a taste for it.
I am a little late to retort to Neocon for stating this silly comment:
"By deposing Saddamm we created a battleground to fight AQ, and to establish a beach head for democracy in the ME."
-That comment already has been nicely slapped down by tantraman with the sarcastic: "Gee, and all this time I thought it was to go looking for WMD."
I just wish to add that Bush already had a perfectly good place to battle these terrorists in Afghanistan but allowed himself to be sucked into Iraq without finishing up business in Afghanistan. History will condemn his neocon advisors for this blunder.
:
Cannuckguy and his "terrorists stay within their borders" mentality have blown their cover and now, whenever they make stupid-ass statements such as: "I just wish to add that Bush already had a perfectly good place to battle these terrorists in Afghanistan but allowed himself to be sucked into Iraq without finishing up business in Afghanistan. History will condemn his neocon advisors for this blunder."
This just shows your lack of undestanding the GWOT...good luck with that marketing plan in 2008.
Oh, BTW Canuckguy; ever heard of Somalia, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Jordan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Mindanao in the Philippines, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, Tunisia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Dagestan, Jammu and Kashmri, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Eritrea, Uganda, Ethiopia, also in parts of the West Bank and Gaza.
Yup, AQI can "only" exist in Afghanistan...yup!
Moron!
The Iraq war is not the "war on terror" and we should not be their. There was no alliance between Al Qaeda and Iraq. This was known to bush and his advisors long before this war.
This war is completely unjustified. The senate report for pre-war intelligence stated that there was no cooperative relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda and that Iraq had ceased its major weapon's programs. There was no Al Qaeda in Iraq and there is still no Al Qaeda in Iraq.
This war is solely a product of a neo-conservative administration manufacturing and manipulating evidence inorder to carryout their imperialistic agenda.
