With eight days before the midterm elections, the New York Times ran a front page story today alleging that "the American military has not properly tracked hundreds of thousands of weapons intended for Iraqi security forces.” Does sthis story sound a bit familiar to you? It should.
On October 25, 2004, "coincidentally" eight days before the president election, the New York Times published a story that falsely alleged missing weapons at the al Qa’qaa weapons facility in Iraq.
Looks like the media is trying to pull another phony October Surprise. We already knew they had an agenda, but they could have tried a different kind of story this time.

I thought the same thing. Since their attempt at the al qaa qaa lie was exposed in record time you'd think they would try something different.

Wow, you really must have had some kind of fact filter installed in your brain. You reject a federal report, and the military's acknowledgments of problems, are a fabricated October surprise?
In a written response to the inspector general’s findings, the American military largely conceded the shortcomings. The military said it would assist the Iraqis in determining the spare parts and maintenance requirements for the weapons. The military also said it has now instituted a “process to accurately issue weapons by quantity and serial number listing.”

You really have to wonder, if the libs didnt have 99% of the MSM acting as their waterboy, would they ever have a chance of winning another election?
The only thing keeping the farce known as the democratic party alive is the press, and at that, barely. If the media told the truth about the dems, they would never again hold power. Its sad sad sad.

Uh, the report in question was undertaken at the request of Sen John Warner, the Republican chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Warner's request was made of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, which is also in Republican hands. The report was requested in May and issued by the Special Inspector General on Sunday - hence, it was widely reported in the news today.
The NYT didn't make this up out of thin air.

Well, if Harry Reid cannot "properly track" "returns on investments" and other "contributions" or some other spun phrase........
Well whittledhead, the story is the chosing of what the MSM desides to cover and what is does not.........
Are you saying it's purely coincidental that all lib scandals do not get 1/100th the attention that Republican scandals get?
I've got some swampland in Louisiana and it's ready to build on.....

Bah, this is the twilight of the democratic party.
Lets say they do gain back control, what will happen? Since you asked I will tell you; they will close Gitmo, pull the troops from Iraq, underfund the Afghanistan effort and appease Iran...all in an effort to fulfill the demands of the far-left whackheads who worked on their behalf.
The dems know full well that they MUST kowtow to the base of liberal lunatics, its the new power structure of the the left. Problem is, when the dems actually start doing what the base wants, the rest of America (the normal people) will get a full-frontal view of what the they have become.
Two years of watching America getting laughed at by the terrorists and dictators and our citizenry will finally understand; democrats are going to get us all killed if allowed to retain power.
Enjoy your win if you get it libs, two years and youre done forever. The twilight of the democratic party is at hand.

I think dems have set themselves up again, although this time they kinda haven't gone as far overboard with victory predictions, unless you think a 40 seat gain qualifies as wishful "feeling".
Get the vote out and crush 'em for good!

Again, what you yahoos fail to understand is that this was a Republican report, not a report from the NYT. Republican Senator Warner asked for the inquiry from the Republican Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction.
Apparently, at least some Republican Senators want to know how our taxes are being spent in Iraq. Imagine that - some Republicans have integrity! So sorry if the answer reflects poorly on the dear leader, George W Bush.
If you read the report, some 300,000 US weapons sent to Iraq have just disappeared. So our taxes are going towards arming insurgents fighting each other and US troops in Iraq. Does any of that alarm any of you? Or are you more concerned about how this Republican report might affect close mid-term elections? Or are you more concerned about protecting the dear leader from damning information?
Who comes first? - Dear Leader Bush, or our troops?
