yo
markie mark
did you see this? (wsj poll)
maybe we'll get lucky in 2012
and get some candidates with common sense

MOST AMERICANS FAVOR a third-party White House bid.

Some 53% back the idea of building a third party to mount presidential candidacy. Support is strongest among men, those younger than 50, professionals and Northeasterners.

Seven of 10 say an independent would enhance the presidential campaign, and just 11% say they wouldn’t consider voting for an independent. Yet in hypothetical independent bid against Clinton and Giuliani, New York City Mayor Bloomberg draws just 16% from self-described independents

Just read the thing about the Dems fixing the vote. Boy, the house sure is ethical these days. Really glad the dems have that under control now.

Why would you go on that show? At least go on a show somebody watches.

Being a Republican from Washington State, we have a theory that if a Republican wants to win a vote they have to win it by a large enough excess that the Democrats can't possibly fraudulantly procure votes to exceed us. Winning an election by 1 vote or 100 just isn't enough, all that means is that it will be some democratic court battles and a couple months before they find a few more hundred votes for the Dem. Same way in Congress, if the Republicans want to win a vote in the House, they better win it by 7 to 10 votes or those lying, cheating, backstabbing, bolsheviks will end up winning instead - that is what democrat 'democracy' is about.

Republicans and Conservative must do much more to get the word out and inform the American voters. Many Americans will be outraged to hear the way Democrats are providing taxpayer funding for illegal aliens. Many Americans will be outraged to hear that Democrats define a child as a person, including illegal aliens, under 26 years of age. Many Senior American voters will be outraged to hear that Medicare and Medicaid is being used to subsidize illegal aliens.

Why aren't Republicans and Conservatives hitting the air waves and media outlets hammering that message in. Not just a time or tow, bur repeatedly over and over and over... repetition is key to getting the message across.

Has anyone given consideration or thought to organizing groups who prepare and forward e-mails, notifying and informing their members of what the Democrats are up to? Tens of thousands of small to medium sized groups working together all across America could help get the message out and across!

AAR:

Good post, but I think people in general on the conservative side, are just totally disgusted with
the party, as THEY(GOP) seem to do nothing in the way of getting the messages out themselves. If they have access to radio, tv, etc. WHY, do THEY NOT COME ON, FIGHTING AND SCREAMING THESE IDIOTIC ACTIVITIES BY THE DEMS, THEMSELVES? THEY JUST SEEM TO SIT BACK, AND LET THE DEMS BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THEM, AND THEY TAKE IT. IF "THEY WON'T FIGHT AND BE HEARD, HOW IN THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT
US(bloggers, writers, etc.) TO DO THE JOB FOR THEM WHEN THEY ACT LIKE A BUNCH OF BEATEN PINATAS?

I'll be very honest with you, I haven't been on the posts lately, as I have been personally totally disgusted with my party, and tired of them
NOT fighting back. If they don't wake up soon, they are going to lose to the Dems, with the likes
of Hillary/Bill, who are loving this weak attitude
of our party, as they keep "The Clinton Mud Machine Rolling Along"...Just wait until it really
goes into high gear.

This GOP better WAKE UP, AND WAKE UP NOW. OR, THEY DESERVE TO LOSE "AGAIN".

plane,

Its a radio show, so no one watches it...and the next time you write a book and get on radio to discuss it, I'll take your opinion into account.

lenny,

Interesting, but it could be like the "un-named Democrat" who did so well in early 2004 polling...until there's an actual name to attach to the concept, people are fee to assign to the concept whatever their fondest hopes are.

mark

you don't feel a "common sense" candidate would make any sense?
the current admin sure doesn't have any
and the dems don't either
and that would mean you don't either?
especially with your all roads lead to rome comment
gimme me a break

"and the next time you write a book and get on radio to discuss it, I'll take your opinion into account."

Do you need a degree to publish a book? Which makes you more authoratative-- publishing a book or having a high level degree? Didn't we just have a post on that a week ago?

Jo,

That's one reason more people are registering as Independents.

It's not that Republicans have suddenly decided to become Democrats; if they had, they would be registering as Democrats! It's they are tired of Republicans who allow themselves to be out-maneuvered by Democrats or worse yet, Republicans who act like Democrats!

I know I've had it with most Republicans, not for being "too classic Republican" or "too Conservative" but for being too Democrat-like and for sitting around drawing their salaries when they should be out fighting and talking -- REALLY FIGHTING and TALKING -- down and dirty, just like the Democrats (Liberals) have been doing 24 hours a day for six straight years!

If Republicans can't be creative and figure out ways to cut the Democrats off at the knees (figuratively speaking), then we must elect Independent Conservatives who will! I think we need to do that anyway, to give Republicans some cover from the misleading and hate directed propaganda from the Democrats... which Republicans seem unwilling or incapable of fighting. Sometimes I wonder if they even see or understand what's happening, let alone doing something creative, energetic, and proactive about it! If the American people do not constantly hear the Conservative message, they certainly won't support or vote for it!

At the same time we work to elect and energize Conservatives, we on the Right must learn from the Left. We must get more organized and somewhat active, even if that means nothing more than keeping our friends informed, writing letters to the editor, writing more on blogs, and informing the many Conservatives who are not glued to the Internet the way the parent and government funded Left-Wing college kids are. We must learn to use group dynamics, learn to recognize and use effective "propaganda-style" techniques, and work to get our message out before Democrats effectively tramp it into the mud with their well organized propaganda mill!

I've though about actions, but we need a different forum or a different website (blog) to discuss and talk about issues, topics, tactics, and strategy among Conservatives without the useless clutter, propaganda, and opinions of the enemy -- the Democrats and Liberals!

We've got a good core group right here on B4B! Even if we didn't make it a full time effort for now, it would be a site where we could occasionally express and discuss our opinions and suggestions WITHOUT the "help" of the Democrat (Liberal) propagandists to distract us!

Ideally, we need to awaken the Conservative ACTIVISTS!

lenny,

Its been my experience that "common sense candidate" means "liberal who can pass for centrist in the MSM." Jesse Ventura was the prime example of this - and he even bought his own talking points; he actually thought he could appoint liberals and conservatives and get a balanced Administration...all he got was a liberal Administration which failed miserably.

The reason I'm a conservative is because, to paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, the facts of life are conservative. Conservatism is, boiled down, basic, common-sense human belief.

The common sense belief is that taxes should be low - because individuals have a right to the fruits of their labor.

The common sense belief if that you keep your military as strong as you can - because if it ever comes to a fight, you'd better be ready with the best you've got.

The common sense belief is that strong discipline builds better children than stroking their "self esteem" - because genuine self esteem comes when a person, because he is disciplined, accomplishes difficult tasks.

The common sense belief is that the basic thrust of sex education should be to discourage sexual behaviour until marriage - because sex outside of marriage leads to huge social pathologies (abortion, STDs, un-wanted children, poverty, etc, etc, etc).

Common sense is conservatism by another name - so, if we want a common sense candidate, just pick the most conservative one out there (hint, in 2000 and 2004, it was President Bush...so, for the past 6 and a half years, you've gotten nothing but the most common-sensical government you could get...and if you don't like it, then you should check carefully into what you think is common sense).

Why would you go on that show? At least go on a show somebody watches.

Just 'cause plainmaryjane doesn't like a show, everyone else shouldn't like it. Ditto Mark's comment, pj--write your own book, and go on Bill Maher, the Daily Show, or Letterman. I'm sure we'd all be enthralled, judging by the quality of your posts here.

"I'm basically a libertarian. I'm pro-gay marriage and pro-choice, but nobody wants to hear all that... - Dennis Miller

I think we want to hear about that.

Mark,

Can I suppose we should expect you to hit him hard on these two issues?
