It is getting rather entertaining, Neocon. You could say that the "diversity" that the Dems are so often touting as their strength will end up being their undoing. In my book they call that poetic justice. It also helps that their leadership is completely devoid of integrity and core principles, traits that they are beginning to display on a daily basis. While their far left base blindly applauds, many Independents and Blue-Dog Dems are saying, WTF's up with that? I hope they keep it up all the way to November, '08.

You'd think with the polls that are 70% against the war and against Bush, more of the American people would flock to these showings.

My point being let them come(the dems that is)and foster a nation that praises terrorist as "insurgance," and let them try and tax us to the hills cause I just have a real thought that american people are smart enough to figure this out even if the media is a will participant in all of this lying they like to do.

I don't feel any saddness for "when they even fail at Hollywood". More a feeling of happiness. Reminds me of the New York Times' circulation, readership and most importantly their stock price. And I hold Mark Cuban responsible for Rendition for bankrolling it.

I'm not sure how I missed this video from a couple months ago, but I think it speaks to the fears of everyone on this thread (up to now, that is).

My guess is that people are just plain fed up. Fed up with all the neocon scheming, lying, manipulating, promoting, cheating, and stealing. They're just as fed up with expecting the left to help them. They want something done, and are let down again and again by their democratic representatives, who let the GOP obstructionist manipulators win because they don't have enough votes to override a veto.

So apathy is rampant. Why care? It's not going to help. Helplessness. Disenfranchisement. Disillusion.

Or maybe, because of the issues listed above, they truly just want escape. Escape from the grind. From that helplessness. Forget about it, for now.

Maybe, because of the internet, they already know how they're being cheated, robbed, killed, and manipulated. They don't need another reminder.

Hollywood even stuck non-existent incidents into historical movies like "The Longest Day" to make a point. The part where the Rangers gun down surrendering Germans never happened. The director admitted he put it in to make a point. What point? It didn't happen.

The examples go on and on.

People are sick of America hating and military hating messages woven into story after story.

But when someone tells a story straight up, like "Blackhawk Down", "We Were Soldiers" its received well. Even when the stories are absurd, if they are true to life and positive they are well received. My uncle is one of the characters portrayed in Band Of Brothers - and excellent mini-series. Its well worth the $70 to $80 it costs still several years after airing.

The current crop focuses again and again and again on the tiny tiny tiny fraction of bad apples. Or they dwell endlessly in the evil America that the left believes exists. And guess what, we don't buy it. We think you're full of crap and we're sick of it.

Let me know when they make a movie based upon (accurately upon) "Lone Survivor". Or when they tell the TRUTH about Fallujah Two and maybe talk about some of the Navy Crosses. Maybe Mel Gibson will do it someday.

Rendition has made a whole $5,120,000 up to the 24th I dont assume under any pretext that this is a success. And if you look at the reviews most people who have gone to see it cause of the line up of stars that were in it have been really upset by the fact it is preaching Hate America in it basically. The ones that have like it are as you can tell by the reviews written lefties and are irrelivant anyway.

In the Valley of Elah has made 6,585,535 this after being out for well over a month coming up on two months. This again no matter how you look at it is not a great thing for Hollyweird.

They do these movies and try to put well known actors in them to get them promoted for people to see but alas all they have done is assure I am not a Tommy Lee Jones fan anymore do to the fact he did this movie cause he really supported the ideas in it. Liberals control most of the press, most of entertainment TV and most of the movies.

They need to make their arguments in a controlled environment. They set themselves up as both sides of the argument and pretend it reflects the actual political discussion. This way, they control the conservative or pro-American message and can shape it anyway they want. Then they pen the "reply" and lo and behold - it sounds good.

But they twist the Republican / conservative / Pro-American message so as to put it in its worst possible light. Often its twisted to the point where it does not in any way reflect the actual position. Its cheating. Its staged. And its propaganda.

If they are so sure of their positions, why not debate them openly and honestly?
