Widescreen iPod... iPhone...
I know this is totally off topic for typical blogging here... But this is exciting... As a loyal Mac user, I've been aware of rumors of a widescreen iPod in development.. Well, according to some liveblogging of the MacWorld San Francisco 2007 Keynote at MacRumorsLive.com, they have unveiled the new widescreen iPod... It is the iPhone...
Sweet.
UPDATE: Sweet.
UPDATE: Patrick Ruffini blogs about the iPhone... what he loves, what he doesn't, and what he'd like to see.

WOW! and i thought Macs were at the hub of leftism!
You know- i just want a phone to be a phone. it took me until 2002 to get a Mac and then look what apple went and did in making $3000 PC clones!! i'll buy a real PC clone next time for $500.
Any way- i also just bought an iPod like a week plus ago. Not that i am behind in tech. i just decided the need outweighed the lack of having one LOL.
But at $200- $600 for an iPhone...that's just pushing it when you can get a cell phone for $free ;-)

by the way there is a good pic of it at apple dot com.
i really am still expecting an iVideo. Not the tv box to be announced. But basically an iPod with a more video friendly screen. somewhere in 4" or so range. But if not i'll go with that Archos thing. I just wanted to keep my itunes in line with my MP3 hence why i got the iPod in the 1st place. if that makes sense.

Matt
You and I have found common ground. !!!!
I can't wait to get my hands on 2 of these phones. Good-bye T-Mobile, hello cingular.
My first apple was a Lisa (pre-Mac) and I've never looked back. Wish I had keep my original Mac and MacII ci and Laserwriter LQ and all the other stuff. However, I did keep my Apple "QuickCam" and some other stuff.
I personally apologize to you for anything I might have thought negative, I now realize there really is hope, we've just got to work on you a bit more, since you 'think different'.
And it runs OS-X & Mail & Safari !!!!!
This is just way toooo exciting for a senior citizen.
Did you see the keynote presentation at apple.com? It was truly, truly a 'Steve' moment he was almost giggling. I had a hunch something was going on when they booked 2 hours for the keynote instead of the usual 60-90minute.

this almost leads me to wonder if an Apple palm or the like is on the way in a year or two?
That might be pretty slick. That IMO would be worht waiting for...skip the phone and go for the hand held. (whatever they are referred to as )
As for tha bing cingular...are all the cell phone companies pretty much on the same page as far as sharing towers? We had to change from Verizon to US Cellular after a move. The Verizon service didn't work as good in our area. But i really miss their plans and cust svc.
