ANNOUNCEMENT: Matt Margolis & Mark Noonan get a book deal!

November 09, 2006
Murtha extends the "middle finger of friendship" to his hometown newspaper

Murtha's hometown newspaper endorsed his return to Congress, with this particular caveat:

We are frightened by Murtha’s willingness to align himself with California Democrat Nancy Pelosi. Clearly, Murtha is hoping that relationship paves the way for his ascension to a position of higher power in the House. But we don’t believe our region’s values match well with Pelosi’s, and we don’t see much good coming for the 12th district– even if the relationship benefits the congressman.
and...
In the end, we endorse Murtha for another go-round in Washington.

But we urge him to remain faithful to his fiscally and socially conservative western Pennsylvania roots – even if it costs him in personal gain and national influence.
Was the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat so naive even for a moment to think that the senile, self-serving megalomaniacal windbag Jack Murtha would actually heed their advice?
Fresh off his victory in Tuesday’s general election, U.S. Rep. John Murtha already has his sights set on another round of voting.

With Democrats winning control of the House, Murtha now is one of two representatives in the running to become majority leader.

He already has been touted as one of the House’s most powerful Demo-crats. (sic)

Whether he wins the vote of his Democratic peers later this month will serve as a test of that assumption.

Murtha trounced Republican challenger Diana Irey, and Murtha told The Associated Press he “absolutely” will battle U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland – the House minority whip – for majority leader.

U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, minority leader, is poised to become the nation’s first female speaker of the House. If Murtha becomes majority leader, he would rank second among House Democrats behind her.

By virtue of his current position, Hoyer might seem a natural to ascend to majority leader.

But Murtha’s national profile has risen remarkably in the past year, largely due to his persistent criticism of the Bush administration and the war in Iraq.

An aide to Pelosi said her boss has not weighed in yet on the leadership race.

“(Pelosi) has the highest respect for Murtha,” aide Jennifer Crider said. “His stance on Iraq changed the debate on the Iraq war in this country.”
Face it, Democrat-Tribune--lo these 32 years, from ABSCAM to Haditha, Murtha has been in it for Murtha. There's no way that the megalomaniacal bastard would give up a power seat in congress; and yes, Murtha has proven time and time again that he will sell his very soul to achieve his political ambitions. And if you think that Murtha's seditious rhetoric will tone down anytime soon, think again:
The 32-year House veteran said voters had sent a message to President Bush and Republican congressional leaders.

“They don’t want a rubber-stamp Congress,” Murtha said Tuesday night. “They want a Congress that’s going to stand up.”

As for Bush’s future actions in Iraq, Murtha was blunt: “He’s not going to go on with this war.”
You can bet the farm that a Murtha-led congress will cut the funding for our troops and their mission, thus placing them in ever-increasing peril.

It will be Jack Murtha himself, not George Bush, who will turn Iraq into another Vietnam. And the consequences of another Vietnam this time around couldn't be deadlier.

The report didn't remain a secret for long: it was soon leaked to The New York Times, which nicknamed it "the Pentagon Papers." (from the linked article from foreignaffairs.org)

Leaks to the NYT? Well, there's one way in which Iraq has become Vietnam.

Guess it's time to measure the drapes. Eh?
Shows you what Bush knows.
Have a good day.

Now, now children. Enough with the name calling. You've been beaten fair and square. But you still don't get it. You were beaten because you only see the dems as your enemies! Indeed, Bush and his supporters were beaten because they no longer know who the enemy is or even the nature of the competition.
More later.
Have a good day.

Murtha is attempting to engineer an American defeat in the war. This is treason.

"And the consequences of another Vietnam this time around couldn't be deadlier."-Leo

No, they couldn't. These Islamic jihadis will come after us. Here's a taste of things to come...

Beheaded Girls Were Ramadan Trophies

Lgf, "New details have emerged about the horrific murders of three Indonesian Christian schoolgirls in October last year."

The Australian:

THREE Christian high school girls were beheaded as a Ramadan “trophy” by Indonesian militants who conceived the idea after a visit to Philippines jihadists, a court heard yesterday.

The girls’ severed heads were dumped in plastic bags in their village in Indonesia’s strife-torn Central Sulawesi province, along with a handwritten note threatening more such attacks. The note read: “Wanted: 100 more Christian heads, teenaged or adult, male or female; blood shall be answered with blood, soul with soul, head with head.”

Javanese trader Hasanuddin appeared in Jakarta Central Court yesterday charged with planning and directing the murders in October last year. He faces a death sentence if found guilty under anti-terrorism legislation.

Hasanuddin allegedly returned from a visit to members of Philippines Islamist group the Moro Islamic Liberation Front with tales of how that organisation regularly staged bombings to coincide with Lebaran, the festival that ends the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He later spoke with a preacher in Poso, Central Sulawesi, about whether such a plan could work in Indonesia, but expressed doubt about whether it was appropriate.

However, after further discussion with friends, he decided that beheading Christians could qualify as an act of Muslim charity.

Conscripting several accomplices at a local pesantren, or Islamic school, he directed one of them, Lilik Purnomo, to seek out “the head of a Christian”, prosecutors alleged.

“It would be a great Lebaran trophy if we got a Christian. Go search for the best place for us to find one,” Hasanuddin allegedly ordered his companion.

Lilik returned to say he had found an “excellent” target - a group of schoolgirls who travelled to and from class by foot in the Central Sulawesi village of Gebong Rejo.

If there had been one race that we could have picked up, I really wish it had been Diana Irey. Murtha is probably the most lothsome creature in the entire house as far as I'm concerned. I respect his military duty, as I did John Kerry's, but, yes Doug, they are traitors to this country as is Jane Fonda. We are in a war that we cannot afford to lose. This is something the left will not understand. There is no reasoning with radical islamists. You people are so afraid of the Christian right, but I have never heard of even the most radical of righty Christians cutting off peoples heads, stoning women in the streets etc. And you know the funny part is that Secular Progressives, feminists, and gay people will get especially harsh retribution from radical Islamists. Some of you might say I am gay bashing by saying that, but I am merely telling the left that they have a greater chance if we can somehow continue on and win the WOT than if we cut and run. Nixon was forced to withdraw from Viet Nam by the radical left in this country and millions of Vietnamese died in the process. If we withdraw from Iraq before the Iraqi people can stand on their own, I can almost guarantee you that it won't stop at millions of Iraqis, but American citizens will not be safe anywhere.

1600 young British Muslims under MI5 Surveillance for Plotting Terror

Daily Mail: At least 1600 young British Muslims are under surveillance for plotting terrorist violence against Britain, according to the head of MI5.

Eliza Manningham Buller delivered a stark assessment of the threat facing the country from 200 terror networks stretching from the UK to Pakistan, including 30 "Priority 1" plots.

In August Home Secretary John Reid claimed to know of 24 "major conspiracies", suggesting the dangers posed by organised terrorists is growing.

Delivering the Government's latest assessment of the terror threat, the Director General of the Security Service revealed that her agency's caseload has increased by 80 per cent since January.

She said: "That threat is serious is growing and will, I believe, be with us for a generation. It is a sustained campaign, not a series of isolated incidents. It aims to wear down our will to resist."

What about the people who murder abortion doctors?

Or my favorite counter-example, one Mr. Timothy McVeigh. He was in a radical Christian group that is fueled by hate and racism. His Christianity is as related to actual Christianity as Osama's is to actual Islam. You should get to know some Muslims. McVeigh slaughtered innocents. He died because of it. Osama slaughtered innocents, and your president let him get away.

Your partisan rancor won't let you admit that a Republican can do wrong. Bush has failed in Iraq and in doing so distracted from the war on terror. It wasn't a civil war before we invaded. The foreign terrorists are a small fraction of the problem there. The civil war is something we cannot win, by definition.

What we can do is win the war on terror by focusing on Al Qaeda, killing Osama, and going after them everywhere, by every means, not just the military. Bush failed America and the Iraqis. It's time to find a solution.

Your implication that people like me, liberals, Democrats do not want us to succeed is the height of shamefulness. Your hatred of your countrymen, especially some of your leaders, seems to exceed your hatred of terrorists.

"What about the people who murder abortion doctors?"-by: DougW

Murder violates Christianity. The perpetrators of these murders were roundly condemned and punished by the nationwide Christian majority. I've only heard of a few such cases. I want a list of these cases. How many abortion doctors have been murdered by Christians, in the name of Christianity over the last 50 years? 5? 10? 15? more?

In comparison, Islam teaches Muslims to kill infidels. In the past 5 years, Muslims have carried out more than 6,494 deadly terrorist attacks in the name of Islam around the world.

"...Timothy McVeigh. He was in a radical Christian group that is fueled by hate and racism."-by: DougW

Are you claiming McVeigh blew up the OKC Federal building in the name of God and Christianity?

"...as Osama's is to actual Islam."-DougW

False. You obviously knowing nothing of actual Islam. Osama bin Laden is a true Muslim. Read the Qu'ran's last chapter Sura 9. It's a declaration of war against all infidels until Islam rules the world and all are subjugated to Islam.

...Or you can read a more succinct summation of Islam's teachings on jihad and dhimmitude (the subjugation of Jews and Christians to Muslim rule) by Ali Eteraz. Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch comments on the article about Islam by Ali Eteraz:

Robert Spencer, "What's more, the article [by Ali Eteraz] affirms the traditional rules of jihad and dhimmitude...":

Ali Eteraz,..."In short, the Qur'an says that it is the unalterable law of God that when He sends His messenger to a people, the polytheists among these people are left with no option, but to accept His message or to face the punishment of death and sometimes complete annihilation.

The Qur'an goes further to tell us how this punishment was implemented on the polytheists from among the rejecters of the Prophet (pbuh). It tells us that although the previous nations of the messengers of God were annihilated, because of their rejection, through (apparently) natural calamities, the believers of Muhammad (pbuh), because God has given them rule in a land (Madinah), shall fight the rejecters and, thereby, through these believers shall God implement His punishment (Al-Tawbah 9: 14 - 16). It directs them that the Mushrikeen should be killed, without any exception. They should only be allowed to live if they accept Islam (Al-Tawbah 9: 5). On the other hand, it also directs them that the Jews and the Christians (because they were not polytheists - i.e. Mushrik), even if they do not enter the folds of Islam, they may be allowed to live if they accept to live under the Muslim rule and agree to pay the appointed Jizyah (Al-Tawbah 9: 29).

DougW says,
"Bush has failed in Iraq and in doing so distracted from the war on terror.[..]What we can do is win the war on terror by focusing on Al Qaeda, killing Osama, and going after them everywhere...."

Well, DougW., Osama bin Laden has declared IRAQ the 'capital of the Caliphate'. Osama bin laden and Al Qaeda consider Iraq the central battlefield of the GWOT.

The Terrorists Consider Iraq "The Central Battlefield" In The War On Terror.-White House.gov

THE PRESIDENT: "But they've made clear that the most important front in their struggle against America is Iraq - the nation bin Laden has declared the 'capital of the Caliphate.' Hear the words of bin Laden: 'I now address... the whole... Islamic nation: Listen and understand... The most... serious issue today for the whole world is this Third World War... [that] is raging in [Iraq].' He calls it 'a war of destiny between infidelity and Islam.' He says, 'The whole world is watching this war,' and that it will end in 'victory and glory or misery and humiliation.' For al Qaeda, Iraq is not a distraction from their war on America - it is the central battlefield where the outcome of this struggle will be decided." (President Bush, Remarks, Washington, DC, 9/5/06)

-The US withdrew prematurely from Vietnam and lost the war.

-Murtha urged the Clinton Administration to cut-and-run from Somalia in 1993.

What do the Muslim terrorists think of these actions by America? In a post by Jonathan R. at GOP Bloggers, read what the terrorists say in their own words:

Ayman al-Zawahiri: "The aftermath of the collapse of American power in Vietnam-and how they ran and left their agents-is noteworthy"

Osama bin Laden: ""We have seen in the last decade the decline of American power and the weakness of the American soldier who is ready to wage Cold Wars, but unprepared to fight long wars. This was proven in Beirut in 1983 when the Marines fled after two explosions. It also proves they can run in less than 24 hours, and this was also repeated in Somalia (in 1993).""

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah: "Regardless of how the world has changed after 11 September, Death to America will remain our reverberating and powerful slogan: Death to America."

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "Undoubtedly, I say that this slogan and goal is achievable, and with the support and power of God, we will soon experience a world without the United States"

What did Murtha say, today?

Regarding Iraq:

Winning is not a strategy, victory is not a strategy.

What Democrats will do:

We’re gonna say, here’s a plan that we have, and Speaker Pelosi has signed on to the plan I have, stability in the Middle East, stability in Iraq comes from redeployment of our troops, and that’s gonna be what we’ll work for.

Neither Murtha, nor the Democrats have learned their history lessons.

Posted by: Freedom1 [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 10, 2006 05:13 AM

Murths is right about the war being a disaster.

These are facts..Open your eyes.
