Support the Troops

This is from Blackfive - seems the Marines of the Fightin' 6th would like to hear from the American people:

If anyone -- you know, just sit down, jot us -- throw us an e- mail, write us a letter, let us know that the American public are behind us. Because we watch the news just like everyone else. It's broadcast over here in our chow halls and the weight rooms, and we watch that stuff, and we're a little bit concerned sometimes that America really doesn't know what's going on over here, and we get sometimes concerns that the American public isn't behind us and doesn't see the importance of what's going on. So that's something I think that all Marines, soldiers and sailors would like to hear from back home, that in fact, yes, they think what we're doing over here is important and they are in fact behind us.

Ok, Americans, the Marines are doing the hard part, you have the easy job: just let them know that you are supporting them in their battle for liberty. Not much asked - just a line or two.

To e mail the Marines, use this address:

RCT-6lettersfromh@gcemnf-wiraq.usmc.mil

And don't forget the soldiers, sailors and airmen who are also out there. A good clearing house for ways to support the troops is America Supports You.

We can't let the rag-tag collection of traitors, defeatists, cowards and ignoramouses here at home rule the day - we must let our men and women know that they are loved, honored and supported.

They are in the marines.

You got that right.

My Marine nephew certainly enjoyed our emails and care packages during both his Iraq tours.

I was a marine, so was my brother. My sister-in-law is going to Baghdad as a warrant officer, her son is in the Tikreet area as an Army captain, her daughter was recently in Kuwait.

You treason is hurting you liberals. Yes, it makes a difference. Yes, you're traitors.

Support the Troops by Supporting their Mission! Here's an update on what they face - GWOT Update:

Muslims Force Out Christian Congregation...in Paris!

Rushdie Knighthood Shocka! BBC News reports(via Lgf), "the people who selected Sir Salman Rushdie for knighthood apparently were taken completely by surprise when the Islamic world went nuts".

A Visit to Fatah's Torture Chamber Via Lgf, "Germany’s Spiegel Online has a piece on the new Gaza amusement park formerly known as Fatah’s Torture Chamber. Note: this was a facility owned and operated by “moderate” Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, who’s about to receive another financial windfall from the US".

Pakistan Building a New Nuke Plant ABC News Blotter reports (via Lgf), "News to make you feel safe and warm: as Pakistani MPs openly support Osama bin Laden and scream for the death of Salman Rushdie, satellite photos have revealed that Pakistan is nearing completion of a previously unknown plutonium production reactor".

Breaking: Muslims Angry : "New Rushdie protests after Britain defends award".

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - Muslim anger flared Thursday after Britain defended Salman Rushdie’s knighthood, with fresh protests against the novelist and Pakistani clerics bestowing a title on Osama bin Laden in response. Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets in Indian Kashmir and Pakistan, while Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, criticised the timing of the honour. ...

The Pakistani Ulema Council, a private body that claims to be the biggest of its kind in the country with 2,000 scholars, said it had given Al-Qaeda chief Bin Laden its “highest title for a Muslim warrior.”

“We are pleased to award the title of Saifullah (sword of Allah) to Osama bin Laden after the British government’s decision to bestow the title of ‘Sir’ on blasphemer Rushdie,” council chairman Maulana Tahir Ashrafi told AFP. [..]

Later Afzal Sahi — the speaker of the Punjab province assembly and a member of the Pakistan Muslim League party that backs President Pervez Musharraf — said during a debate that he would obey his duty as a Muslim to murder Rushdie. “If this man comes in front of me I will definitely kill him,” he said.

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul Vote Against House Resolution to Sanction Ahmadinejad

Yesterday the House of Representatives passed a resolution calling on the UN Security Council to sanction Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his threats against Israel. And the only two members of the House who voted against the resolution both happen to be presidential candidates: Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul.

Go Australia!

Iran's Failed Aussie Hostage Attempt: Apparently, when Iran captured those British sailors it wasn’t their first attempt; they went for an Australian Navy boarding team first: "Iran ‘unable to take Australians’."

Iranian naval forces in the Gulf tried to capture an Australian Navy boarding team but were vigorously repelled, the BBC has learned.

The incident took place before Iran successfully seized 15 British sailors and Marines in March. The lessons from the earlier attempt do not appear to have been applied in time by British maritime patrols. The 15 Britons were searching a cargo boat in the Gulf when they were captured over a boundary dispute. When Iranian Revolutionary Guards captured the British sailors and Royal Marines in March, it was not exactly their first attempt.

It turns out that Iranian forces made an earlier concerted attempt to seize a boarding party from the Royal Australian Navy.

The Australians, though, to quote one military source, “were having none of it”.

The BBC has been told the Australians re-boarded the vessel they had just searched, aimed their machine guns at the approaching Iranians and warned them to back off, using what was said to be “highly colourful language”.

"We can't let the rag-tag collection of traitors, defeatists, cowards and ignoramouses here at home rule the day"

You are pathetic Marky. Who would those traitors, defeatists, and cowards be in your mind Marky? I probably don't need to ask that question because everyone already knows the answer.

So if a soldier is a Democrat what does that make him? You demean his party, and call his belief system traitorous, and you call that supporting the troops? Or do you only support Republican troops?

In case you didn't notice Democrats have died for this country as well, and Democrats are currently serving in Iraq and risking their lives. To think patriotism, and love of country belongs solely to your party is shamefull, and patently anti-American.

And not to mention that most Americans side with Democrats on Iraq. So how does it feel to be in the minority Marky?
