Saw this live on Fox's 1/2 Hours News Hour. Ouch! Dennis Miller really shredded Harry Reid (T-Treasonist).
Posted by: Freedom1 at June 12, 2007 06:24 AM
Now that was funny. Did you guys know Miller was a rabid leftist until 9/11? Smart guy.
Posted by: jbiccum at June 12, 2007 07:57 AM
If words were lethal, Reid would be in ICU at the very least. Wow -- Dennis, tell us how you really feel.
Seriously, net favorability numbers of -26% -- that can't be a plus for the Donks in '08.
Posted by: Retired Spook at June 12, 2007 09:29 AM
Is he a comic? If so, Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert are miles ahead of him in the satirical department. His material could use a little more levity; he takes himself way too seriously and thus comes off as a bore.
There must be someone out there on the Right who can match the Left in humor.
Posted by: Canadian Observer at June 12, 2007 09:36 AM
Dennis Miller is a sad, sad joke. The man believes that we were right to invade Iraq because it "made Americans feel better about themselves". Seriously. That's his reasoning.
What a smart guy.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker do a decent job. They aren't comics but the satire really bites liberals in the arse.
Posted by: Falgore at June 12, 2007 09:47 AM
Actually CO, he has a vary successful radio talk show. Its pretty damn funny too.
Posted by: jbiccum at June 12, 2007 10:27 AM
Colin, we're still waiting to hear you go on for days on how our military and the mafia are the same. I would love to hear it.
Posted by: jbiccum at June 12, 2007 10:30 AM
C.O., you never have anything useful to say about anything, your a bore. Is he a comic you ask, are you that big of a idiot really. He has been far more sucessful than eighter of the two guys you mention and if given an IQ test to all three he would beat both of them even if they combine their score. Why do you even visit this site? why dont you concern yourself with whats going on in your own crap country and us Americans will worry about ours. If the writers on this post said the sky was blue you would argue that too, so take care of yours and we will take care of ours, your country is as weak as your arguements.

Ah, Mistarye, if only the U.S. would worry solely about it's own affairs and stay out of the invasion and occupation business; I would be one happy puppy. Unfortunately, what the U.S. does on the international scene has an effect on us all, in one way or another, whether we like it or not.
So, Mistarye, all of us crap countries around the world have a legitimate interest in what foreign policies you implement, whether you like it or not.
Posted by: Canadian Observer at June 12, 2007 12:38 PM
CO,
Careful, always biting the hand that feeds you. I mean the US buys 80% of the crap you hosers produce.
You'll take our money but not a relationship? Hrm, seems to be the definition of a whore no?
And anyway, Dennis Miller has more intellect in his ring finger than your entire family of knuckle draggers could even imagine. What he was talking about was not meant to be comedic. It was a biting and insightful analysis of an absolutely patehtic Senator from NV. Only a fool like you would confuse the two.

Colin, I'd like you to point out where Miller said that he agreed with the invasion of Iraq because it "made americans feel good". Verbatim. Find it. And make sure it's in context. I know how you hate that.
Dennis Miller was very left leaning person before 9/11. Post-9/11 he drastically changed his outlook on life. Even as a leftist, he was and still is a very intellectual person.
P.S. I think Stephen Colbert is a very smart individual person. Just saying.

There must be someone out there on the Right who can match the Left in humor. - CO
Dennis would have to play in the minor leagues to match the sophmoric humor of Colbert and Stewart.
Dennis was beyond that humor after his SNL days.
I wonder if the MSM will start to broadcast Reids horrific approval ratings with every story?

neocon-
If Miller is so funny why doesn't he have a nightly comedy show that averages a million people a night like Stewart and Colbert? Is he too busy brown nosing papa bear O'reilly once a week to do that? Please, Miller has never been and never will be as funny/popular as Colbert or Stewart.
Posted by: babyeatingliberal at June 12, 2007 04:54 PM
Babyeater, he had his own HBO show for 8 years, hes hosted the Emmy awards and MTV music awards amongst many other gigs along the way. Those other two guys resumes are nowhere near Mr. Millers even if you combine the two. Just because you dont understand his vast knowledge of the human language dosent mean hes not funny it means your no so quick on the uptake.

Mistarye-
He did all that when he was a self-described liberal, and then 9/11 happened he crapped his pants and became a neocon and unfunny. His obscure literary and linqguistic humor can be funny but what has he been doing for the past six years? Besides fluffing O'reilly that is.
Posted by: babyeatingliberal at June 12, 2007 05:23 PM

Also, Stewart hosted the grand daddy of all awards shows the 78th annual academy awards. So suck on that one.
Posted by: babyeatingliberal at June 12, 2007 05:26 PM
Hes got another HBO comedy special coming out, when does Colbert and Stewarts premier? I personally think that hes just as funny as he was back then its just that he is now thinking rationally.

Do you honestly have to ask that question? Most of Dennis's humor goes right over the head of the average "TV Viewer".
That's why Colbert and Stewart are on TV. Sophmoric humor.
Posted by: neocon at June 12, 2007 05:28 PM
Miller has won an Emmy award Babykiller!
Posted by: Mistarye at June 12, 2007 05:29 PM
Hey neocon, when I looked up *sophomoric* in the dictionary, I got this:
"suggestive of or resembling the traditional sophomore; intellectually pretentious, overconfident, conceited, etc., but immature: sophomoric questions."
which seems to be a pretty good description of a ridiculous statement like "Most of Dennis's humor goes right over the head of the average 'TV Viewer'."

I don't get it, an angry white man calling another person names. I lost count how many different names he call Reid. Why do conservatives find that funny?
Posted by: Plainjane at June 12, 2007 09:10 PM
Miller: "Second, the voice: If it's possible to make Mr. Limpet sound like Demosthenes, Reid does it every time he opens his ashen piehole and haltingly forces out that tremulous pale grey oratory that sounds like it's oozing from a stuck calking gun."
Apart from the fact that neither the allusion to an "ashen piehole" or the analogy between "tremulous pale grey oratory" and a "stuck calking gun" makes much, if any sense, the real problem is with the set-up itself: Reid makes Mr. Limpet sound like Demosthenes? Surely that can't be what he intended to say, because that destroys his argument right there.
Posted by: Ricorun at June 12, 2007 10:20 PM
Not at all Rico,
Dennis is saying that when Reid is compared to Mr. Limpet (Don Knotts); Mr. Limpets stature rises significantly, to the level of Demosthenes. Just FYI.
I have always thought of Reid as a more feminine Don Knotts.
Posted by: neocon at June 12, 2007 11:05 PM
Ever hear of a little show called "Saturday Night Live"? Your two little shows are mice compared to that show. SNL is where REAL comedians go to start their showbiz careers. I admit, Stewart did some standup, but Colbert is a joke.
