Twenty years ago, Ronald Reagan, standing at the Brandenburg Gate, rendered his famous challenge to Mikhail Gorbachev to "Tear down this wall!"
The famous address was written by Peter Robinson.
Immediately upon graduation, Robinson applied for a position at the White House. In an event he describes as a "fluke"[1], he was given a job as the chief speechwriter for Vice President Bush. In what he calls a "second fluke", he was then transferred to President Reagan's staff as a special assistant and speechwriter, where he authored the Berlin Wall address.
This address was delivered by Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate in West Berlin, West Germany on 12 June 1987 and contained the sentence "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

I, and many million others are central and eatern europeans who lived in the times when the "wall" was broken, and important too, the time before and the time after.
It is insulting that you say your president made the wall fall because of words written for him to say. If you were us, it was not words that made the changes, and it was not as simple as that.
He was just a man, and there were many of them at this side of the wall too, who had to think for themselves and write their own lives.
It seems a very simple way of looking at the history, and i think it is still the problem with your country today.

Why do you love this man? He trained and funded Al Qaeda and then ran away and let Afghanistan descend into chaos which AQ would capitalize on, he sold WMDs to Saddam Hussein and gave him satellite pictures of where Iranian regiments were so he could use them on them, he funded millions of dollars to South American drug cartels, he sold weapons to Iran directly after the hostage crisis, jesus what more does this man need to do? He was a HORRIBLE president, and any economic benefits he did give (which he did improve vastly, I'll give him that he definately helped our economy) are completely overshadowed by the fact that the man funded and armed TERRORISTS AND DRUG DEALERS.
The fact that you look up to such a morally bankrupt man speaks volumes of you neoconservatives.

Milan's post reminds me of an old joke. How many central / eastern Europeans does it take to write sadly idiotic drivel? Apparently, the answer is "one, only one."
Hey Milan -- How many years do you think it would have taken Eastern Europe and the U.S.S.R. to throw off the yoke of Communism if it hadn't been for Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II??? Think it would have happened before 2025??? Me, I don't think so.

The fact that you mock such a great man, really shows how much of a sad, sad man you are. Are you a man?
BTW, did you read that article yet Colin?

Oh okay Jbiccum, so you love men who fund terrorists and drug dealers? Yeah what a great guy he was!
Jesus you people are such hypocrites, you cry foul when Clinton gets a blowjob, but oh Reagan can f'n train terrorists and fund drug dealers, and he's an untouchable saint!
Wake up---Ronald Reagan was a terrible President. The man is the reason that the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Or do you support that too?
Funny how all you Reagan-ites can say is "You're dumb, Reagan is great, you're dumb" and not even attempt to debunk the claims I've made.
Oh yeah! Because they're all true!
Nice job neocons---I'll make sure to take note that you support terrorists and drug cartels.

Oh I read it Jbiccum....of course though like usual you have ZERO defense or even attempt to defend your hero Reagan.
The man funded terrorists and drug cartels. Thats an undisputable fact that cannot be changed. You support men who fund terrorists and drug cartels. Very simple to understand. You call yourself an American?
