Political books for kids... Apparently Chris Matthews has major objections to the forthcoming kids book from World Ahead Publishing, "The Sky Is Not Falling" which is meant to counter the forthcoming liberal propaganda book, "Down-to-Earth Guide To Global Warming by Laurie David and Cambria Gordon.
Here is the video of Eric Jackson, the president of World Ahead Publishing, and author/activist Frances Moore Lappé debating political books for kids with Chris Matthews:
That was hysterical. Matthews is the biggest sycophant and poorest excuse for a journalist I can think of. He spent most of that interview musing about how "scary" the title was. And completely deflected the authors reference to the "actual" scare tactics of Davids book.
All in all it was one of the best sitcoms I've seen. Thanks.

Yeah, Mathews thinks its a big joke. I actually saw this live. It's hilarious how they don't even try to hide their hate for conservatism. Tolerance, except in politics.

you people are bunch of sycophants. She was absolutely correct. It teaches kids hate and fear which is exactly the wrong message to send to kids. You people are blind. Kids should embrace reading not learn to hate which is exactly what the title was made to do. Just like the "party of death" title was used to convey a message of hate. Grow up people

I found Matthews' last comment interesting. I've always felt those 'average Americans' interviewed for the Jay Leno program were plants, added for comic affect. But Matthews feels they are real Americans ignorant of the basic knowledge of their country. It is hard to believe that an adult would have lived so many years in a country and know so little about it. How is this possible?

Matthews is right in that this is ugly propaganda. Change the word "liberal" for the word "Jew" and it becomes crystal clear. Help, mom, there's a Jew (i.e. monster) under my bed. A jew is going to smack you down at your lemonade stand and take your money.
What is the "final solution" offered against liberals in "Help! Mom!"? To hate and fear liberals. That's the "final solution."
Where have I seen that phrase before?

Congressive,
What do you suppose the "final solution" is that Howard Dean has in mind? And should children be worried?
During a discussion with minority leaders and journalists on Monday, Howard Dean declared that Republicans are “a pretty monolithic party. They all believe the same. They all look the same. It’s pretty much a white Christian party.” He further stated that “the Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people”
"I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for," former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean told Democrats gathered at a Manhattan hotel, in quotes picked up by the New York Daily News.
“You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room?,” Dean asked to laughter. “Only if they had the hotel staff in here.”

A hateful propangada book aimed at 8 to 12 year olds is not justified by an adult speaking to a group of like-minded adults, neo. Your argument that "Oh yeah, well, your side is bad, too" is simply an admission that your side is bad.
Do you ever actually address the issue at hand? Is diversion and obfuscation all you got? The topic is if smear politics is appropriate for children's books. You got anything on that? Yes, I know Jefferson hid money in his freezer, bla bla bla. Can you stay on topic?
Hate doesn't justify hate. Children are particularly susceptible to over-simplified villains, irrational fears and thoughtless bullying. A children's book that paints a group of politically like-minded American citizens as monsters is at best inappropriate and at worse the beginning of the next civil war.

Wow, for a liberal, you seem all grown up. I am merely mocking you, and laughing at you for getting your panties all bunched up over a book title. And as usual, you don't get it; what a shock.
