It's Their Party And They'll Cry If They Want To

On January 31, 2006, President George W. Bush will deliver the State of the Union. On this night, both supporters and critics of the President will be hosting parties across the country, organized through the websites of the Republican Party and Democratic Party respectively.

I decided to check out the progress of the parties and determine who was doing better.

Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has not announced the total number of parties planned for their site... However, by using their search utility and playing with the query string, I discover that as of this post, only 432 parties have been planned through the DNC website. There is an option to host a private party, and those numbers can't be found anywhere, but most of the parties will be the public one which can be accessed on their site.

Now let's see what supporters of the President are up to.

It was not hard to find out that there are over 1,300 State of the Union parties being held on January 31st by supporters of the President. This is a fact the Republican Party proudly display over at GOP.com.

This reflects quite poorly on the Democrats ability to energize their supporters — and they know it. Last November they were more than proud to publicize when over 250 events were planned for their National Organizing Kickoff — they eventually had over 1,000 planned — but now they are being intentionally silent to announce the number of their own SOTU Watch Parties.

I guess we can't blame them for not announcing their party numbers this time... It be quite embarrassing for them since GOP parties outnumber theirs by more that 3 to 1.

Why would Democrats want to get together to watch George Bush? It certainly is not my idea of a party.

"I guess we can't blame them for not announcing their party numbers this time... It be quite embarrassing for them since GOP parties outnumber theirs by more that 3 to 1."

Wouldn't you expect this for a GOP president?

Posted by: shortz at January 27, 2006 02:59 PM

Well, personally, I prefer to watch the SotU in the company of either family or a couple friends. It seems to be hard to actually take in what is being said when everyone there is obviously biased one way or the other.

I like to make my own decisions.

Posted by: Georgia Frawg [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 27, 2006 03:03 PM

Georgia Frawg, I understand your desire to make up your own mind, you should be able to. What I find irritating after and before watching the SotU, the networks, feel compelled in my opinion, to tell us what to think in their, "analysis" of the SotU. I personally don’t trust the networks to be unbiased. A recent UCLA study supports the conservative complaint about the networks being liberally biased. I’d share the link with you to the article to back up what I am saying but I no longer have the link, sorry. I have a Word doc but no link.

Posted by: Paul at January 27, 2006 03:39 PM

I agree with Georgia; It's fun to watch with a crowd who will constantly reaffirm your own beliefs about the speech, but it's really best to watch it on your own (or with your family) and with a truly open mindset.

On the other hand, Dems in general are probably so disenfranchised with this president that they simply don't want to listen. It sure doesn't seem like those 1000 parties last year did them a lot of good. However, it's a little silly to base the strength of the party in general on the number of SotU parties they're holding, each, especially since the person giving the speech is clearly associated with one side.

Posted by: Ethan at January 27, 2006 03:48 PM

I want to watch it at home, and I want to watch my President indroduce Justice Alito--Alioto for you Teddy fans--to the American people. And I want the cameras to pan over to Teddy the drunk swimmer, if that total waste of Bush-polluted oxygen can sum up the courage to show up.

Speaking of the swimmer, I did a modular furniture refab job at a library--that's liberry for you donk-turds--in Charles County, MD, today. The library sells old books at a big discount, and I actually bought a book about the swimmer! Hey, for a buck, I'll read lefty propaganda. And should I run out of Charmin, I have 321 sheets of prime TP at my disposal...

This is no time for parties. What's to be celebrated? Taking money from our children's education to fight a useless war? The GOP are hosting parties to celebrate the raping and pillaging of the American People!

Posted by: Patrick at January 27, 2006 04:11 PM

It could be that the DNC is holding them in more urban areas and the RNC in more rural.

Posted by: yadayadayada at January 27, 2006 04:51 PM

"The GOP are hosting parties to celebrate the raping and pillaging of the American People!"

Indeed. We had a nasty pillaging just the other night... Sonny Perdue came in riding a Fell Beast, snatching maidens from the roadway and throwing them in the moat. Dreadful. Vote Kerry!

Anyhow, I understand there is to be an anti SOTU demo at CNN which is about three blocks from me. Might dust off the old Bush Branding the Donk shirt and mosey over but it's of little moment. I don't think I've ever watched a SOTU completely and I've long been a newsjunkied political obsessive so I am always a little skeptical of the supposed impact of these things on the public at large. All the ups and downs and applause supplied or denied in perfectly predictable measure... the whole thing is a little Socialist Realist for me, although I always read it later. The SOTU may well prove a watershed for W but it is really arbitrary. Success in Iraq and economic growth at home are the real thing. Without those no amount of speachifying is worth diddly. With them and the other burgeoning successes of the Bush Era the jawboning is superfluous.

Is he going to mention the latest BEA report? I'd party to see bush's reaction.

Posted by: shortz at January 27, 2006 05:29 PM

Hey Patrick...read this ...you Libtard!!!

Today's so-called Democrat Party is really a distribution in two parts, the sophisticated and the naive. Or more aptly, the Elitists and the Disciples as will be shown.

They have been called Leftists, Extreme left, Anti-war left, Anti-war progressives, Liberals, Liberal Democrats, Conservative Democrats, Progressive Democrats, New Democrats, Progressives, Socialists and to non-revisionist historians they have been likened to the Tories of the American Revolution who were not averse to sabotage and to selling us back to England.

The true platform of the so-called democrat party has been unfolding in an incremental manner since the New Deal days of Franklin Roosevelt and the Great Society of Lyndon Johnson until today it is unabashedly the standard bearer for the philosophy of Karl Marx with its giant aim on continued higher taxes, perpetual larger government and eroded individual and property rights.
Which party sided with Communist countries Nicaragua and El Salvador and protested any aid of any kind to the freedom fighters of these nations? Which party refused aid to Afghanistan when it was raided by Communist Russia.

Which party gave away the Panama Canal, a project which had not only cost the American taxpayer billions in creation but also opened the door for the eventual take-over of this strategic transport maritime site by the Chinese?
Which party was responsible for sending us into a Korean and Vietnamese war without providing the necessary arms for battle to its own Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force? Which party was directly responsible for sending back a child to Communist Cuba whose mother gave up her life in order that the child live in a free society? Which party donated billions of our tax dollars to the Russians for the alleged dismantling of its obsolescent nuclear missiles while allowing it the wiggle to build bigger and better ones? Which party has continuously thrown up road blocks in the attempts to develop and research the necessary weaponry for the defense of our country in a nuclear age?

Which party was responsible for the drive to downgrade and decimate the total military force of the United States. Which party was responsible for disregarding the Constitution and allowing the debacles at Waco and Ruby Ridge? Which party underhandedly sold classified technical secrets to the Chinese and used the White House as its Merchandise Mart by selling bedrooms and gala parties for election time fund raising?

Which party detoured the final impeachment process of a president whose legacy is bemired in the most corrupt, insidious and treacherous presidency in our history? Which party was and is responsible for keeping us from drilling for our own oil and thus retaining a dependency on other nations for this crucial and possibly nation-saving commodity? Which party was obviously willing to shred our Constitution in the interest of winning a presidential election at any cost even to the extent of its own democrat packed Florida Supreme Court shunning its state constitution and the rule of law?
Which party did everything in its power to negate the military votes in the last presidential election? Which party has continued to fight for gun control and for keeping the American citizen from the wherewithal of self defense. Which party is in constant attack mode on American commercial corporations and American industry as a methodology to weakening the Capitalist and Free Enterprise System? Which party is in constant programming mode for our subservience to the United Nations. An organization dominated by despotic third world countries and which numbers itself amongst the most corrupt political entities on the globe.
Which party, upon leaving the White House ransacked Air Force One, looted, destroyed and pillaged the White House? Which party castigated Bush #1 for not continuing the move into Baghdad and has been crucifying Bush #2 for doing so.
This is the party which created and introduced political correctness to the point of national paralysis. This is the party which loves the poor people because they are the easiest prey. This is the party which has fomented the concept of reverse discrimination as the answer to discrimination. This is the party which history will prove has been wrong on all counts.
It is time for the Disciple Democrats to wake up and smell the problem. Your Elitists are not your allies. The United States of America is under siege. The fact that the so called democrat party is really the Socialist Party of the United States has never been more evident. This premise is primarily due to the fact that the total liberal platform follows the cardinal principles of Karl Marx and the implementation genius of Vladimir Lenin. The scenario we saw in Florida was programmed and we saw the Socialists, for the first time, actually taking a firm stance in order to test the system and the safeguards of our Constitutional Republic.
Which party, in the nineties, allowed over 100,000 aliens to be sworn in illegally as American citizens with the prime purpose of winning their vote?
Which party is constantly parroting upholding the alleged and mythical doctrine of Separation of Church and State and rushing to the churches immediately at the point of each election.
The attacks on our President and on the present government leadership by the elitist democrats and liberal news media is far in excess of their concern relative to bringing Hussein, al Qaeda and the Taliban to heel. In the surge for power our own president is regarded as a worse enemy than the terrorists. This is what constitutes the democrat party of today. It is only a shell of what was once substantive, strong, valued and honorable.
Socialistic fervor under the guise of patriotism can hardly be considered being American.
We can only hope that the apathetic will cease to be pathetic and will wake up to the real danger which we are all facing at this given moment in time. In reality we are under siege not only by the terrorists but by those who claim to be patriots.
None dare call it treason.

Unfounded Loyalty

An In-depth Look Into The Love Affair Between Blacks & Democrats
In his 100-page brief, Perryman concludes that the past racist policies and practices that were initiated against African Americans by the Democratic Party - were no different than the policies and practices that were initiated by the Nazi Party against the Jews. In both situations millions of lives were destroyed (physically, mentally and economically).
In his brief, Perryman told the court:
*That in an effort to impede and or deny African Americans the same constitutional rights afforded to all American citizens, the Democratic Party established a pattern of practice by promoting, supporting, sponsoring and financing racially bias entertainment, education, legislation, litigations, and terrorist organizations from 1792 to 1962 and continued certain practices up to 2002.

*The Democrat’s 210 years of racist practices and cover ups not only negatively affected the entire Black Race; but these practices infected our entire nation with the most contagious and debilitating social disease known to mankind, racism. With landmark litigation, racist legislation and profane defamation, Democrats spent substantial amounts of money to produce racist campaign literature and to support racist entertainment (i.e. Jim Crow minstrel shows, stage plays “The Klansman,” and movies, “The Birth of a Nation”), all in an effort to prove to the world that African Americans were a racially inferior group that should be treated and classified as “property” and not as “citizens”.
*During the past 21 decades the Democrats successfully disguised and concealed their horrific acts against the African Americans by operating and committing these acts under the following aliases: “the Confederacy,” “Jim Crow,” “Black Codes,” the “Dixiecrats” and the “Ku Klux Klan.” Congressional records, historical documents, and the letters and testimonies from several brave black citizens revealed that these groups weren’t separate independent organizations, but were actual auxiliaries, divisions and/or the legislative efforts of the Democratic Party. The debates on the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871 further revealed that these auxiliaries were committed to use every means possible to carry out the Democrat’s racist agenda of “White Supremacy,” including: lynchings, murders, intimidation, mutilations, decapitations and racially bias legislation and adjudication.
.
Perryman said, “To conceal the truth of their racist past (and as part of their effort to deceive the public), the Democratic Party made a conscience decision not to mention or disclose their true and complete history. (See exhibit 1). On their official website they failed to disclose that as a Party:
· Democrats opposed the Abolitionist
· Democrats supported slavery and fought and gave their lives to expand it
· Democrats supported and passed the Fugitive Slave Laws of 1793 & 1854
· Democrats supported and passed the Missouri Compromise to protect slavery
· Democrats supported and passed the Kansas Nebraska Act to expand slavery
· Democrats supported and backed the Dred Scott Decision
· Democrats supported and passed Jim Crow Laws
· Democrats supported and passed Black Codes
· Democrats opposed educating blacks and murdered our teachers
· Democrats opposed the Reconstruction Act of 1867
· Democrats opposed the Freedman’s Bureau as it pertained to blacks
· Democrats opposed the Emancipation Proclamation
· Democrats opposed the 13th , 14th, and 15th Amendments to end slavery, make black citizens and give blacks the right to vote
· Democrats opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1866
· Democrats opposed the Civil Right Act of 1875 and had it overturned by U.S. Supreme Court
· Various Democrats opposed the 1957 Civil Rights Acts
· Various Democrats argued against the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Acts
· Various Democrats argued against the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Acts
· Various Democrats voted against the 1972 Equal Employment Opportunity Act
· Democrats supported and backed Judge John Ferguson in the case of Plessy v Ferguson
· Democrats supported the School Board of Topeka Kansas in the case of Brown v The Board of Education of Topeka Kansas.
· Southern Democrats opposed desegregation and integration
· Democrats started and supported several terrorist organizations including the Ku Klux Klan, an organization dedicated to use any means possible to terrorize African Americans and those who supported African Americans.”
Congressional records reveal that there wouldn’t be a question of Reparations today had Democratic President Andrew Johnson signed Senate Bill 60 (in 1866) which would have given each African American family 40 acres and a mule. Instead, Johnson vetoed the Bill and continued to block other key pieces of legislation that were designed to bring about equality for African Americans.
Perryman further argues that:
During the past 200 years, our government operated under a two party system which directed, developed and determined the policies of our country. Whatever the government did or did not accomplish (particularly as it pertained to African Americans), was directly related to which political party was in power at the time.
On April 29, 1861 Democratic President Jefferson Davis told his Democratic Confederate Congress that: “Under the supervision of the superior race, their [blacks’] labor had been so directed not only to allow a gradual and marked amelioration of their own condition, but to convert hundreds of thousands of square miles of wilderness into cultivated lands covered with a prosperous people; towns and cities had sprung into existence, and had rapidly increased in wealth and population under the social system of the South... [which made the South one of the 16th wealthiest places in the world]; and the productions in the South of cotton, rice, sugar, and tobacco, for the full development and continuance of which the labor of African slaves was and is indispensable, had swollen to an amount which formed nearly three-fourth of the exports of the whole United States and had become absolutely necessary to wants of civilized man….”
Seven years later during the 1868 Presidential campaign, the Democratic Party’s campaign poster read: “This is a White Man’s Country - Let the White Men Rule.”
At the turn of the century (1913) Democratic Senator Ben Tillman said, “We reorganized the Democratic Party with one plank, and the only plank, namely, that this is a white man’s country, and white men must govern it.” From 1792 to 2002 (a period of 210 years), the Democratic Party carried out their proud tradition of white man rule by never electing a black man to the United States Senate from their party.
From 1792 to 1962 the Democratic Party was more commonly referred to as the Party of White Supremacy. This was the period when most of the damage was done to African Americans (economically, physically, socially and mentally). It was during this period that the Democrats exhausted every effort to promote slavery, destroyed Reconstruction and introduced Black Codes, Jim Crow laws and the Ku Klux Klan.
The chronicles of history reveals that the Institution of Slavery and Jim Crow Laws weren’t promoted, protected and preserved by prominent individuals or by the federal government. They were promoted, protected and preserved by one political party and that party was the Democratic Party. Without their powerful political support, the institution of slavery and segregation would have ended long before 1865 and 1965.
The big question they had during the era of slavery was, whether or not a law or a person's actions violated the Constitution. The goal of the Democrats was to never allow the Constitution to be amended to include blacks as citizens. They wanted the freedom to treat African Americans as property (not as humans), without federal interference (this was their primary reason for fighting for their so-called States Rights). This was also the reason why Democrats were opposed to adding the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution and why they praised and supported the Dred Scott Decision. Republicans rushed to have these Amendments added to the Constitution while the states that were under Democrat control were still separated from the Union. Republicans knew they would have a difficult time getting these Amendments passed if the Democrats from the Southern States came back and joined their congressional (Democrat) counterparts in the North.
During era of slavery and Reconstruction the Democrats were primarily interested in what they could do to Blacks, not what they could do for Blacks. From 1792 to 1962 the Democrats as a party, did not support or pass one law that was designed to give African Americans equality (in 170 years). With the exception of Truman’s efforts to integrate the military, every law that was introduced and passed by Democrats during this period was designed to hurt blacks, none were passed to help blacks. Perryman said, “Had the Democrats attempted to pass these same types of laws in 1864 that they claim credit for in 1964, the laws in 1964 would not have been necessary. Instead, in 1866 they passed Black Codes, in 1875 they passed Jim Crow Laws and in 1894 they passed the Repeal Act to repeal various pieces of previously passed Civil Rights legislation that were designed to give African Americans equality.
Perryman is quick to point out that the Democratic Party of today is not the same party of yesterday. However, like in the case of Michael Skakel (the Kennedy nephew who killed Martha Moxley), the Democrats like Michael Skakel must pay for their past actions. Perryman said, “The Skakels and the Moxleys were best friends and neighbors, but when the Moxleys learned that it was Skakel who murdered their daughter in 1975, they did not excuse his action because of the long term friendship. They made him pay, even though it was 25 years later. The same applies to the current relationship between the Blacks and Democrats. The Democrats should not expect Blacks to ignore the Democrat’s past racist practices, simply because of the current friendship.”
Perryman’s research and 100-page brief include the works of our nation’s top history and law professors including African American Historian, Professor John Hope Franklin, Princeton’s History Professor James McPherson, Professor Hebert Donald of Harvard, Professor Allen Trelease of North Carolina, and Professor Bernard Schwartz of New York University’s School of Law, plus congressional records and documentaries from PBS and the History Channel.
Perryman said, “since our experiences are similar to those inflicted on the Jews by the Nazi Party and since Reparations under the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 affords Plaintiffs redress for past injuries; and amends for the wrong inflicted,” he asked the court for the following:
WHEREFORE, Plaintiff, on Plaintiff own behalf and on behalf of the Class, prays for judgment as follows:
1. Declaring this action to be a proper class action and certifying Plaintiff as Class representative under Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure;
2. Awarding compensatory damages and rescission in favor of the Plaintiff and other members of the Class against the Defendant for the damages sustain as a result of wrongdoing of the defendants, together with interest thereon;
3. And as part of the compensatory damages the Plaintiffs recommends the following:
a. That an education fund be set up equivalent to the amount of $25,000 for every African American age 25 and younger that is currently alive as of the date of this lawsuit. The fund will be used solely for private school, college and trade tuitions and related educational costs.
b. That under the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 which authorizes a public education fund, to educate the public of the wrongs that took place, the Plaintiffs ask for funding to fund a major motion picture and film series depicting all of the events that were highlighted in this lawsuit (and others not mentioned) and that this film and major motion picture be distributed to every public and private school in America to be viewed by students as a regular part of their history curriculum for the next 50 years. We further ask that the Lead Plaintiff and the consultants of his choice be paid a consulting fee including traveling and related expenses to help produce the motion picture and the film series. The consulting fee will be the standard consulting fee for similar types of major motion picture projects.
c. We ask that the Defendant pay each African American citizen ages 26- 35 that is currently alive as of the date of this lawsuit, a total sum of $25,000 in reparations, each adult ages 36-45, $45,000 in reparations, each adult ages 46-55, $50,000 in reparations each and each citizen ages 56 and older $100,000 in reparations.
4. Awarding Plaintiff fees and expenses incurred in this action, including reasonable allowance of fees for attorneys to administer the Class Action claim and appropriate consultant fees.
5. Granting extraordinary equitable and/or injunctive relief as permitted by law, equity and federal and state statutory provisions sued on hereunder, including attaching, impounding, imposing a constructive trust upon or otherwise restricting the proceeds of the Defendant’s investments, checking, savings or other assets so as to assure that Plaintiff has an effective remedy.
6. Ordering a formal apology to African Americans for the wrong that was committed during the duration of the Defendants’ tenure as an organization or political party.
7. Granting such other and further relief as the Court may deem just and proper.

I think a response to Matts post should be ROTFLOL!

As to this: This is no time for parties. What's to be celebrated? Taking money from our children's education to fight a useless war? The GOP are hosting parties to celebrate the raping and pillaging of the American People! Patrick

Could you explain why Air America stole money from the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls club, then had to be forced by NYC to repay it all into an escrow account?

Posted by: William Teach [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 27, 2006 10:30 PM

So what are they going to talk about at the GOP SOTU parties? Bushes brilliant comments the other day on the Palestine elections or about the answer he gave the student who asked about student loan cuts? My gosh, what were his handlers thinking letting him go out and field open questions?

Or will they talk about the growing debt? the medicare drug bill?.. Social security reform? ....Immigration reform? ...Soaring medical costs? ...Jack Abramoff?....Duke Cunningham?....the trade gap, the warmest year on record?....no bid contracts?....the $300,000,000,000 dollars we spent for a civil war in Iraq? record profits for the oil companies.....declining purchasing power for all but the wealthiest Americans.....declining scholastic achievement of our youth? the homeless people in the gulf states...the pentagon report on the Iraq situation? .....Mining safety.....the selling of our democracy to the highest bidder? What will they talk about?

Posted by: Muirgeo at January 28, 2006 05:05 AM

Muirego,

Mining safety?

President Bush is responsible for Rober Bryd's West Virginia mines?

Posted by: Mark Noonan [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 28, 2006 05:18 AM

Muirgeo, you can thank the teachers' unions and their failed policies for the state of education in this country. Outcome based education, political correctness, revisionist history, pushing parents out in an effort to undermine them, and an embrace of valueless sex education are the results of liberal control of education. Any attempt to challenge this is met with the most vicious personal attack imagineable. I have seen this first-hand in MD, where I live. What you have sited is a litany of talking points with little substance and certainly no solutions.

Posted by: CeCe [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 28, 2006 08:19 AM

Muirgeo and WT,

Are you the token KosKidz on the thread today. All that and a record 64,000,000 Americans voted for President George W. Bush and AGAINST John "Heeerro" Kerry. Get used to losing.

I just hope Karl Rove was able to work "progressive liberal commie democrat moonbats want to destroy America" into the speech.

Lock and Load...moonbat swarm ahead

Posted by: Nebraska Militia [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 28, 2006 10:30 AM

Mark, CeCe,

Even if you despise the democrats you have to admit this 5th year of the Bush President is a disaster. Also I can't blame everything on him but indeed the house and senate are controlled by the Republicans. This country and our world face unprecedented problems and what I see going on is a democracy for sale, lobbyist and multinational corporations have the ear of our politicians over that of the common man and special interest are basically writing policy and our media is being consolidated to ownership by a few super wealthy individuals. Nothing is being done about the real issues like true tax reform, true campaign reform, immigration reform, government transparency, lobby reform, health care or education ect.... Nothing is being done to help with energy independence, tort reform, medicare insolvency or social security reform and we have a massive budget deficit that makes funding cuts likely for many programs.
How can anyone who is actually paying attention actually be happy with the State of Our Union. And seriously if you watched Bush's answers to the questions the other night it was down right embarrassing. He is the most uninformed non-critical thinking president we have ever had.

Posted by: Muirgeo at January 28, 2006 10:31 AM

"President Bush is responsible for Rober Bryd's West Virginia mines?"

Wow.

But if you want a civics lesson, I'd say the executive has more to do with what happens in a mine than 1 of 100 senators.

Posted by: shortz at January 28, 2006 12:18 PM

Lug -

Take a breath buddy, too much Rush is going to hurt ya...you really got those dem's when you point out stuff from 100 years ago. And if you think today's republican party in any way resembles that of Lincon's, you are the one who is misinformed.

Posted by: Dan at January 28, 2006 03:07 PM

I guess you are reffering to the 2004 election, because as I remeber, he LOST the popular vote in 2000. Go and get yer gun if it makes you feel like a man...

Posted by: Dan at January 28, 2006 03:12 PM

CeCe - have you ever spent a day in an inner city school? How dare you blame teachers for Bush's ineffective education policies! The inability to get out of POVERTY has a strangle hold on inner cities across the country.

Posted by: Dan at January 28, 2006 03:22 PM

shortz,

Ah, but in this case you'd be wrong...it is Bryd who has kept those mines open...mines which provide high-sulfer coal when there is much cleaner coal to be mined in the western part of the United States...and coal which can be mined much more safely.

So, yes, Byrd is responsible for those antique mines being open, not President Bush.

Posted by: Mark Noonan [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 28, 2006 04:42 PM

Nebraska Militia,

Yeah you must be a real man...saying cool things like "lock and load". The sad fact is you are nothing but a small tool in the undermining of our democracy. Anybody who supports the direction of this country over the last 5 years is either ignorant, unpatriotic or some sad combination of the two.

Posted by: muirgeo at January 28, 2006 05:19 PM

Undermining our democracy? Huh?

I'll take the direction of this country over the past five years any time, over the 8 under Clinton, where we slept while an enemy plotted and planned to destroy us; where the Oval Office, became the Oral Office (try that at work sometime and see if you get impeached or just fired); where rooms at the White House were sold for favors; where sensitive information was given to our dear friends the Chinese; and on and on and on. Talk about undermining our democracy...what about ENABLING OUR ENEMIES to destroy it?

There was one thing that I did like better during the Clinton years, however. It was the Contract With America where Congress finally showed restraint, and with the help of a booming hi tech revolution, finally balanced the budget. Today's Congress needs reconsider that Contract.

Posted by: John at January 28, 2006 06:54 PM

Nebraska Militia,

Listen to Muiregeo. He has your best interests at heart.

Open your eyes, clean out your ears and be informed. What is happening in your once great country is criminal.

Posted by: Canadian Observer at January 28, 2006 07:03 PM

Where they heck do you guys come up with this stuff?

This may come as a shock to you, but those who actually like this President are obviously more likely to tune in and watch.

President Bush is responsible for Rober Bryd's West Virginia mines?

C'mon, Mark, President Bush is responsible for everything; heck, he walked my dog this morning.

The motto of the donk-turds is: Ask not what your country can do for you...no, wait, go ahead and ask.

What is happening in your once great country is criminal.

Yeah, okay, and what is happening in your not-so-great country is...conservatism! Is that criminal, or what? Where ya gonna move to, Un-Observer? France, perhaps?

But if you want a civics lesson, I'd say the executive has more to do with what happens in a mine than 1 of 100 senators.

Isn't this rich? Eat-my-shortz, the most prominent mental midget in the blogosphere, is going to give Mark a civics lession. I can't wait...oh...he already did. And was wrong.

Eat-my-shortz, you will make an excellent teacher...

Dan, please re-read my post. I did not blame the teachers - I know far too many really good ones - I blamed the teachers' unions for the state of our public schools. They have been in a position to effect education a hell of a lot longer than Bush has been and are in more direct control of what goes on in the schools. Perhaps the union bosses can give up some of their salaries and benefits to help the poor inner city schools. Then you might have a point in your response.

I was thinking about watching Bush's State of the Union address...but I decided instead to sit on a red-hot pile of coals and shove an ice pick in each ear.

There, I criticized your God, Bush...what are y'all going to do now, call me a traitor?

I hope so...it'll confirm what you all are.

BH, I won't call you a traitor, but I do thiink you need to get a grip.

BushHater well demonstrates why the Democrats and the Left generally don't have a prayer... because they don't have a clue and are adamantly opposed to getting one. You don't want to aknowledge the SOTU? Cool. No problem. Just how will you oppose the Republicans in the next election IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING! Well, BushHatred has done well for the Deomcrats. Yes, they are riding high and have a bright future ahead. Just keep on fellas.
Oh, and above, I know the FACT that the Republican party was founded explicitly as an abolitionist party is a truth the Lefties would dearly love to consign to the memory hole but that ain't happenin'.
Abe.
Republicano.
Emancipator.
Yes yes.
Stephen Douglas.
Democrat.
Pro-slavery.
No no.

Hmmmmmmmm............ Nope, I think Dumb.ss would be much more appropriate! You see Traitors are the one we actually have to worry about! Only thing we have to worry about with you B.H. is the possibility that you may kill yourself with all that hatred burning you up. Take DeeCee48's advice and chill, God knows you can't help your situation until you do chill!

Open your eyes, clean out your ears and be informed. What is happening in your once great country is criminal.

So C.O........ what your suggesting is that we criminalize liberalism! Wow, I'm not sure your friends would like that!!! Specially since you guys are doing such a great job of criminalizing conservatism!

One thing with this guy that really got me, bearman, he says he has "criticized" Bush. Again, in the immortal words of Benino Montoya, I do not think that word means what you think it means. Where is there criticism? It's just a bilious burp; plugging one's ears.... LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! Whatever Mary. Like you were a swing voter anyhow.

Hey I hear ya Mega! And I owe an apology to CeCe, I truly am sorry for calling you DeeCee48! I must have been having dilusions of grandeur when I thought that was DC48 chastizing a crazylib. What the hell was I thinking? Sorry again CeCe!
