Chafee Quits the GOP

The news story.

Nothing particularly wrong with this - if Mr. Chafee feels that he no longer has a strong political afinity with the mainstream of the GOP, then it is time for him to seek his political allegiances elsewhere. But there is this:

We could have backed a man last year against Chafee - I mean, as the Republican Party we could have. In other words, Chafee could have left the party last year and saved the GOP all the money and effort we poured into his re-election effort. Chafee's opinions haven't changed. The GOP hasn't changed - things today are as they were when Chafee happily accepted GOP largesse for his re-election effort.

What Chafee has done is dishonorable - and we're better off without him in our party.

Lincoln who?

Posted by: neocon [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 16, 2007 06:01 PM

To quote from one of my favorite songs by the Sanford Townsend Band:

"This lying, and cryin', is upsettin' and gettin' ya no where
It don't stack up, so slack up and pack up
I just don't care
Don't let the screen door hit you, on your way out.
Don't you drown when your dream boat runs onto the ground"

I usually just go with the screen door line, but, the whole thing fits

Awesome news. One of the few moonbats we have, had. Good riddance.

Our resident liberals will be chirping in any minute now to tell us that Lincoln was one of the more reasoned GOP'ers and that this is a sure sign that the party is losing steam.

Cue liberals in 3....2.....1....

Lincoln was one of the more reasoned GOP'ers and I think this is a sure sign the party is losing steam.

Cheers!

One of the rare instances of a sense of humor from the left.

Well done Eric.

A welcome break from politics, Jeremiah. I have some pretty tame deer in my woods, but not THAT tame.

As to Lincoln Chafee, it is a shame so many hard-earned campaign dollars were wasted on the guy over the years. I can't imagine too many people shedding tears over his leaving the party.

More rats overboard from the sinking Neocon ship. The Republican party is unrecognizable.

This comment, above all others she's posted, shows how utterly stupid this cow is. She doesn't even know who ol' Linc is.

Plainlamejane, are you and sunny related? I'd wager you are; in fact, I'd be willing to bet that you were Siamese twins, conjoined at the pea-brain before successful surgery serarated you two. Unfortunately for you both, the doctors had to perform lobotomies on you both because when they cut, two pea-sized brains leaked out, leaving you both brainless. But at least you survived the surgery, and you can be a productive lemming for your party.

Chafee was the head RINO in a party littered with them. Remember, there's still Collins, Voinovich, Snowe, and others who are necessary evils, because their states aren't into electing conservatives. It's the dumbing-down of the electorate, and the Donkaroaches are experts at keeping their electorate dumbed-down.

Chafee...was a Republican??? Since when? Ok, everybody sing..."If you knew RINO, like I knew RINO...."
