Thanks, everyone - the Mrs is asleep right now, or at least trying to sleep. They have her taking this nasty medicine which makes her rather ill to her stomach as part of the surgery prep. I'll be heading off the bed pretty soon, myself.
It is a stressful night and will be a stressful day tomorrow, but with God's grace we'll get through it just fine.

Leo,
Just fine - she's got a massive headache due to the effect of the anesthesia, but her recovery from the actual surgery is going well. I just miss her at night...ever since I married her in 2005, it just feels like half of me is cut off when she's not around.

Mark
Good to see she's doing better!!!!
God plans these times for us to learn from...you know, that single thing. It's a good thing...really it is!!
It makes the heart grow fonder and gives a person the time to evaluate their mortality and their priorities in life.
I for one ruined my first marriage (workaholic) and the next five years (I was left my two sons fortunately) spent much of my time exploring my mortality and my priorities and it wasn't until my mid-forties did I realize that "I can't take it with me", so, every now and then this epiphany comes along and puts us back in our place. We most commonly refer to these epiphanies as "God's wake-up call"
