Donkey Say, Donkey Do

What happens when Osama bin Laden plugs a book critical of our foreign policy? The book jumps in sales...

An unexpected endorsement from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has resulted in a huge jump in sales for a book by a critic of U.S. foreign policy.

William Blum's "Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower" was ranked 209,000 on Amazon.com's sales list before bin Laden mentioned it in an audiotape released on Thursday. By Friday, the book was No. 30 on the Amazon.com list.

Bin Laden said al Qaeda group was preparing more attacks in the United States but also told Americans, "It is useful for you to read the book 'The Rogue State.'"

I wonder if MoveOn.org will hire Osama bin Laden as a spokesman now?

You know, I saw that quote on some other blog, forget which, and I thought certainly it was a joke. Well, Osama didn't outright plug but did favorably quote Farenheit 911. It seems the Al Quedists and our slandering Leftists are enjoying the "soft convergence" once expected between the US and USSR by such luminaries as Roosevelt. Oh, the joys of prescience! Give peace a chance, our Leftwing Defeatocats croon and Osama say... ooh yeah, baby!

You have a problem with peace?

Posted by: Canadian Observer at January 21, 2006 03:24 PM

Historically, rightwing Socialists do not believe in Peace, only war. The reason is that they do not think that man can be enlightened and that man's perfection is not possible. The religious right thinks it will be trial by actual fire not the fire of the inner mind and soul. They are armageddonists which is why they were so easily fooled, by the Zionists, into an unnecessary and illegal war. Peace

The democratic party is now the political wing of al queda. Its so sad how the dems have forgotten about 9/11. For the good of this country and for the world, the dems can never be allowed back in power.

Anyone here a rightwing socialist? Once i saw the word "Zionist", I knew I was dealing with a victim of brainwashing. Oh well.

Does anyone know if Hitler's book sales went through the roof during WW2?

What the heck is a Right Wing Socialist? I thought socialism was at a direct counter to standard "right wing" agendas. Even if we are war mongering wouldn't socialism just get in the way of our military budget?

Just wondering... Peace!

Steve,
Are you a pacifist? How many times would someone have to hit you before you defend yourself? Or your family?

Don't worry...my daughter is helping defending your rights and freedoms in the Air Force. Put on your Birkenstocks, go to Starbucks and read Mother Jones...right thinking Americans are in charge.

Pretty soon the dems won't be able to accuse Bush of the (supposed) lack of linkage between Al-Quada & Sadaam. They will to busy defending their own party from the evidence of linkage between Al-Quaida & them! Bwahahahaaaaaaaaa! Peace!

Posted by: bearmanUSMC [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 07:37 PM

That is interensting. A liberal terrorist????

Posted by: tom at January 21, 2006 08:35 PM

Attempts to link terrorism to the Democratic Party make fanatical Republicans look weak, it demonstrates a lack of foundation for the Republican party.

You have a problem with peace?

No, Canuck Non-Observer, we don't have a problem with peace. We have a problem with how the left has unsuccessfully pursued peace for the past 50 years or so. It hasn't worked, asshat. The world is not as it was. Just ask the party that's getting ready to retake charge of your own government, fool.

Attempts to link terrorism to the Democratic Party make fanatical Republicans look weak, it demonstrates a lack of foundation for the Republican party.

How so, SUSA? When I heard OBL's quotes read on the radio yesterday, I though they were Howard Al-Dean's. You know him, don't you? Well, let me clue you in--he's one of your DemocRATs who don't want us to win the war on terror. There are others.

Did you see that hack Cafferty on Blitzer's Situation Room, on CNN. He was making subtle suggestions that this OBL tape was a ploy to divert attention from the upcoming Senate Intel hearings on warrantless eavesdropping. Gee, maybe the tape was released to coincide with the President's upcoming SOTU address. Maybe it wasn't in Arabic after all; perhaps it was Teddy the Swimmer, after happy hour. Hey SUSA, there's another donk-turd who wants us to lose. Want me to name a few hundred more?

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 10:39 PM

The idea that "Democrats don't want to win the war on terror" is fantasy.

I'm completely floored by this; I have no argument for such a strong presentation of your case. You must be a grad student somewhere.

BTW, what does "SUSA" stand for?

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 22, 2006 10:34 AM

"Know thy enemy"

Maybe we can learn more about Osama's thought process by reading the book. That's why I read Rogue State.

Nebraska Militia,

Are you a Christian. When would you turn the other cheek?

Posted by: DeeCee48 [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 22, 2006 02:02 PM

DeeCee48

Your argument is either against Christianity or America's defense. The childish statement that you made requires clarification which you might not receive at a lib site.

Confronting terrorists and despots isn't merely the reaction to personal insults and injuries, there though they are, it is a matter of prudence.

Though there can be parallels between the life of a nation and that of the individual, to apply it here would be an error and misconception about very consequencial actualities: the difference between an individual seeking the right way and a democratic Republic. People trying to attack your country and kill innocents is more than someone "smiting thee on the right cheek."

It's hard to turn the other cheek once your enemy cuts your head off. It takes two (at least) to make peace amd only one to make war. Laying down your arms in the face of an enemy that wants your death above all can only have one outcome; your death. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive those of us who prefer to live.

Well you guys were emphatic in your response, esp. Mel X 3.

BUT neither of you answered the two (seperate) questions.

A) Are you Christian?

B) Is there any situation you would turn the other cheek?

Pretty simple. Please don't give me Repub talking points.

Posted by: DeeCee48 [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 23, 2006 12:50 PM

BTW Mel X 3

I prefer to live as well. Hope you will forgive me for disagreeing with those whose first response was to attack Iraq (?) and make us a bazillion new enemies.

We are not going to settle things by bombing a village in Pakistan and killing innocent civilians. I assume they would have preffered to live as well.
