ANNOUNCEMENT: Matt Margolis & Mark Noonan get a book deal!

October 22, 2006
How About a Republican Senator From Hawaii?

Stranger things have happened - you know, like the GOP electing a governor of Hawaii in 2002 for the first time in 40 years...and then having her cruising to re-election in 2006. Hawaii is a very reliably blue State, but maybe 40 years of Democratic mismanagement and corruption have been enough for Aloha State voters?

So, if you'd like to really twist the electoral knife in to the Democrats, stop by Cynthia Theilen's website and make a donation - and volunteer if you live in Hawaii. She's not rock-ribbed conservative - but, then again, she is from Hawaii, which ain't exactly Utah, ya know? But we are the genuine Party of the big tent - so, let's help this GOPer make the Senate Democrats squeel.

I'm a Republican and I live in Hawaii. Thielen was chosen by our Republican Governor Linda Lingle to replace Jerry Coffee who dropped out of the race because he suffered a heart attack. In my opinion, she is a poor choice. She has publicly expressed opposition to some of President Bush's decisions. She joined the Democrats in calling for Rumsfield's resignation, she opposes drilling at home as she is an environmentalist wacko and was endorsed by the Sierra Club. IMO, she's a McCain type "Republican" who will cave easily to the Democrats in our state.
