As of this writing, we here at Blogs for Bush have published nearly 154,000 comments - and we have in our archive about 1,000 comments that didn't make the cut. That works out to 6 tenths of one percent of all comments being found to be so objectionable that we won't allow them to show up on as free and open a blog as Blogs for Bush. I think that given these facts I can make the general judgment that if your comment didn't make the grade, then you are one world-class jerk unfit for decent company of any kind.
I bring this up because I'm getting rather tired of having nasty comments up all day, and then having to spend an hour weeding them out each night. I know, we've got Keefer...but we also allow Kblack to fire away, so I think we're even on hard-hitting right and leftwing comments...keeping in mind that we are a decidedly conservative blog. I'm asking those of you who have built up a personal animus towards us here at Blogs for Bush to just go away - we know your IPs, your comments won't last long, if they even appear at all...and you aren't doing anything to harm us, and nothing to help yourself. Just go away.
We really enjoy writing this blog - and we're going to keep doing it for, well, for ever, as far as we can tell - its just a lot of fun commenting on the issues of the day and having fierce debates with people who feel otherwise. But if you aren't here to have a little fun and, just perhaps, learn something new...then why in heck would you want to be here? There are plenty of other blogs out there - heck, you can even start your own; there have been whole blogs, in the past, dedicated to hating the writers of this blog, so its not like it'd be something new.
Haters, just go away - we've got no use for you; put a bit of love in your hearts, and then come back - but if you can't do that, then just go stew in your own nasty juices.
UPDATE, by Matt Margolis: I would add that we are 100% for civil, reasoned debate. But I agree with Mark that if you're not going to contribute in a positive way, then we have little use for you. Quite frankly, I don't understand why people think that they can use our blog to personally attack us. You don't have to agree with our opinions, but if you think you're going to use this site as your soapbox to attack us then you are mistaken. If you think you're going to shame us into publishing comments by accusing us of being afraid to publish alternate viewpoints, then you are equally misguided into think we're going to fall for that. We're accused regularly of censoring alternate viewpoints in spite of the fact that there is a sizable amount of liberal commenters here who have had no problems having their comments published. Posting comments here is a privilege, not a right. We can take that privilege away at any time.

When I first arrived here in late '03 or early '04, I used to enjoy fisking the occasional Lefty comments that were simply cut and pasted DNC, KOS and DU talking points containing few facts, little truth and lots of hyperbole. They would usually start out with "the fact is", and then state something that was (a) not a fact, (b) purely conjecture, (c) taken out of context or (d) an outright lie. Sometimes you could get them to admit that, yeah, their comment was a little over the top. Often they'd just leave after having been exposed as the frauds they were.
Today, we have people like kblack who continually regurgitate total blithering idiocy, post after post, get hammered to the ground, dust themselves off and keep coming back for more. Everyone (and this applies to both sides) has an arsenal of articles, studies, polls and reports to link to that supports his/her point of view. Whether they're true or not is often irrelevent, as long as they refute the other person's point of view. It gets to the point when you refute the misrepresentations about (fill in the blank) for the 100th time, you finally throw up your hands and say "screw it -- who cares?"
It has gotten a bit much, Mark, and I applaud your stand.

I would neither consider myself a partisan or a "hater" yet I have only seen the last 2 out of ten or so of my posts actually appear on the site. I used to applaud B4B as a rare political site that allows open debate from both sides... Yes, I do have an opinion on certain issues that may lean one way or the other (IE Isreal to the right or Iraq to the left), but I don't see that as a valid reason to continue to censor me. Maybe it is a glitch since I use a Mac, but it seems more like censorship.

The only place kblack can keep getting up and dusting off is cyberspace. AQ would nail him in a second in the real world even though he supports them. The only place he will be read is on someone else's blog. Definitely time to go, but leave us your forwarding blog and let us know your readership count.
Thanks for your stand. I also await W to start taking a firmer stand and with frequency against those who insult his heroic stand on the GWOT.

CAIndie,
Really? Sorry about that, then...but there is, also, the swamp of un-registered comments which sometimes flows in...makes it difficult, at times, to wade through them. My suggestion is to register - your comments won't have to go through an editorial process which can get horribly backed up as, hey, its just a few of us voluntarily doing this in our off time.

ATTENTION MARK:
Mark, you stated "Haters, just go away"
Just curious, but would you consider listing the 'haters'?
PAY ATTENTION CAINDIE:
Also, Mark, regarding CAIndie's complaint about not get posted often, (and I said this before to CAIndie), is it because CAIndie is not regestered with TYPEKEY? At least when one is on TYPEKEY, the comment is immediately posted and if found totally objectional, it only gets deleted when you notice it.

Rick-
You need to calm down a bit sir, no one is committing treason by disagreeing with you, or mark, or matt, or george, or dick or anyone else.

Canuckguy,
Well I was one of those 'haters' that was banned for the following comments:
http://www.blogsforbush.com/mt/archives/2007/06/sicko.html#comments
Paramedic Sarah is another that was banned.
I can only assume that if one employs effective arguments, then you are considered a hater.
Yet people such as rick4bush can post his highly intelligent and witty comments.
Ciao.

Just trying to get a bead. I realize that questioning your editorial prowess is grounds for deletion, but discussing anything else would be "off topic" for this post.
I get a ton of "off topic" deletions when I attempt to broaden the conversation to include mitigating circumstances that further elucidate the discussion. Do those count as "hate"?
Beter for us to get rid of the muslum sand niggers anyway!!!!!!!!! Posted by: rick4bush at July 19, 2007 11:32 PM
Is this "hate"? You allowed the comment to stand so maybe you accept if not condone it.
I, for one, don't hate any of you here. In fact, I love you as fellow Americans and like-minded-while-diversely-opinionated computer geeks. I have thrown out the occasional "bozos" comment (clown: someone who intentionally hits himself in the head with a rubber mallet for a paycheck), but personal attacks? Pointless, as, having been on the receiveing end, personal attacks merely illustrate that the opposing opinion has run out of facts.
But there are places for one-sided, heavily edited discussions of politics and philosophies - they're called KKK rallies or commie politburos, of which this site resembles neither.
Yet?
Ultimately you must realize that if it's not "above the fold" no one reads it anyway. It's the arguments you make in the original post that will either stand up against criticism and get you a cushy advisory position in the next conservative administration, or fall due to easily debunked errors and omissions.
Anyone who reads any blog anywhere knows the personal attacks prove nothing, achieve nothing and mean nothing anyway.
I receive plenty. So?

well thats quite amusing.
While I will give Mark and Matt that they do allow a fair amount of "liberal" comments to be placed on the blog there is clearly a huge bias to what they call hate.
If you dare to say something even the slightest bit anti-Christian you are banned for life. People are routinely banned for attacking the commentator - yet Keefer who called me "asshat' for several months and much worse is allowed to stay. Finally you see comments like "sand nigger" are allowed. How much more hypocritical could you possibly be..

You want to really see hate?
Troll around the Kos for about 5 minutes. The "enlightened" masses that post there blow my mind.
Congressive I could cut and paste tons of posts of objectionable content from that site too.

Yes, it is surprising that B4B would want to have such a low-standard individual posting racial slurs on a site that is, supposedly, dedicated to supporting the President of the United States of America.
Do you think it benefits your Christian image to show the world that this type of obscene, racist comment is allowed to stand without censor?

I think all haters and Canadian idiots should be banned from this site.
GOP 4 ME, you don't fall into the Canadian idiots category; I'm referring to the 3 Stooges--Canuckguy, CO, and axis. And axis has either been banned, or changed his/her/its name. Probably to kblack77. Naw, even axis wasn't that stupid.
Mark, do I still have the same poetic license as before?

Reefer stated: "Canadian idiots should be banned from this site."
Reefer keefer, you expose yourself as such a fascist when you spout off like that. Normally you are no 'rick4bush' but if you keep that attitude, you soon will be.
Besides, as somebody else stated a while back, how boring this site would be if only you Bushbots contributed. You need the likes of us, the ones with rational positions, to abuse in order to feel good about yourselves.
