A Request for Prayer

My wife, Cheryl, will be undergoing surgery later today - it is non-emergency; we scheduled it a month ago, but it is still major, and therefor worrisome. The prognosis is good and we hope to have the Mrs home within five days. Still, I am deeply concerned as my wife is the greater part of the reason for me getting up in the morning - as well as the motivator of my life back towards God.

So, any prayers you can offer for a successful surgery, a speedy recovery and a calm heart for myself and my wife to accept that God's will be done would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks, everyone - the Mrs is asleep right now, or at least trying to sleep. They have her taking this nasty medicine which makes her rather ill to her stomach as part of the surgery prep. I'll be heading off the bed pretty soon, myself.

It is a stressful night and will be a stressful day tomorrow, but with God's grace we'll get through it just fine.

You've got my prayers Mark, & a ton of faith! I'll also pray that the Lord wakes you in the mornings well, lol, J/K on that one. I understand ,as my wife is the other reason I get out of bed in the mornings. Just her & my savior Jesus Christ!

Leo,

Just fine - she's got a massive headache due to the effect of the anesthesia, but her recovery from the actual surgery is going well. I just miss her at night...ever since I married her in 2005, it just feels like half of me is cut off when she's not around.

Posted by: Mark Noonan [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 6, 2007 12:33 AM

Mark

Good to see she's doing better!!!!

God plans these times for us to learn from...you know, that single thing. It's a good thing...really it is!!

It makes the heart grow fonder and gives a person the time to evaluate their mortality and their priorities in life.

I for one ruined my first marriage (workaholic) and the next five years (I was left my two sons fortunately) spent much of my time exploring my mortality and my priorities and it wasn't until my mid-forties did I realize that "I can't take it with me", so, every now and then this epiphany comes along and puts us back in our place. We most commonly refer to these epiphanies as "God's wake-up call"
