Dick Cheney is the best vice-president america has ever had. I wish him well and hope he continues to serve. By the way, President Bush is giving a great speech right now. Man, he really brought his A game today. God bless you President Bush, the greatest president in american history.

It seems to me that there was an article written several months ago that predicted that very possibility. I went thru my "stack of stuff" but could not find it.
If I remember correctly, the article implied that Cheney would resign due to "health" issues that were contrived (imagine that!) but believable due to his multiple heart attacks.
I will refrain from pulling a Coulter here, but with the Libby trial, the war and everything else about him, it may be a smart move.

Didn't this very thing happen on Prison Break last night? Wow, Fox has more pull than I thought!

How can that be possible when Cheney resigned in 2003, no wait he resigned in 04 before the election. Wait, I'm sorry he resigned after winning reelection; I'm sorry Cheney resigned before the 06 elections to help Bush's poll numbers, or perhaps it was after the 06 elections in response to the GOP defeat. No, then I'm guessing he isn't going anywhere now. Not sure any VP has had such rumors about leaving and didn't actually leave.

A blood clot is when blood cells group together. If it dislodges and travels to his brain, heart, or lungs it can be fatal.
Blood thinners, such as Coumidin (?spelling) usually work very well. This should not effect his ability to be VP any more than his heart problems do, unless the clot does not dissipate.

Yes, I know this. I wanted to know what a "blot clot" is as referenced in the title of this thread.

OK, it is clear my somewhat feeble attempt at sarcasm has been misinterpreted. I merely was laughing at the inability of the creator of this thread to simply spell correctly. That's all. Really though, if you want to be taken seriously in the blogosphere, shouldn't you at least spell one syllable words correctly?

Any relation to the Scooter Libby Verdict on this?

A blood clot is a grouping of blood cells in a blood vessel, decreasing the flow of blood through that vessel. this increases the risk of strokes or heart attacks.
A blot clot is an unusual condition where any image (for example, the splotches in a Rorschach test or a coffee stain on a carpet) is perceived as undeniable proof that another nation has WMDs, and must be immediately attacked.
It doesn't sound like Cheney would have to retire over this. One would hope not, though if he chooses to go back to Bedford Falls and run his savings and loan, I don't know how much I'd miss him

No, but the Scotter Libby verdict should. He shot one friend and let this one out to dry!

If not the blood clot then maybe the Scotter verdict. The man shoots one friend and lets the other out to dry.

No, he will not step aside. A Cheney with a stroke, regardless of severity, is much smarter than a Pelosi with a full house. Sad, Dims, sad.

19, Mark, Matt et al, write literally thousands of words every day and if they make a typo here and there, it's no big deal. If you're a lib and you're trying to prove your intellect, it's best served as humble pie, not through nit-picking.

I will solemnly pray that Mr. Cheney resigns to rest and improve his health. Hard.
I will also pray that Mr. Bush appoints Mr. Hagel as the new V.P. as long as he's going to pick a republican.
Can you hear the birds singing a little louder? The sun is shining a little brighter now. Hoo hoo skip dootlely doo.

I don't recall an article, but I personally speculated that some "health issues" would lead to a Cheney resignation if impeachment seemed imminent, in a thread on "conservative worldview," a Delphi forum. That must be eight months ago, at least.
This would be a bad sign for Bush. There's no way the GOP would let a double impeachment put Pelosi in the WH. But with a different, untainted VP, the Republic Senators might vote for removal.

Raker13 - must you be so foolish. If Bush has to appoint anyone to replace Cheney, I pray as a Nebraskan embarassed by his actions, that he DOES NOT chose Hagel. I also hope can get him replaced in the Senate in 08.
Posted by: kjstrouble at March 6, 2007 11:12 PM
Raker... the chances of Chuck Hagel being VP are about as high as his chances of being President... ZERO.
If Cheney did leave for health reasons, which there is a no to slim chance of that happening, Bush would choose Condi.
And he's choose her because she doesn't want to be President, and the current situation with candidates would remain the same.
Wow... I wonder what sort of gymnastics Democrats would have to do to spit in the face of Condi. A woman and an African-American. She's got it all, but Democrats don't respect her because she doesn't believe their lies about HAVING to be Black and a Democrat... Just like they called Colin Powell, JC Watts, and Michael Steele Uncle Toms. That would be HILARIOUS watching Charlie Rangel and Chuck Schumer lose THEIR MINDS over it.

Many people tout Condi Rice, but wouldn't the nation (and the Donks of course) have a heart attack and fill their trousers if, say, Bush nominated Rummy!?

You have an interesting blog here--it looks like left and right peacefully co-exist and actually exchange thoughts--it appears to be a safe place for the right actually to consider the possibility that Dick Cheney has outlived his usefulness in the Bush admin.
