Some Very Important News from May 11, 2007

Vice President Cheney reminds Iran that, no kidding, we won't allow a bunch of lunatic mullahs to control nuclear weapons:

The last time I stood on the deck of the Stennis was five years ago, during Operation Enduring Freedom. There's been a lot of activity in the five years since, and this warship and the JCS Strike Group have been at the center of many great events. It's not easy duty to serve in this part of the world. It's a place of tension and many conflicts. Throughout the region our country has interests to protect and commitments to honor. With two carrier strike groups in the Gulf, we're sending clear messages to friends and adversaries alike. We'll keep the sea lanes open. We'll stand with our friends in opposing extremism and strategic threats. We'll disrupt attacks on our own forces. We'll continue bringing relief to those who suffer, and delivering justice to the enemies of freedom. And we'll stand with others to prevent Iran from gaining nuclear weapons and dominating this region.

If anyone really thinks that President Bush would hold back from striking at Iran's nuclear infrastructure then that person simply has not been paying attention these past six years. Iran will not be allowed to build and deploy nuclear weapons - it has been said again and again, and if push comes to shove, then the USS Stennis and other American forces will make certain that the mullahs don't get what they may not be allowed to have.

So what would you say if I thought that Iran was the best example of a Democracy in the Mideast (not including Israel). If you can't think of a better example, then how in the heck do we spread Democracy by invading the best (although definitely not to our standards) example in the region.

As if we haven't messed things up enough over their already...

Cheers!

So, what would you say if I thought that Erica was the second-best example of a moron, here on B4B? Erica, you're right behind Dr. Rerun.

Cheers, wanker!

Iran is a democracy? Man, I cant belive it but it IS worse than I thought.

Thank god a Dem isnt the president. They would just throw diplomats at the problem for years and years, until oops its too late. Mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv.

The far left isnt allied with al-queda. They just enable them.

Thats what I thought the responses would be. Thanks for the great insight!

Cheers!

"So what would you say if I thought that Iran was the best example of a Democracy in the Mideast (not including Israel)"

I'd say in comparison to the region you may be correct; however, a dog that is only a little rabid... is still rabid.

Amy Proctor over at Bottm Line Up Front posted this video recently of your beloved Iran:

http://amyproctor.squarespace.com/blog/2007/4/30/immodest-iranian-women-arrested.html

Please note that this is the same country and government that executed a 16 year old girl last year for being raped. Please note that this is the same country that has clearly threatened and continues to threaten the United States and her Allies with destruction. See this video posted April 16, 2006 on MEMRI:

http://switch5.castup.net/frames/20041020_MemriTV_Popup/video_480x360.asp?ai=214&ar=1125wmv&ak=null

Whatever you or anyone else believes about the political system of Iran is insignificant. The fact remains: They are a clear and present danger to western civilization.

Dear Eric

There are other examples of democratic (elected) governments in the middle east...let's review.

1) Isreal (just fought war against #2 also #3)
2) Lebanon (just fought war against #1)
3) Palestine (elected terrorists)(fighting with#1)
4) Iraq (in a civil war)
5) Afghanistan (top producer of heroine in world)
6) Pakistan (inept corrupt democractic gov collapsed Musharaff now in control)

Hmmmm
Not a very good track record. I thought democracies weren't suppose to go to war with each other and bring peace and stability.... at least that's what Dick Cheney said

Posted by: Amp [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2007 01:54 PM

Lebanon did not fight against Israel, Hizbollah fought against Israel. Lebanon was caught in the middle because it was unable to prevent hizbollah from firing rockets at Israel. The government of Lebanon had no connection to hizbollah's actions. I know that there were political leaders of Hizbollah in the parliament but they were necessary to keep Lebanon stable after the very bloody civil war. Should we have bombed Ireland because the IRA etc. used them as a base and hideout?

Lebanon is probably the closest you will find to a democracy in the middle east and turning it to rubble was probably not the bst way to help create new ones or indeed create a friendly neighbour.

Amp:
2) Lebanon: under Syrian control.
3) Palestine: no such country.
5) Afghanistan: Not in the Middle East, but Central Asia.
6) Pakistan: Not in the Middle East, but Central Asia.

You've got a pretty good track record yourself!

Uh, amp? How about Kuwait?

Posted by: kimberly4bush [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2007 09:49 PM

Kimberly,

Since when has Kuwait been a democracy? Answer: It's not.

Cheers!

Posted by: Eric [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 13, 2007 01:42 AM

Macker

Thank you for backing up my point. Democracy isn't doing well in that region.

BTW
Palestine authority is a democratically elected government just like I stated (terrorist controlled thought)
