A call for Surrender!

Since "Filthy Harry" Reid has seen it fit to declare surrender yesterday, I call on him and other like mindeds to immediately lead a delegation to Baghdad and offer themselves as prisoners of war to the local insurgents, Al Qaeda operatives, and other terrorist elements in Iraq.

After which, brave men like my son and his comrades can once again be free to continue and to win this war without further interference from Reid and his merry band of seditionists.

Go ahead, Mr. Reid. Put your money where your mouth is. You want surrender? You take the lead.

That is all.

Hear, Hear! Leo!

Harry Reid is a TRAITOR!

72 virgins for Harry?

Posted by: SEW at April 20, 2007 08:28 PM

What you are suggesting makes absolutely no sense. Please explain how one leads to the other.

Posted by: carsick [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 08:29 PM

What ever happened to all of those Liberal human shields who wanted so much to protect Saddam and his army from America's military at the start of the war? Why aren't they over in Iraq right now protecting our troops and Iraqi families from the terrorists?

Perhaps Harry could lead a delegation of pro-surrender Democrats to act as human shields and protect our troops from the terrorists? Harry and the Democrats should be safe enough. The terrorists certainly wouldn't want to injure those who are working so diligently toward their mutual goal -- America's defeat, retreat, and surrender -- leaving Iraq and it's oil revenues to Al Qaeda!!!

AAR

Posted by: AAR [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 08:32 PM

Harry Reid says we lost the war. In effect, Reid is surrendering. He may as well make good on his words by leading all his surrender monkeys to Iraq to present themselves as prisoners of war.

Reid and the surrender monkeys want to surrender. I say, go right ahead. We'll pick them up after the war's over and we emerge victorious.

The rest of America will win this war quite swimmingly without the likes of Reid, Pelosi, Kerry & Murtha.

Posted by: Leo Pusateri [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 08:57 PM

Better yet, for Pelosi, Lantos and anyone else who thinks that negotiation will will somehow accomplish what military force cannot, let's suspend the Logan act and allow them go to Iraq and offer to negotiate face-to-face with Al Qaeda, the Mahdi Army, and all the other bad guys. Working out the conditions of Harry's release should be especially interesting.

Leo,

You ever here that song "Land of Confusion"? Sounds like your living it....

Cheers!

Posted by: Eric [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 09:32 PM

Leo,
Here's where you lost me: "In effect, Reid is surrendering." If the war is lost, how is Reid surrendering? If the war is won...well, obviously that isn't the case. If the war is winning then it should be apparent to others than just the administration and the 30+% of his support shows. No matter which way though, an exit strategy does not automatically imply surrendering to al queda. Iraq is much more complex than America vs. al queda.
Please explain how you think it isn't.

Posted by: carsick [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 09:45 PM

Carsick, either you have difficulty with reading comprehension, or you merely have your liberal blinders on.

To admit defeat is, by definition, surrender.

Posted by: Leo Pusateri [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 10:02 PM

Eric, what is confusing is that elected representatives of the United States of America will go so far out of their way to impede a war effort, and openly (and falsely) declare our defeat during wartime.

What is confusing is that a major party will actually adopt a political strategy and set themselves up whereby the only way they as a party can benefit is by ensuring that we as a nation are defeated during a time of war.

Sounds like your party is not only living in the Land of Confusion--they wrote its very Constitution.

"cheers."

Ah Leo, you're being too hard on poor Harry. After all, just today he said how he wants us to succeed in Iraq:

"no one wants us to succeed in Iraq more than Democrats."

Someone explain to me how you succeed in a war you've already lost. What a buffoon.

Posted by: jules [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 20, 2007 10:49 PM

Harry Reid should resign. His statement was so over the top, so way over the line even for this dem party, that he should resign, not just as majority leader but as senator.

Posted by: james allegro at April 21, 2007 12:39 AM

After harry reid resigns from the senate, he could go to Iraq and act as a human shield for al queda.

Posted by: james allegro at April 21, 2007 12:49 AM

Pass this on please before it is too late. Again the Democrat Liberals like Harry Reid and Nancy Palosi are telling lies about our troops and country. This battle with the terrorist will be long and hard. Our President has always said that. Common sense tells us this as well. Call or write your congressperson NOW. Let them know your dis pleasure with the comments Harry Reid and the Liberal Democrats are making about we have lost this war. Don’t let then make you think this is Viet Nam. The Liberal Democrats cut off fund to Veit Nam in the 70’s and that is why we lost that war. They’re doing the same thing again. Do not let them succeed with their lies. This means the survival of our country. DO it now call your congressperson. It is that important. We get closer and closer to a communist socialist Country everyday the Liberals stay in power and mouth off. Fight them now with words. Because if you do nothing now you will have to fight them with weapons to gain your freedom back. Harry Reid and Nancy Palosi need to be tried and if convicted they need to be executed for treason for their assistance to our enemy the terrorist.

Great Idea Leo...they can take all the "white flag
wavers with them to Iraq-Cindy Sheehan, Pelosi,
Murtha, Webb, Reid, Boxer, etal. Sounds good to me-

WASHINGTON - Military planners have abandoned the idea that standing up Iraqi troops will enable American soldiers to start coming home soon and now believe that U.S. troops will have to defeat the insurgents and secure control of troubled provinces.

Training Iraqi troops, which had been the cornerstone of the Bush administration's Iraq policy since 2005, has dropped in priority, officials in Baghdad and Washington said.

So much for: "as they stand up, we'll stand down."

So now we'll fight insurgents in the middle of a civil war.

Dear Friends at Blogs for Bush, Harry Reid was right.

How sad, terribly sad.

What a mess. An absolute mess you're dear commandant has gotten us into.

This was never...never about "saving the Iraqi people". We did not go into Iraq for that. We did not go into Iraq to "bring democracy to the middle east."

I read the trash you post, and as seemingly always think, what will it take for you guys to see?

It's not about "fighting them there, so we don't have to fight them here."

What a piss poor excuse for leadership. What a piss poor "President".

Tonight again, you sicken me.

So when the USA withdrew from Việt Nam, you all became communists?

Posted by: Willem van Oranje [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 01:48 AM

So when the USA withdrew from Việt Nam, you all became communists?

No, they all flocked to the Democrat party.

Otherwise, just a few million Asians in Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos lost their lives and their freedoms. Untold thousands more died in rickety boats in the South China Sea escaping the 'wonderful communists.'

The only difference will be, the North Vietnamese Communists didn't have designs on the destruction of Western Civilization and imposing their perverted view of Islam on the entire world. Jihadists do!

Posted by: Lew Waters [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 02:17 AM

Lew--c'mon--don't bother Wilhelm with such trivialities.

The plight of people doesn't matter to them, because they have theirs, silly, boy!

"So now we'll fight insurgents in the middle of a civil war." Posted by: raker13

Again, I'd like to point out what should be obvious to everyone. The War in Afghanistan is an Afghani Civil War. The Taliban are Afghanis. The Karzai government is Afghani. Afghanis are fighting Afghanis.

In fact, Afghanistan was in the midst of a Civil War before the US declared war on it, three weeks after 9/11. The Afghanistan Northern Alliance was fighting a war against the Afghanistan Taliban. Today, the war in Afghanistan is between Afghanistan's Karzai government/US allies vs. the Afghanistan Taliban/Al Qaeda terrorists.

For those who want to run from Iraq on the basis that Iraq is in the midst of a Civil War, logic suggests that the same reasoning/course of action would also have to apply to Afghanistan's Civil War.

So, Raker13, when will Harry Reid declare defeat and surrender in Afghanistan's Civil War?

Posted by: Freedom1 [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 06:06 AM

Perhaps Harry could lead a delegation of pro-surrender Democrats to act as human shields and protect our troops from the terrorists?

He could, AAR, but don't expect his delegation to stand in front of our troops. They'd be shielding the terrorists, because, after all, "we're the occupiers, the imperialists, the bad guys." Just ask Kerry, Durbin, Murtha, Elsie, and Cindy...

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 10:51 AM

Leo,
My son is ten and when he makes up the terms and definitions in a game, he usually wins. In the adult world one generally doesn't have that option.
And, the last I looked we were not the United States of North Vietnam. Are you really claiming we surrendered to North Vietnam?

Posted by: carsick [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 10:56 AM

...let's suspend the Logan act and allow them go to Iraq and offer to negotiate face-to-face with Al Qaeda, the Mahdi Army, and all the other bad guys.

I agree, Bigfoot--they knew they'd be safe visiting Assad, as they would visiting I'minajihad. However, let them travel to Sadr City, or to the caves of Afghanistan to negotiate. Or to Manila, where the drive-by's are ignoring terrorism, because it isn't AQ. Let them go and talk to all these guys.

How many do you think will return home?

Piglosi is a drive-by-created superstar, nothing more. Reid-tard is a puppet of the left, another Tom Daschle. Follow the money--it leads to Soros...

I think it would be great of 43 to send Jenna and Barbara shopping outside of the green zone. No helicopters, no military escort, no flack jackets, just the two young'ins setting the example of American chutzpah. They would be like two little "bad seed Rhoda's" screaming in unison, "gimmie those rugs!"

Jen, Babs, and an American Express card. (We could put a little of that camo under eye football smears on them to make them look tough.)

Or...hey Leo, howzabout YOU jumpin' on the next flight out there and blogging from the thick of battle on the "war on terror!"

I would so look forward to your posts on how great it is over there. You could do Halliburton food reviews, Blackwater gadget reviews, clothing reviews and general good news and comments. It would bring a fresh perspective to this blog. We could title it: Good news from Iraq with Leo. Jen and Babs could be the entertainment and weather reporters.

Sounds good to me.

thanks to our President, we don't have the terrorists over here and the people who hate him only hate him because he has Christian principles unlike other presidents we have had. How about indicting Pelosi for impersonating our President on her recent trip?

Posted by: shirley byrne at April 21, 2007 01:47 PM

By the way,

Lucas, have you enlisted yet?

You weren't trying to fool us libs were you? Are you one of those college young republican's who can serve us better here, pounding away at the keyboard, entering into business with your oxford shoes, white shirt and tie? Contributing to the American business establishment?

You go Sir. Lead us by example.

Raker, you imbecile, my son is there, so if you ask if I have a dog in this fight, my answer is HELL YES.

You're a dispicable a-whole, raker.

Posted by: Leo Pusateri [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 02:46 PM

I read you have a son in this fight. Honestly Leo, may he be fearsome and heroic, and come home safely.

I asked YOU to go over and join him, blogging from the front lines.

YOU.

Posted by: raker13 [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 02:58 PM

Raker, honestly--I'm not the one trying to sabotage and de-fund his mission. I'm not the one telling him and his comrades that all is lost.

I'm not the one demoralizing troops and emboldening enemies.

Yes, Shirley, the President kept the terrorists out of the US and brought them to Iraq and instead of American citizens dying in daily bomb blasts, it is Iraqi men, women and children. But I guess we all know that an American life means a hell of a lot more than an Iraqi one.

Shirley, I would take Jimmy Carter's form of Christian behavior, any day, over that of Bush's.
Carter has more of the teachings of Jesus in his little finger than Bush has in his whole body.

Harry reid and nancy pelosi, the gift that keeps on giving-to the terrorists.

Posted by: james allegro at April 21, 2007 07:34 PM

Leo you're an embarrassment to military families, be a MAN and make your argument with out constantly hiding behind your son and pretending that you are all knowing with regards to what is demoralizing our troops. You're nothing but a coward who hopes to gain sympathy from those who disagree with your by throwing out the fact that you have a family member in Iraq....Many of us do, so make what ever point you want, but stand up and make it, don't hide behind our troops, it's insulting to them and to the rest of us.

As opposed to Opuss, who's an embarrassment to the human race...

Perhaps what Reid is doing is trying to create awareness that President Bush is holding our troops hostage in Iraq for a lost cause, the Iraq war. Harry Reid obviously can read a poll. And the polls are saying, as William Schneider points out (via Atrios), that the American people want the occupation of Iraq to end.

Posted by: Christian Wright at April 23, 2007 12:05 AM

Bill Schneider? Artios? Now, there's two sources we all turn to, when we want fair, objective, and balanced views. Bwahahaha!!!

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 23, 2007 05:26 AM

There is a reason retired military members are returning from Iraq and running for office. And there is a reason they are running and winning as Democrats.
