Quotes of the Day: Schumer and Lott

From the AP:

GOP blocks Gonzales no-confidence vote
Senate Democrats fail to get the 60 votes needed to end debate

Republicans blocked the Senate's no-confidence vote on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales Monday, rejecting a symbolic Democratic effort to prod him from office despite blistering criticism from lawmakers in both parties.

I have said before, that the blog readers may hate or love the quotes of the day. That is the point. Some quotes will be ridculous. Some will be profound. Some will be inspiring.

And the quotes of the day belong to Senators Chuck Schumer and Trent Lott.

"If senators cast their vote with their conscience, they would speak with near unanimity that there is no confidence in the attorney general," said the resolution's author, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "Their united voice would undoubtedly dislodge the attorney general from the post that he should no longer hold."

My response: What a guy to speak of "conscience" when former MD Lt. Governor, Michael Steele is still waiting on an apology for his involvement and his staffers' involvement with stealing Steele's credit reports.

Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., said it was inappropriate for the Senate to hold forth on a member of the president's Cabinet.

"This is a nonbinding, irrelevant resolution proving what? Nothing," Lott said. "Maybe we should be considering a vote of no confidence on the Senate or on the Congress for malfunction and an inability to produce anything."

I found it highly amusing that the media outlets are blaming Republicans. They were "blocking." LOL!

Quite frankly, I do not think all that much of Gonzales, but, as said so many times, this was just another in a long line of Democrat political stunts, with more to come.

I wonder when they will pass actual legislation? Oh, I forgot, they have only been in power for 7 months.

Oh, I forgot, they have only been in power for 7 months.

William, the Donks are learning one of life's undeniable truths -- "time waits for no man". That 7 will soon be 17, and all those what-have-you-done-for-me-lately votors are going to be scratching their collective heads and asking themselves: "I voted for this?" Oh, well, back to the drawing board. There are only two sure things in life -- death and taxes (not politics).
