ACLU Drops Patriot Act Lawsuit

This kinda puts a dent in leftwing claims that we're one step away from dictatorship:

The American Civil Liberties Union has dropped a three-year-old lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the USA Patriot Act, months after Congress rewrote parts of the law.

The ACLU said Friday it is withdrawing the lawsuit because of "improvements to the law."

The ACLU didn't like the "improvements in the law" when it was re-authorised, so what this really amounts to is recognition that the Patriot Act will survive Court challenge...which means, in turn, that the "we're all gonna die!' rhetoric out of the left about the Act was, well, a pack of lies.

Really, lefties, why don't you try the truth - if you do it just once, it'll become easier the second time.
