We conservatives do NOT hate gays, minorities or illegal aliens. Instead, we have legitimate positions. We believe that gays should be TOLERATED. That is NOT hate. However, because we do not accept homosexually as normal, we are FALSELY ACCUSED of hate. Because we refuse to accept preferences for minorities, we are FALSELY ACCUSED of racism. Because we have a problem with people of all colors and origins who break the law, we are FALSELY ACCUSED of hating illegal aliens. These false accusations are the real hate.

I would also point out that in 1976, 12 years AFTER the Civil Rights Act, Democrat Jimmy Carter solidly carried the South. The Democrats lost the South because they became hostile to gun rights, pro-lifers, military strength, Christians having the right to pray in public (not just in public schools), and other reasons that have NOTHING to do with slavery, lynching or discrimination, but were wrongly associated with these things by the Democrats, and by axis.

I’ve read a number of Jeremiah’s post to think otherwise. And your accusation is typical as to why no one should take you serious. If you reread Bigfoot’s post I think it explains what most Conservatives, Republicans, Christians, Jews and many others of faith believe. He states quite well that we do NOT hate gays, minorities or aliens. In fact I think you’ll find a number of Conservatives, Republicans, Christians, Jews, etc… who profess to be gay, who are from a minority group or who are or were at one time aliens. IF however their actions detract from the good of society then we as a group have a legitimate position to oppose those actions.

You might think your post are stating truth and will help those in need. The leaders of the liberal mindset use people like you to further their agenda. Racism IS NOT a political philosophy. There are going to be Democrats today who are racists (they after all, were the original party of statutory racial oppression). Morphie, the only southern Democrat/segregationists I can think of that switched to the GOP back in the 50's and 60's were Jesse Helmes and Strom Thurmond. The vast majority like Albert Gore Sr., William Fulbright, Sam Ervin, Richard Russell and Robert Byrd all remained Democrats. Now there have been a number of Democrats who have switched parties where race was not a factor, like Ronald Reagan and Arlan Specter. Since you obviously have "done the research", who else did you have in mind.
