Recall Harry Reid?

As a citizen of the great State of Nevada, I've started to detect some winds of change out here - and they aren't blowing in Harry Reid's favor. Details over at Battle Born Politics.

I hope Nevada can do it.

Give 'em hell, Mark--

Go on the talk shows there... expose what you found out in your book!

Get that traitorous bastard out of the Senate!

Leo,

There could be a great confluence of events and passions vis a vis Harry, the book and the War on Terrorism.

Reid was once one of the good Democrats - that is the reason Nevadans kept rewarding him with higher office...son of a hard-rock miner who had to work hard to get ahead...but now Reid's been captured by the kook left base of the Democratic Party, and people in Nevada are getting fed up with it.

harry reid should resign.

RECALL HARRY REID!!!!

Do it now!

Do it for America!

There must be some backlash from Reid-tard's lastest buffoonery--even Chuckie Schumer is out there spinning for Harry...

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2007 04:56 AM

With this recent polling data for Nevada showing strong support for Reid's position, Godspeed on this effort, Mark:

http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070319/NEWS10/703190324/1002

"As far as funding the war, 47 percent of voters said Congress should block additional funding for troops to be sent to Iraq while continuing to fund troops currently there. Twenty percent said all funding should be blocked, while 19 percent said all funding should be allowed and 14 percent said they were not sure."

Gar,

That is 66% on favor of funding the war...which is why the Democrats have been dancing around and not pressing the issue to a vote for a few weeks...they've been hoping that President Bush will blink and get them off the hook.

Posted by: Mark Noonan [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2007 09:56 AM

gar - just one more manufactured controversy to take the heat lamps off bush and the "party of fealty"..

word on the streets in iraq from our troops is that they have no idea why they are there, who they are supposed to be fighting, nor what their mission is - all they know is that, thanks to the complicit GOP, they have just had their TOURS EXTENDED! talk about supporting the troops - HA!

as it was quoted form one soldier speaking to the diarist of a prominent leftwing website which i will not bother sourcing because it will predictably devolve into a flamewar about the legitimacy of something quoted from such site:

"We are ready to lynch Republicans."

take it for what it is. i'd venture to guess if i was out there humping 80 pounds of gear in 100 degree heat day after day watching my fellow serviceman getting maimed or killed, i'd probably be thinking the same thing.

Posted by: conscriptor [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2007 09:59 AM

conscriptor,

The vast majority of the troops do not agree with that one person posting on the lib site.

Posted by: Joel [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2007 10:46 AM

How do we know what "the vast majority of the troops" think? People on both sides seem to claim their loyalty, but all I see are random quotes from the odd soldier here and there, which is unconvincing. Anyone making the equation "Funding the War = Supporting the Troops" assumes they know what the troops think.

While a recall, if successful, is an expression of the will of the electorate...the Dems have set into motion thier plan for an unprecedented power grab.

Dennis the Menace Kookcinch (D-OH)is filing articles of impeachment against Cheney and Kieth Ellison al-Detroiti (D-Mn) has already filed articles of impeachment against President Bush.

This is an unprecedented move to usurp Presidential power. Now Nancy Pilosi's trip to Syria becomes all the more clear. She is 2nd in line for the Presidency, and will become President in the event of a successful impeachment of Bush AND Cheney.

This has been the Demo plan all along.

Posted by: phnx at April 24, 2007 11:17 AM

yano - 16% of the military say they are Democrat. 16%, consitently in annual polls. OK?

Read before writing, what a concept.

Posted by: Kahn [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2007 12:06 PM

Mark,

If you want to mount a successful recall, you might want to check out how California got rid of their govenor (then got Arnie), or how back in the late 80's Omaha kicked out a sitting mayor. It takes lots of work, organization, and publicity. In Omaha it came from the local (conservative) newspaper telling everyone what the then mayor was up to. Now with the internest it should be easier to get the word out about Reid's mis-deeds.

Kahn: You may not be old enough to remember a time when time being a "Republican" or "Democrat" didn't automatically determine your opinion on every issue.

You also fail to address my point that Funding the War does not equal Supporting the Troops. I'm also enough of an adult to ignore your consistently insulting tone and spurious information.

Recall Harry Reid?
Hmmmm:In another post not so very far, far away, there was talk of removing another fellow from office for being out of step with his constitiuents, and failing to meet the responsibilities of his high office: Bush.
Many conservatives feeling betrayed by bush are coming to this conclusion.
Look forward to your responses.

"That is 66% on favor of funding the war...which is why the Democrats have been dancing around and not pressing the issue to a vote for a few weeks...they've been hoping that President Bush will blink and get them off the hook."

Mark,

I'm getting whiplash from that spin. Read again what the poll reveals:

"47 percent of voters said Congress should block additional funding for troops to be sent to Iraq while continuing to fund troops currently there. Twenty percent said all funding should be blocked, while 19 percent said all funding should be allowed and 14 percent said they were not sure."

At least the way the poll was phrased, 47% of the respondents do not want any funding for any additional troops. This is actually MORE extreme than the Democrats' position, which would fund the surge and the ongoing activities, but set a timetable for withdrawal. Only 19% of Nevadans agree that funding should be allowed for both the surge and ongoing activities. How is Harry Reid going to be recalled when 47% of Nevadans hold an even darker view of the war than he does?

Bringing down Reid, is a good idea, and at the same time, it will send a message to his mentor-
GEORGE SOROS, the Socalist Radical, who has doled
out millions and millions of dollars to various organizations(the parent one being MoveOn.org)
so he can change America as we have known it. Soros wants to change America, to HIS way of thinking, Socalism, Atheist and Billionaire, who keeps HIS monies off shore-to avoid taxes-like so many of his ilk. This arrogant creep, doesn't even hide the fact that he funnels money between all these organizations, to reach his goals of bringing down our Country. He should go back to where the hell he came from, and take his lackey,
Reid, etc.with him. People need to open their eyes, to what these radicals are trying to do to our own country, and what agendas they are pushing
and aiming towards. And one hint: It ain't freedom-
