We do concentrate too much on our domestic battles, but we need very much to remember that America's best are out there taking the fight to the enemy:
KALSU — Paratroopers intercepted an insurgent mortar team here south of Baghdad after receiving indirect fire Friday evening. Artillerymen by trade, the Paratroopers of 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment (PFAR), 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division were dispatched to respond to the insurgent mortar team, which consisted of eight insurgents.“I was expecting just another quiet evening until I got the call over the radio explaining the situation,” said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Bobby Joe Williams, a gunnery sergeant.
The insurgent mortar team was observed returning to their mortar system and individual weapons cache site immediately following the indirect fire attack.
A platoon from the Battery B “Eagles” were conducting another mission in the area when they received the call to change their mission and detain the individuals seen leaving the cache site. The Battery A “Falcons” then quickly assembled the battalion’s quick reaction force and moved to team up with their Eagle counterparts.
“My Paratroopers were ready and willing to capture the individuals behind the recent mortar attacks,” said Williams.
Members of Bravo Battery immediately detained nine individuals, while Alpha Battery retrieved weapons from the cache site and pursued a fleeing insurgent nearly three-quarters of a mile over rough terrain.
“After chasing him for over 45 minutes through six canals, we were very proud to show him he wasn’t getting away from this group of Paratroopers,” said U.S. Army Capt. Matthew Thompson, the Alpha Battery commander.
Ten individuals, six AK-47s with numerous magazines, and a mortar system were captured. The detainees are currently held for further questioning.
“You had better be in some excellent shape, if you want to try and outrun the Paratroopers of Falcon Battery,” said Thompson.
As the Iraqi and Coalition troop buildup continues throughout the spring; security plans in effect are expected to improve and rekindle hope within the Iraqi population.
That must be an in-shape unit...'cause you gotta figure that the terrorist was running light, while ours were running with full equipment.
These are the best of the best and they deserve our respect, our prayers and our unwavering support as they fight for victory.

From the standpoint of Bush supporters, the real war, to prove the value of his leadership, continues...to be lost.
From the standpoint of conservatives, the real war, for truth, continues...to be won.
Look forward to your responses.
We have never lost a battle in Iraq, but according to harry reid we should surrender, because the terrorists can blow up some cars.
From the standpoint of this Bush supporter, you ought to stop trying to appear intelligent, JAT. You obviously can't write; four of your posts I read in this blog today make little to no sense. You type run-on sentences, and don't know the first thing about punctuation.
Face it, fool--you're an armchair quarterback, and not a very good one at that...
Accept nothing less than VICTORY in Iraq!
Read in the paper this morning that our Dem from California Diane Fienstien's husband has two companies that rely soley on military contracts, true? Her position could help him, yes? Has she?Why was this little blurb in the back of the paper and Halliburton is always on the front with large pictures? Dindy

Dindy,
DiFi sat on a committee that awarded defense contracts. She recently stepped down from said committee, and the drive-by media has ignored it. They're biased, and with the DemocRATs in power, we're going to worry more about the firings of eight U.S. Attorneys than we do about how politicians misuse our tax dollars to benefit themselves. I mean, come on--do you think John Conyers or Pat Leahey are going to go after one of their own? Hell, they've done nothing about Jefferson or Mullohan(sp?)...
