Here's Another Moral Issue

Very interesting - from NRO:

Congress is not powerless here. It has an awesome power: to deny funds for the war and thereby end it entirely. If Levin wants U.S. combat operations to end by April 2008, he can simply work to cut off any funding past that date. But Democrats aren’t willing to weather the political attacks that would come with cutting off funding for troops in the field. On Meet the Press Sunday, Levin went so far as to call such a cut-off “the wrong thing to do, morally.” So he is denying to himself and his party the one constitutional and effective way to stop the war. Such are the contortions of a party that doesn’t have the courage of its antiwar convictions.(empasis added)

Kudos to Levin for understanding the gross immorality of a cut and run - but condemnation for all Democrats who know this and won't stoutly defending fighting until absolute victory. This, coupled with last night's Gorisms, shows mostly that the Democrats have a very confused sense of what is moral, and what a moral obligation is.

I suggest Sunday school, and no voting for anything like that for at least 2 years.

The dems moral compass points in every direction at once; they have become so hysterical over everything that taking a stand on anything has become impossible.

You are right Noonan. In fact all you Americans should totally stop voting and just let Mr. Decider run the show forever. I’m mean; he’s doing a heck of a job. Give him total limitless powers, after all he’s doing what’s right for America and the 2/3 of your population that disagree with him are simply week, confused, unpatriotic, ruling for the enemy, crazy environmentalists, gays and silly Darwinists. Your President deserves another chance in Iraq and if that fails he should get one more chance and then one more. Only total victory is acceptable! Whats the definition of total victory Noonan?, please tell me because the definitioin has changed a lot since the beginning of the war.
Sometimes I suspect you don’t actually mean what you write Noonan. I think you look at the world like it’s a Wagner opera….good and evil….heroes and villans. Personally I wish the Dems would step up to the plate and force thru a time table. All troops out by the end of the year. you are not fighting Al Qaida in Iraq but by being in Iraq you are creating more Al Qaida all over the world. Even your friends are starting to dislike you now. Mr. Decider has seen too many westerns so he sees this as a clasic showdown. Invade Iraq and Al Qaida will send all there men there to fight you allowing you to kill them one by one. When every Al Qaida member is dead victory has been atcheved. How many of the september 11th, madrid bombers, london bombers etc were Iraqies Noonan? Please tell us. Mr. decider took his eye of the ball when he put all of your figitning men and women into Iraq. That was the biggest mistake ever and if you are not cabable of seing that the I pitty you. How are we doing in Afganistan now Noonan. Taliban seems to be coming back strong. Why is that Noonan?
