Hillary vehicle crashing? Looks like it

Although we are all unsurprised that Hollywood and Clinton pals (Linda and Harry Bloodworth-Thomason) will do whatever possible to support Team Clinton by "seasoning" the public via TV shows (Evening Shade) or movies (Dave, Rules of Engagement, The Contender), it turns out the public is none too interested (despite hype surpassing the biggest of Hollywood blockbusters) in their latest gambit on behalf of Hillary Rodham Clinton:

The White House drama starring Geena Davis as the first female president started out as the most talked-about new show of the season with healthy ratings and a wide-open future.

But ABC said over the weekend that it is pulling "Chief" off the air until spring to make way for a new comedy, "Sons & Daughers."

The info was buried in a news release announcing the start of the new comedy.

" 'Commander in Chief' will go on a brief broadcast hiatus so that it can return in the spring with all original episodes," the release said.

...

Ratings for "Chief" have been in a free fall ever since it came back this month after a long, holiday break holiday.

I am sure this won't be the last vehicle in support of Hillary, but it is gratifying that the tastes of the viewing public continue to reject the thinly disguised liberal claptrap.

Looks like Howard Deans boat is sinking as well. His management skills have run the democratic party into the ground. Sucks to be him...

Tough going against American Idol.

Posted by: lovedaright at January 30, 2006 12:42 PM

The most stunning leak in the Dem's bark lately has got to be the "Blue on Blue" internecine fighting between the hardcore Leftwing base and several prominent media figures. Denouncing Chris Matthews and Katie Couric as propagandist stooges for the GOP is as close to Bizarro World as you will find on Earth. Hilarious! Also recently the WaPo had her blinkers blown off releasing the rawest of Kossack type invective on an institution second only to the NYT in service to the Democratic party.
No less an oracle than Slate had the audacity to print the following:

skillfully-crafted pro-GOP storylines are injected into the American bloodstream by the likes of Wolf Blitzer, Chris Matthews, Paula Zahn, Dana Milbank, Kyra Phillips, Cokie Roberts, Tom Brokaw, Jim VandeHei, Bob Schieffer, Bill Schneider, Tim Russert, Howard Fineman, Norah O'Donnell, Elizabeth Bumiller, Adam Nagourney, Bob Woodward, and their ilk

What a list! Rove buddies every one. ANYONE CAN SEE THAT! What a blessing. Cokie Roberts? I am spinning from that one. Probably we can add Joan Vennochii after her latest. Wonder of wonders, Katie Couric actually asked Dean the kind of questions she would unblinkingly ask Mehlman. HORRORS! Friends and foes... that is all we ever asked; a fair shake and all need be asked. The Dem coalition is in chaos, mortally wounded from banging up against reality. And what is their strategy? STAND ON THE GAS! Joy, joy, joy.

So the thesis is that falling ratings for Commander in Chief indicate faltering support for Hillary Clinton? Couldn't you have deduced that directly from polling data? Maybe the falling ratings indicate that a more popular show (American Idol) has started its new season. Maybe what America really wants is to forget about politics for a few hours.

By the way, how did you figure out that the Thomasons are connected to this show? Are they operating under assumed names?

Am I missing something? "Rules of Engagement" as a vehicle for HIllary Clinton? "Rules of Engagement" was, in a way, an American version of "Breaker Morant" -- a movie about military folks being railroaded in order to cover the asses of the politicians.

Perhaps you are thinking of "Courage under Fire," the 1996 movie in which Denzel Washington conducts an investigation in connection with the posthumous awarding of the Medal of Honor to that award's first female recipient (played by Meg Ryan)? I never saw combat, but I was in the service, and "Courage under Fire" struck me as a pretty good (if somewhat overdramatic) depiction of the political and military reactions to such an award.

It's possibly time, that the Big Media Corporation
and their minions-reporters, and the Holly-woodheads, are getting the message from the general public, that accepting their "pablum fed"
accounts of news, entertainment, and liberal/left
slants, are "JUST TOO BIASED", and the result is:

"SHOW US PROGRAMMING, EITHER NEWSWISE, TV, MOVIES,
ETC. THAT GIVE SOME OTHER SIDE, TOWARDS WHAT THIS
COUNTRY IS ALL ABOUT---MIDDLE THINKING---OR, WE ARE QUITE CAPABLE OF "NOT SUPPORTING YOUR PAPERS,
TV SHOWS, INDUSTRY-PERIOD", AS THE MSM, IS "NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN ANYMORE".. The days of Linda
Bloodworth, Katy Couric, Matt Lawher, Chris Matthews, etc, is tiresome, with their pandering to their "own personal views, that come across, each and every time they try to "act" -middle of the road, when in fact, they are quite transparent
and the public is tired of it. You come to the
point of nauseum when you push your liberal agenda
because you have had the power in Hollywood, to make movies, that "bash a true moderate", and THEN
WITH YOUR GALL, EXPECT US TO BUY TICKETS TO THE BIASED FILMS YOU PRODUCE, OR TV SHOWS--Hollywood,
has long been the liberals' playground, by what they 'greenlight, and spew forth, on behalf of what they "think the public will pay for, and be brainwashed by"....THINK AGAIN....Maybe L.A., and
New York audiences buy your radical views, but main stream America, isn't, and Thus, that is why
your profits have been off, tv shows are being cancelled(such as your blatent ads for Hillary-in
the guise of Geena Davis running the country) it
shows in the newspapers that are so blatently liberal, the readership is dwindling...It's quite evident, and let's face it, you can disagree with
President Bush if you want, that is your right as we live in a free society that gives you that right, but to continually Bash this President, and
beat up on him, as if he were a piniata, is wayyy
over the top.....You are much too embarassing, and
where "Corporations all need to make revenue, and maybe they have finally and hopefully come to their senses, and realize, they are in business to "make money",but they are alienating the main audiences, because of their Liberal Leanings, and
just like CBS "got it after Rathergate", all of the MSM need to start to appeal to ALL THE PUBLIC
AUDIENCES, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THEY MONEY COMES
FROM, "Not your Holly-woodheads, that don't PAY to go see anything, as it is always 'gratis' as it is in N. Y.".....While you are all making films,as "your personal agenda, and a swipe at a Conservative President and audience, you are creating "flops, all over the place"....AND, your
so called "Stars, are dimming slowly, but surely"
"

I don't pay attention to hollywoods political views. They're actors. Thats what they do...act. They are not to be taken seriously.
They can say and do what they want. I will merely observe and be entertained.

Another point, if I may:

With all this public "bashing of the President of
the United States of America (whether you believe
in him or not) don't you, in the MSM know, that you are "feeding the Terrorists, just what they want-help in putting "America out of business, and
killing us all over the world? Proof, is that the main Terrorists, alZwahari, Bin Laden, etc.,
have been quoting your very liberal words, and
you are aiding them and enabeling them, in THEIR
FIGHT TO KILL AMERICANS....ARE YOU, KATY COURIC,
LINDA BLOODWORTH, HILLARY, ETC., ETC., 'READY TO
HAVE OUR COUNTRY TAKEN OVER BY RADICAL ISLAM-AND
ARE YOU READY TO CONVERT? BECAUSE THIS, "IS THEIR
AGENDA-DO AWAY WITH DEMOCRACY, CREATE A TOTAL ISLAMIC WORLD, KILL 'INFIDELS-THAT MEANS AMERICANS
TO THEM-THEY WANT TO KILL US, AND "YOU ARE HELPING
THEM TO THAT GOAL" The weakness and vulnerability, is what they look for, (thus, 9/ll)
and you will help them achieve this again, just as
Clinton gave them "permission to attack-by the ineptness of protecting Americans by the weak countering of many attacks on the Clinton's watch"
YET, YOU PUBLICLY CONDEMN THE PRESIDENT, THAT HAS
'STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE, TO DEFEND US'...YOU, in
the MSM, would rather further the cause of a liberal Cindy Sheehan, etc. but WHAT, will you think, when we get "hit on American soil again-
will you blame Bush, when in fact, you are hampering his efforts in protecting us"??? Will
you continue your liberal/rhetoric, if someone is
killed in your own family? You need to decide,
which side, MSM, you are on. As Americans, that
are being targeted, should you NOT, show a united
front, rather than the divisiveness you have shown
to our enemies, that they definitely USE against us. Today, you should note, that 4 Iraqis were caught in Mexico, trying to make their way into the U.S.---DO YOU THINK THEY ARE COMING HERE TO SET UP TERROR CELLS---I DO, AND YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT AS WELL.....IF THEY WERE NOT UP TO NO GOOD, THEY WOULD COME HERE IN A LEGAL MANNER, NOW WOULDN'T THEY? KEEP AIDING AND ENABELING, MSM,
"AS THEY MAY JUST BE MOVING IN NEXT DOOR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY"

One trick pony: No real "drama" or interest beyond having a woman president. And one who wasn't even elected to the position for that matter. A show about a woman RUNNING for President would have been far more interesting, with her winning and taking office in the 2nd Season (if at all). Having the President die and her succeeding him was pretty much a cop-out.

Posted by: Orion [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 30, 2006 02:16 PM

The real interesting aspect, orion, is that in the show Geena isn't even a Democrat. She is an "independent". Man, that cracks me up. If they can't even speak their own name in their own propaganda vehicle that reveals some deep denial. Above all, it denies the tactical facts of electoral politics. It is good for us and the country that the dogmatists seem to be above anything so gritty, so gauche, so bourgeois as to actually contest an election. All those icky people you have to deal with ya know. I hope any dedicated "Commander in Chief" fans will dutifully vote for whatever "independent" candidate is on offer in '08. Nader '08! Yee ha!

"'Commander in Chief' will go on a brief broadcast hiatus so that it can return in the spring with all original episodes," the release said."

Watch for the release to be coordinated with Shrillary's campaign.

I have never seen a movie representing conservative politics in a positive light...never. While other countries are determining whether their government will survive or if their people have enough food and water and shelter, our media is preoccupied with "tough" issues such as taking gun ownership away from law-abiding citizens as in, "The Long Island Incident".

Or how about, "The West Wing", which is just a marketing plug for the Democratic party. Or "The Daily Show", which is funny, but so blatantly anti-Bush that it's pathetic. Big media is headquartered in NYC and it is run by individuals who reflect this blue city's ideas. And these ideas are exported out of liberal land to the rest of the world. The bias is so obvious and so old that Fox is one of the few shows worth watching.
