Kook Left Attacked by Kookier Left!

ROFL:

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - Cindy Sheehan, the soldier's mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to seek House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's congressional seat unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That's when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group's war protest site near Bush's Crawford ranch.

"Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership," Sheehan told The Associated Press. "We hired them to bring an end to the war. I'm not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn't be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money."

Can you imagine the lunatic circus which would be called into existence by such a thing? As a political junkie, this would be sweet, sweet delight...

Well, Democrats, you brought these kooks into your mainstream because you wanted their votes and money...and now you've got what you wanted. How does it taste?

How about a song!

You know Conyers and Clinton

And Biden and Murtha,
Rangle and Kennedy
And Hastings and Kerry.
But do you recall
The most famous pinko of all?

Sheehan the un-hinged pinko
Had a very shiny bio
And when the Donkey saw it
The focus-groups said, "give it a go"
And all of the other pinkos
Had a laugh and called her name
They were sure that poor, little Sheehan
Would be the key to Speaker, Madam

So one foggy Election Eve
Pelosi came to say
Sheehan with your mind wrapped too tight
Won't you energise my base tonight?
And all of the pinkos loved her
And they shouted out with glee
"Sheehan the un-hinged pinko
You'll go down in history!"

But then one blazing summer day
Sheehan came to say
"Donkey with your power just right
won't you end our war tonight?

Now all the other pinkos
have sweat dripping off their nose
who ever thought that Sheehan
wanted more than passing fame?

Your lack of compassion for a mother driven a little bit crazy by the loss of her son does not become you Mark. But beyond that, here's a possibility that should worry you:

kook left

liberal Democrats
+
moderate Democrats

Independents

Democratic landslide

Have you noticed political donations? I think the smart money is lining up behind Democrats as they realize the key to continuing to own the aparatus of government is to buy the party about to have the power.

Posted by: Thrower [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 03:14 AM

True enough Thrower. It's too bad that the way towards another 40 year Democratic majority has required the incompetence and stubborn idiocy of the past 6.5 years.

Mark

Well, Democrats, you brought these kooks into your mainstream because you wanted their votes and money...and now you've got what you wanted. How does it taste?

Mark, Mark, Mark. You still don't understand that you and your posse are the kooks of the right? The GOP is in such a bad shape right now because it desperately needed the votes from the likes of you and brought them into their mainstream. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Posted by: Willem van Oranje [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 07:40 AM

Cute poem, Mark. Did you make that up all by yourself?

Posted by: Ricorun [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 08:23 AM

Isn't this extortion....snicker...snicker. But seriously thrower, if you're trying to draw parallels between last Nov. and the up-coming 2008 election, the last election was now where near a landslide.
This may be wishful thinking.

If "The Nose" does decide to run though, I think I'll donate $ to her campaign just to see Piglosi lose...talk about a wonderful thought...Ahhh, no more Piglosi! And take your freakin phony arse kids with you on the way out. Yeah...it's for the children all right. What a phony bi-zitch!

Just think, Piglosi has accomplished the big fat "0" while house leader, so I'm sure "The Nose" couldn't do any worse....LOL!

A Pinko fight. Awesome. Swing and giggle? Swing and run? Swing and Congressional investigation? Swing and raise taxes?

Swing and RUN.

Posted by: SEW at July 9, 2007 09:44 AM

I say vote for Cindy Sheehan!

I can't think of a better "face" in Congress to represent the "face" of the Democrat Party!

I just know the American voters will look forward to watching and listening to Sheehan each and every day, knowing she represents the "best" of the Democrat's ultra-left kooks!

Thrower,

The lack of compassion is on the left which took a woman clearly in need of extensive mental and spiritual counseling and ruthlessly exploited her biography in order to troll for leftwing votes and donations...

As for the donations - yep, Donks are energised and shovelling the money at their party and candidates...but money doesn't win elections; never has. You do know that we GOPers were outspent in 2004, don't you?

Posted by: Mark Noonan at July 9, 2007 09:55 AM

impressive - not only bottom-selling authors (sales rank 316,366), but drive-by poets to boot. charming indeed.

must be all the weight of the additional GOP "surrender monkeys" piling on to the administration that has a few nerves frayed.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 09:58 AM

Mark, I persoanlly can't stand Cindy Sheehan, but for you to make fun of her for her extreme politics is a bit of the pot calling the kettle...

The dems may have to learn their lesson, much the way the republicans have by letting themselves be overtaken by the radical whackos on the extreme right. That being said, the public seems ready to embrace liberal politics at least for the near future, so I wouldn't go celebrating. 2008 isn't looking to be pretty for the right...

= PARTY IMPLOSION

Run, Cindy, Run

Posted by: neocon [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 11:19 AM

sure thing neo - "party imploding". record fundraising, record number of americans identifying themselves as democrats, record number or republicans deserting ranks and going independent. oh yeah, bush at 26 percent. i would agree that there is some truth in that statement, but you need to modify the noun to which it refers.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 11:43 AM

Conscriptor,

Do you just delude yourself into thinking that because all of your friends are liberal?

Here are some actual stats:

Public approval of the job Congress is doing has dipped to its lowest level of 2006, and is now the worst Gallup has recorded since the closing days of the Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994. The current approval rating for Congress is a near-record low according to Gallup survey trending.

Gallup has been tracking a potential general election matchup between Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton since February and their most recent poll shows Giuliani with 51% to Clinton’s 46%. Both are clear favorites with their respective parties, with independents favoring Giuliani (51%) over Clinton (43%).

And the following is from the Washington Monthly, a very liberal website.

LIBERAL AMERICA?....James Joyner reports today on a new Gallup poll showing that the number of Americans who self-identify as conservative is twice the number who self-identify as liberal.

It doesn't matter who wins as long as the fascist right looses. Peace

Posted by: steve at July 9, 2007 12:10 PM

Mark,
Since this topic is on the periphery of the War on Terror, I thought I'd bring it up. I don't know what the truth is regarding the 'called off raid' on AQ chiefs in Pakistan that supposedly took place in '05. But if there is truth to this, then I think once again it shows Bush's lack of fortitude in strongly fighting the fight against terrorism that I, as well as many others believe that we must win. Maybe there were strategic reasons for calling off the raid, but it will be hard to, in turn, critisize Clinton for not bumping off OBL when he was in the gun sites. You can bring out the best pom-poms in your arsenal, but I don't think that no amount of your cheerleading will stop GWB from becoming the GOP version of Jimmy Carter. As you've seen from my previous posts on B4B, I support the war on terror and I want us as freedom loving people to win the fight against tyranny. How can I support GWB if he seems to have less ambition in fighting this war, than the Democrats in surrendering it?
This is an honest question, what say you?

Posted by: JAF [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 12:24 PM

neo - i will grant you that congress is indeed held in remarkably low esteem by the public (and should be on account of not holding this administration accountable for immeasurable misdeeds, including among them the war in iraq).

that said, with respect to my point about party identification:
From a Pew research Poll, "Trends in Political Values and Core Attitudes: 1987-2007" released March 22, 2007:

Even more striking than the changes in some core political and social values is the dramatic shift in party identification that has occurred during the past five years. In 2002, the country was equally divided along partisan lines: 43% identified with the Republican Party or leaned to the GOP, while an identical proportion said they were Democrats. Today, half of the public (50%) either identifies as a Democrat or says they lean to the Democratic Party, compared with 35% who align with the GOP.

So contrary to your snide observation, no I am not delusional.

Also from a Gallup poll in 2006:

An average of all national Gallup polling in 2006, consisting of interviews with more than 30,000 adult Americans, finds 34% of Americans identifying as Democrats, 30% as Republicans, and 34% as independents. The parties had been relatively even in terms of national strength since 2001. The most recent figures represent the largest Democratic advantage since the Clinton presidency.(...)

The increasing Democratic advantage is mainly due to declining Republican identification, rather than increasing Democratic identification. From 2004-2006, Republican identification declined from 34% to 30%, while Democratic identification increased by less than a percentage point (33.6% to 34.3%). During the last three years, the percentage of Americans identifying as independents increased from 31% to 34%.

The Democrats' advantage expands when taking into account the "leanings" of independents. In 2006, 50% of Americans identified as Democrats or were independents who said they leaned toward the Democratic Party. Forty percent identified as Republicans or leaned to the Republican Party. That 10-point advantage more than doubled the Democrats' 4-point advantage in 2005, and is the largest gap Gallup has measured in any year for either party since it regularly began tracking leaned party identification in 1991. This is the first time since 1991 that a party's support reached the 50% level.

Say what you may about what party may or may not be "imploding" - there is pretty clear evidence supportive of a leftward migration in this country and your boy Bush probably has a hell of a lot to do with it.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 12:24 PM

Somehow, the traits known as compassion and shame somehow skipped you, Mark.

I won't even tell you that you should be ashamed for making that mean-spirited song of Sheehan, because I have learned that it's people like you that are only screwing your party.

So keep up with the mean-spirited jokes and continue to blindly follow our lame-duck president. In the end the only people you are hurting is the GOP.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 12:32 PM

neocon,

you might want to update your Gallup-stats:
Clinton beats Giuliani by 50% - 46%
Edwards beats Giuliani by 50% - 45%
Obama beats Giuliani by 50% - 45%

Giuliani is already tanking, and that after just a little bit of exposure. When he gets the Republican nomination (I doubt it), he will have a huge problem getting out the votes from the social conservatives. But keep dreaming.

The current approval rating for Congress is jointly shared by Reps and Dems. Approval ratings for the Dems in Congress are higher than those for the Reps. Reps are filibustering everything that moves in Congress. When the voters become aware of this, guess what will happen.

James Joyner reports today on a new Gallup poll showing that the number of Americans who self-identify as conservative is twice the number who self-identify as liberal.
Another clear sign that voters think the GOP has been hijacked by extremist. A lot of people who identify themselves as conservative are more comfortable with Dems than with Reps.

Sheehan-Fox could displace Piglosi and be the first Squeaker of the House. There's only one female voice that's more aggravating--Hitlary's.

What's your voice sound like, Dr. Dumbass?

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 04:21 PM

That makes it two campaigns that I will donate money for.

Nadar and Sheehan.

Wow, after typing it out, it wouldnt look bad as a Prersidential ticket.

C'mon guys! Split that vote!

>>Reps are filibustering everything that moves in Congress. When >>the voters become aware of this, guess what will happen.

Hmmm, the same behavior didnt seem to hurt the Dems in the last election cycle, why do you think it will turn out differently for the Republicans?

The truth is, that the dems are running the show now (poorly, but that was expected). The buck stops at Nancy and Harrys desk these days.

Spook, great retort. Can you imagine ANY conservative voting for one these Democrats? LOL!

If this moves Pelosi to get us out of this war sooner so be it. The Congressional Dems are at their low point for only one reason; giving Bush and Cheney unitl September. How many will die between now and them?

Here's what I found........

Gallup: Rudy vs. Hillary
Published by Peter Hauck June 13th, 2007
Gallup has been tracking a potential general election matchup between Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton since February and their most recent poll shows Giuliani with 51% to Clinton’s 46%. Both are clear favorites with their respective parties, with independents favoring Giuliani (51%) over Clinton (43%).

I have never been a big fan of polls to begin with, as they can, as most often are, so easily skewed. So I want argue with you on the results. That being said, look at the gallup poll you linked to and you'll see what I mean:

2007 Jun 11-14
50 - Hillary
46 - Rudy
*
2
1

2007 Jun 1-3
45 - Hillary
52 - Rudy

A six point swing in ten days! Especially when were 15 months away from the polls!

I don't buy it. It's WAY too early to tell any way.

Run, Sheeman, run! Popcorn, meet popper.

Posted by: Psycheout [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 06:50 PM

Neocon,

A six point swing in ten days!

That's what just a little exposure on Giuliani does.

Posted by: Willem van Oranje [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 07:08 PM

A pissing contest over Gallup?
okay, I'll play: from Gallup july 2, 2007

Gallup 06-04 to 06-24:
Giuliani (R) 49%
Clinton (D) 47%

Who knows; more to the point; who cares? But, there is one thing we are sure of: 51% of likely voters will not vote for Hillary no matter whom she runs against.

Posted by: Dasein Libsbane [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 08:02 PM

DL, you did check the sample of that study, did you? And you checked the margin of sampling error for that study, did you?

Who knows; more to the point; who cares?

Both you and neocon seem to be rather obsessed by polls. Neocon went around shopping for polls to make a point and s/he found three that s/he thought were a winner. They weren't.
Now you think it was a pissing contest. It wasn't.
51% of likely voters will not vote for Hillary no matter whom she runs against.

You've polled? What's the MOE?

BTW. It's not necessary to win 51% of the total vote. With one independent also running, 34% could be enough. With two independents, even 26% could be enough. And with the republicans as divided as they currently are, there certainly is room for at least one succesful independent candidate.

Posted by: Willem van Oranje [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 08:56 PM

Oh please Cindy Run Run Run... is she taking donations yet?

Posted by: Phoenix at July 9, 2007 09:00 PM

I think more Independents running, despite of which side of the fence they fall, would be a good thing for our democracy. This two party system often provides choices that are only a shade of gray away from one another.

I also think it would help to weed out some of the corruption on BOTH sides. In addition, it would help to get rid of some of the ineffective Lawmakers who are only there because the people are scared of the only other choice.

Most people are neither Liberal or Conservative on all issues. Most would rather have an option that forges more compromises that are better for everyone. For example, while I don't agree with many of you that abortion should be illegal, after the first trimester, I would support some restrictions. Not everyone gets what they want, but at least we are moving forward.

Posted by: Gaijin at July 9, 2007 09:27 PM

DL, you did check the sample of that study, did you? And you checked the margin of sampling error for that study, did you?

Oh please Willem, it's the same Gallup that you were just offering up as proof Rudy would be beat. Now, you're questioning the sample because it swung again? C'mon!

Incidentally, Bane is right, The Clinton/Bush fatigue will torpedo Hillarys efforts. I don't see any chance for Hillary to overcome that. And Obama? Snowballs chance in hell. (of course with global warming......)

Posted by: neocon [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 09:46 PM

If the race is going to be Guiligani vs Clinton, tell me the country hasn't moved to the left. This is middle left versus far left.

Posted by: Aztec [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 9, 2007 10:16 PM

Willem,

Hillary does look impressive - until you realise that no one likes her. Its really rather sad - she has sycophants and servants, but no friends.

There are people who would jump on a live grenade for both Bushes, for Bill Clinton...heck, even for Jimmy Carter...but in Hillary's case, I don't think there's anyone who would go to the mat out of love for her...

Posted by: Mark Noonan at July 10, 2007 12:53 AM

Plane,

less than wil die between September and May if the Democrats get their way and force a pull out date...

Posted by: Mark Noonan at July 10, 2007 01:14 AM

TL,

What you fail to note is the song is about how the Democratic party ruthlessly used Sheehan, and then tossed her in the trash when they were done using her as a fundraising/energising tool.

When you gain a bit more maturity - and some realism regarding the amorality inherent in liberalism - then you'll see these things clearly.

Posted by: Mark Noonan at July 10, 2007 01:52 AM

Hillary does look impressive - until you realise that no one likes her. Its really rather sad - she has sycophants and servants, but no friends.

mark - tell me why the MSM have not run the very same poll question on any GOP candidates? do you think guiliani (or any other GOP candidate) would possibly fare any better? hell no!

like much of fox nbews polling, the questions are designed to elicit a desired result - in this case, how much of the nation would not vote for another clinton. that said, if you asked the same question of Romney, or Guiliani, or Brownback, or Huckabee, or Thompson, rest ASSURED, they would all be polling above 51 percent (as a measure of what percentage would never vote for that candidate).

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 08:17 AM

but in Hillary's case, I don't think there's anyone who would go to the mat out of love for her...

Mark, I think Limbaugh (or possibly a caller to his show; not sure which) nailed it the other day. The question was, can you think of anything you've ever heard Hillary say that sounded like it came from the heart? I can't.

Posted by: Retired Spook [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 08:50 AM

kind of like romney's blatant pandering? and take it from someone who lived in new york during the entire giuliani tenure - the guy will be torn apart if he makes it through the primary. he has so many skeletons in the closet and his fortune to be mayor on 9/11 (of which he has mercilessly exploited to his advantage) will be hampered by his odd decision to hitch his wagon to the bush train - something he'll surely ride right off the cliff.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 09:04 AM

It's so sad that politics has to be decided by "skeletons in closets," instead of by who's actually qualified to be elected.

I guess Hitlary's gonna have a tough time getting elected, then? Yeah, right. The drive-by media will circle the commie wagons around the beyotch in pants...
