What I had hoped for is happening: Reid is being
looked into for his "graft and corruption", and next up, I'd like to see Murtha being looked into more closely for the sweet deal he maneuvered for his brother in law. Pelosi needs looking into for
hiring illegal aliens for her restaurant/winery businesses. Sandy Berger, now that's a "definite
investigation that needs to find copies of what he stole from the National Archives, to sanitize
his, and the Clintons ineptness at fighting the war on Terrorism. Destroying this evidence, is very telling to me, as it would have incriminated the whole lot of them, and since the Clinton's are trying to rewrite their history, well, you get the picture here, don't you? These two have been corrupt since the beginning of their 'reign in Arkansas, and just continued with business as usual once they made it to the Whitehouse. I am hoping that there are copies of these papers, with
which the real truth will be exposed, along with the coverup, once and for all. No one goes to the lengths, that Sandy Burgler did, stuffing papers into his socks and pants, without some highly flammable stuff in them and I want this investigation to kick into "full throttle"....we all should.

I'm still wondering why the words of a U.S. soldier who served in Iraq were censored on this site, while a suggestion that said soldier signed up only to get benifits fromt he government.
In the past, ANY words that could be interpreted as being any where close to critical of US soldiers have been deleted on this site.

seen that satellite shot of the korean pennsula taken at nite? the one where south korea is all lite-up & north korea looks like a black hole?
what the F*** are sanctions gonna do to a black hole?
meanwhile, we got the most lethal assult force in world history tied-up half way around the world policing feudal tribes who've been killing each other for TWO THOUSAND YEARS or so.
I get the part about invading Iraq. the left's arguments are ex-post facto & ultimately pacifist in nature.
I DO NOT get the part about turning an assult force into policemen when we need that threat elsewhere.

Will the current global cooling cause the polar bear population to increase? Or will it also decrease because of freezing instead of falling into the oceans? Will NYC and Detroit become extinct because of people freezing to death unless Chavez gives away more oil?
This is worse than last decades global warming!

If you don't get the point about Iraq then you don't understand tactics. The ENEMY wanted to choose the battleground. Afganistan.. So they could try anti Soviet style tactics against a large force. GW BUSH SELECTED Iraq as the battleground against Islamic radicalism. This turns the tables on the enemy. Sorry we can't give the enemy the full battle plan on CNN. That's so stupid of an idea.

OhioOrrin said,
-"what the F*** are sanctions gonna do to a black hole?"
You've got this backwards. North Korea is extra dependent on outside help precisely because it's a "black hole". They depend on imports of almost all the basics - food, oil, coal, electricity, - because they can't feed themselves, and they have very little industry.
Sanctions are supremely effective against these guys. The tighter the better.

Drudge reports
"Air America Radio, a liberal talk and news radio network that features the comedian Al Franken, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told The AP.
The network had denied rumors just a month ago that it would file for bankruptcy. On Friday, Air America spokeswoman Jaime Horn told The Associated Press that the filing became necessary only recently after negotiations with a creditor from the company's early days broke down."
They report assets of $4.3 million and liabilities of $20 million. Bwahahahaha!
What amazes me is that according to the MSM and all liberal media outlets 60%+ of the US supports the liberal agenda...yet somehow they can't even keep one lousy radio station afloat (without giant subsidies for lefty's like Soros). The market place of ideas has rejected liberal talk radio once again.
Bwahahahahahaha!!

I'm sure you've all heard the news that Air America filed Chapter 11 today. Over on the leftwing websites forum posters are blaming this on - I kid you not - "The right wingers in charge of the network!"

Just got this e-mail from a conservative friend.
One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The florist is pleased and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open his shop there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The cop is happy and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.
Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The Republican is very happy and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card and a dozen different books such as "How to Improve Your Business" and "Becoming More Successful."
Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The Democrat is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Democrats lined up waiting for a free haircut.
(And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between left and right...)
YES IT DOES.

Retired Spook,
I know the Reid thing is going to 'hit the fan', as a few days ago, I posted on this over on:
HumanEvents.com You may want to take a look at that site too, as it is yet another source of getting "the word out on the antics of the Dems",
and we all Need to do what we can in this upcoming
election. Hope you will all check it out-there's a good article by Ann Coulter on BJ Clinton, that
shows yet another attempt by them to 'cleanse their record of the past'

Posting again here-bear with me okay. As for so many postings in the past, I have been saying as many, that the Dems are "nostalgic for the Viet Nam days-where protests against that war by the Libs, contributed to us losing it"..they loved having influence in those events, and the Viet Cong had admitted, that they were going to give up
but, the American public that were against the war
kept them in the battle, and they WON. Isn't this
the same thing the Leftists/Dems are trying to do in our efforts against Terrorists still today? You bet it is, and just like the VietCong, the Libs, are "empowering and emboldening our enemies with their rhetoric, and thus, the Terrorists, are
using the same tactics in using the Dems own words
to stay their course". The Dems showed that we were weak and vulnerable in the Clinton's ineptness, and we were forced to take an aggressive means of handling them. The enemy is using the Dems own words to divide America, and they are pouring on the fighting BECAUSE, they are trying to INFLUENCE OUR ELECTIONS. THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE CREATING A MEDIA WAR, BY USING THE LEFTIST DEMS, WHO ARE MORE LIKE THEIR ALLIES, THAN
AMERICANS WHO WANT TO WIN THIS WAR. IRAN IS BEHIND MOST OF WHAT IS HAPPENING, "AND THE DEMS WANT TO WEAKEN PRESIDENT BUSH THROUGH THEIR OWN HATRED OF HIM, BECAUSE THEY WOULD RATHER LOSE THIS WAR, THAN TO GIVE PRESIDENT BUSH CREDIT FOR FIGHTING BACK. IT IS ONLY ABOUT REGAINING POWER AND THEIR CAREERS TO THE DEMS, AND THEY CARE LESS THAT WE AS AMERICANS, WIN THIS WAR AGAINST THESE RADICAL ISLAMOFACISTS, WHO WANT TO KILL AMERICANS,
AND THE WESTERN SOCIETY AS WE KNOW IT.
SO, 'KEEP TALKING DEMS...THE ENEMY HEARS YOU, AS YOU ARE LIKE A SHOT IN THE ARM TO THEIR HATREDS, JUST AS YOUR OWN. YOU, HAVE DIVIDED OUR COUNTRY AND AIDED OUR ENEMIES.

Religion of Peaceful Beheading
LGF, "Representatives of the Religion of Peace™, humiliated by the Pope’s recent comments suggesting a link between Islam and violence, kidnapped and decapitated an Orthodox priest in Mosul:"
"Relatives of beheaded Iraqi priest say kidnappers demanded apology for pope Muslim comments"
Associated Press: MOSUL, Iraq - Relatives of an Orthodox priest who was kidnapped and found beheaded three days later said Thursday that his captors had demanded his church condemn the pope’s recent comments about Islam and pay a US$350,000 (€280,000) ransom.
More than 500 people attended a memorial service Thursday for father Amer Iskender in the northern city of Mosul after his decapitated body was found Wednesday evening in an industrial area of the city.
Iskender was a priest at the St. Ephrem Orthodox church in Mosul.
“He was a good man and we all shed tears for him,” said Eman Saaur, a 45-year-old schoolteacher who said she attended Iskender’s church regularly. “He was a man of peace.”

I just thought I'd see what you all thought about the "unlawful Killing" of Tery Lloyd, the journalist killed by US troops.
It has been ruled here by the coroner that Terry Lloyd was, basically murdered by American troops. He was in a convoy that was fired on by Americans, there was clearly no danger to the troops particularly since the minibus (which was marked as non-combatant) he was in, he was lying in the back injured, which was on teh way to hospital was driving away from the US troops. Yet they kept shooting the same when the only surviving member of his crew stood up with his hands in the air they kept shooting. I am not having a go at American Troops but I wanted to see your perspective on this issue.
There has of course been a backlash in britain, as there was with all the other "friendly fire" incidents, such as the shooting down of the RAF Plane.
Do you think that the American troops and comanding officers responsible should be brought to justice? As I am sure you undoubtably would if it was an American killed in an incident like that.
I am not having a go, as I know it's a hard job all the coallition troops are doing and in general they are doing an excellent job. I would just like an American perspective on this because here we are resigned to the fact those responsible will never face a court.

The Death Rattles of Britain
"Schoolgirl arrested for refusing to study with non-English pupils"
The Daily Mail: A teenage schoolgirl was arrested by police for racism after refusing to sit with a group of Asian students because some of them did not speak English.
Codie Stott’s family claim she was forced to spend three-and-a-half hours in a police cell after she was reported by her teachers. The 14-year-old - who was released without charge - said it had been a simple matter of commonsense and accused the school and police of an over-the-top reaction.
The incident happened in the same local education authority where a ten-year-old boy was prosecuted earlier this year for calling a schoolfriend racist names in the playground, a move branded by a judge “political correctness gone mad.”
Codie was attending a GCSE science class at Harrop Fold High School in Worsley, Greater Manchester, when the incident happened. The teenager had not been in school the day before due to a hospital appointment and had missed the start of a project, so the teacher allocated her a group to sit with.
“She said I had to sit there with five Asian pupils,” said Codie yesterday. “Only one could speak English, so she had to tell that one what to do so she could explain in their language. Then she sat me with them and said ‘Discuss’.”
According to Codie, the five - four boys and a girl - then began talking in a language she didn’t understand, thought to be Urdu, so she went to speak to the teacher.
“I said ‘I’m not being funny, but can I change groups because I can’t understand them?’ But she started shouting and screaming, saying ‘It’s racist, you’re going to get done by the police’.”
Codie said she went outside to calm down where another teacher found her and, after speaking to her class teacher, put her in isolation for the rest of the day.
A complaint was made to a police officer based full-time at the school, and more than a week after the incident on September 26 she was taken to Swinton police station and placed under arrest.
“They told me to take my laces out of my shoes and remove my jewellery, and I had my fingerprints and photograph taken,” said Codie. “It was awful.”

I hardly think that signifys the death rattles of Britain, the same thing would have happend if she said it about a Jew, a black person, a chinese person a christian whatever. Anyway, as I feel I need to point out the UK is comprised of four countries - Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England. There is a larger threat from nationalism from these countries particularly Scotland, of destroying Britain. If a country, scotland, that was united in a union with another, England, can retain her national pride and identity for hundreds of years, despite many attempts to marginalise her, then I think Britain can cope.
Also the Daily Mail is a Tabloid and Tabloids not exactly highly renowned for their investigative journalism. It also happens to take an anti-immigration stand the majority of times hence the above article.
I have noticed comments on the death of Europe but I think that's a rather large overreaction. There is no danger of Europe falling under Sharia law or extremists. A couple of articles on certain stories like taxi drivers not picking up a blind women with her guide dog or tever does not show that Europe is dying. I can not imagine The French, The Germans , The British and the rest of Europe get into that kind of situation. They have survived too long and with different types of terrorists to allow another new threat defeat them.
Posted by: weefee at October 13, 2006 05:36 PM
Okay, weefee I'll give you that these little articles don't show "the death of Europe" but isn't the 40+ day long rioting by muslim sections of France a huge sign that SOMETHING is wrong? That riots can sweep multiple countries at the same time in Europe are a sing of some other problem is it not?
Personally, I just want to wish everyone a happy Triskaidekaphobia Day! :)

weefee, if even remotely accurate, isn't the article a sign of atleast an over reaction by the teacher? I mean, she was in a group not speaking a language she understood, so she should be arrested?

Air America failed for one reason....they aren't any different than the Mainstream News Media. The MSM is liberal and Air America is liberal. Simply too many players in the liberal news market so they couldn't survive.

The french riots in the banlieus are mainly poverty related although of course religion will play a part, they are in mainly immigrant areas. These people rioting are not all Muslim either there are a lot African immigrants in those areas who are not necessarily Muslim. The riots started as a result of the death of 2 teenagers who died while alledgedly being chased by police. The m,ain problems in theses areas are unemployment, poverty, crime. This is not the first time riots have broke out in the Banlieus earlier on this year there were huge protests after M Sarkozy tried to introduce the law that would make it easier to sack young people. All the other riots that have happened in France like the one in 1968 against the Algerian war has never spread so why should this one?
I agree this was an over reaction but this kind of thing happends all the time, an example is in Scotland there is tension between Catholics and Protestants and a Catholic footballer (soccer player) is being prosecuted for doing the catholic cross, blessing himself as it may insult people which is as daft as the article above. Political correctness has gone mad but we have to start looking at ways to resolve issues like this rather than attacking specific groups of people be they white, black, purple.
Maybe because we don't have the same aggrevation up here between Muslim and other communities lik they do in England, I don't see it as such a huge deal, many of my friend are immigrants or Muslims and I just think there is such a culture of fear of new people, of different Ideas.
I just feel that a lot of people are over reacting to a situation that is nowhere near as bad as it seems. Although there have been a lot of anti-muslim attacks since Jack Straw opened his mouth about women wearing the veil. I must point out that almost all have been carried out by white biggots and not the other way about, no matter what you feel about a women wearing a veil there is no excuse for attacking her in the street.

I have noticed comments on the death of Europe but I think that's a rather large overreaction. There is no danger of Europe falling under Sharia law or extremists.
I suggest you go live there for a while--I left England in 1991 after nearly eight years there with the military, and I saw a bit of it creeping in then.

I understand what it's like to work behind possible blocking software, I work for NASA after all. Though I would also complain if all of a sudden I couldn't get to B4B, LGF, or Captain's Quarters but I could still got to KOS. Either it's just poor IT management, or a deliberate screening. Though if deliberate I could think of some reasons why it's not malicious.
First off, if you're screening out stuff people WANT to see to keep them from wasting time online then you check where folks are going. If this is the case I'm happy to see all the Conservative blogs on there. :)
Though I think the most likely reason is stupid software/IT work.

Could it be that another Republican is in trouble with the law?
This article begs the question...is there are Republican, anywhere, that isn't in some kind of trouble, whether legal, political or moral? How many of these guys are going to show up before election day? Are there any conservatives out there that can say, with a straight face, "no, all the bad apples have now been caught"? How many more bad apples can possibly exists in any one barrel?

Oliva, The bad apple Republicans would be considered outstanding if Democrats.
Connect the dots, which you obviously can't.

I don't know Jim. I'm sure there are plenty on here who can point out dem after dem after dem who have been convicted, under investigation, etc. Many who have been under past scrutiny and yet still serve in congress. So please, get off your high horse and realize that many politicians, not just Republicans have issues.
The real question is, what does the party do with that individual when they're found out? Hmm? I can think of three Republicans that were immedietly removed from their jobs (either through retiring or firing) because of incidents. How many dems have done the same?
Posted by:
Gozer at October 15, 2006 12:02 AM
Gozer,
To a degree. McKinney's gone, and Pelosi threw William Jefferson (rightfully) under a bus. Do the Dems shelter their crooks more than the Repubs? Sure, but the voters ultimately decide who to send back to congress. If the voters in some deep blue district want a crook, they get one. It doesn't hurt them any, and a different Dem would vote exactly the same way on all the hot-button issues anyway. The Repubs are, in general, "one strike and you're out" types, and the Dems aren't. In essense, that makes it far easier for us to "strike out" your guys. You may not like it, but there's no much you can do about it.
For those that love to try to find something wrong with the Democrats whenever a republican gets in trouble...it's not working. Certainly the MSM doesn't care, but why doesn't it show up on Drudge? The Reid story isn't anywhere, except winger blogs. Drudge links to a story about the WSJ story on Republican Charles Taylor, accused of minor corruption (why the WSJ is going after Republicans like this I have no idea).
One of two things is going on. Either there ius a vast conspiracy against republicans by the MSM (likely) and conservative media (unlikely), or the Republicans really are worse than the democrats, at least in this current congress.
I think I'll stay on my high horse a while longer, thanks. Surely you admit the incredible volume of scandals in such a short period of time are quite extraordinary. The guy (Weldon) IS under investigation by the FBI, and like Jefferson, should rightly get lampooned here and elsewhere.
Obviously this story and the one about Charles Taylor won't have the impact that Foley had, but who knows? I haven't heard Dems really using the "Enough is Enough" line nearly as hard as they should be. Maybe this will wake them up and really turn the screws on you guys. The Dems, as always, look over cautious to me. I'd be yelling "Enough is Enough" on TV every 15 minutes until the election. (But hey I wanted Kerry to use the "Iraq distracts from the WOT in Afghanistan" line and he didn't either...sigh)

Rushdie on the Religion of Peace
LGF, "Here’s a great interview with Salman Rushdie, full of insight into the evil of radical Islam and the willful blindness of Western liberal elites."
"Salman Rushdie: His life, his work and his religion"
The Independent: “If tomorrow the Israel/Palestine issue was resolved to the total happiness of all parties, it would not diminish the amount of terrorism coming out of al-Qa’ida by one jot. It’s not what they’re after,” he adds, his foot tapping against mine as he leans forward. “Yes, it’s a recruiting tool, rhetorically. Many people see there’s an injustice there, and it helps them to get people into the gang, but it’s not what they want. What they want is to change the nature of human life on earth into the image of the Taliban. If you want the whole earth to look like Taliban Afghanistan, then you’re on the same side as them. If you don’t want that, you’re not. They do not represent the quest for human justice. That, I think, is one of the great mistakes of the left.”
Within this Talibanist morality, there is room for great slabs of delusion and hypocrisy. In Shalimar the Clown, Rushdie shows sparingly how the jihadi fighters of Afghanistan have sex with adolescent boys, and the next day chop to pieces men they have dubbed “homosexual”. “One of the great untold stories of al-Qa’ida is that they are all these men who f-ck little boys. They all have these disciples who they’re ostensibly training in the way of the warrior, but they’re also enjoying. For a while, then they go off - and they have their wives and families at home. It’s like Classical Greece.” Does he think Osama bin Laden has done it? “I wouldn’t like to say,” he says tactfully. “He’s an Arab, he’s not an Afghan. But Mullah Omar, he’s another story...”
He senses soft racism in the refusal to see Islamic fundamentalists for what they are. When looking at the Christian fundamentalists of the United States, most people see an autonomous movement of superstitious madmen. But when they look at their Islamic equivalents, they assume they cannot mean what they say. “One of the things that’s commonly said by Islamists is that it’s acceptable to bomb a disco, because a disco is a place where people are behaving in a disgusting way. Go away and die - that’s all bin Laden wants you to do. It’s not just about Iraq, it’s about ham sandwiches and kissing in public places and sex with girls you’re not married to.” He pauses. “It’s about life.” [..]
"What I fear most is that, when we look back in 25 years' time at this moment, what we will have seen is the surrender of the West, without a shot being fired. They'll say that in the name of tolerance and acceptance, we tied our own hands and slit our own throats. One of the things that have made me live my entire life in these countries is because I love the way people live here."
************
This line-"When looking at the Christian fundamentalists of the United States, most people see an autonomous movement of superstitious madmen" is further indication of just how far gone Europe is. Sad. Really sad.

Non-Muslim students at Islamic school forced to wear headscarves
Daily Mail: Female students at a new Islamic school will be made to wear head scarves regardless of their religion, it was revealed yesterday. The Madani High School in Leicester will be required by law to accept 10 per cent of its 600 pupils from a non-Muslim background. But girls who are not Muslim will still have to abide by a rule insisting all female pupils cover their heads as part of the uniform.

Shari'a Law in the UK, here we come!
Posted by: Freedom1 at October 15, 2006 03:25 AM
1H8L1BS, i do live there! I am Scottish, I have family and friends in England, Northern Ireland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy. My boyfriend is German, I can't be much more European.
Firstly there have been no laws passed that support Sharia law, definetly not in Scotland as we have our own parliament, and as far as I am aware none in England. There would bea huge out cry if there was coz right now the the racists are out in force attacking Muslims, fire bombing mosques, attacking women for wearing the veil.
The hedscarves being worn in a Muslim school. Wow what a shock!, If you choose to go to a religious school you have to follow their rules. ie at the Jewish school they wear skull caps, at catholic schools you have to take mass and pray, so why is wearing a headscarf any different? Plus the UK has strict school uniform rules last year a girl was banned from wearing Hijab by the school and later the courts, not exactly showing the introduction of Sharia law is it?
France has activley banned school children from wearing ANY religious symbol, which includes the veil, jewish skull caps, crosses etc. That is hardly responding to Islamic Fundamentalists wishes. There wasn't even a huge riot about it, which for the French is Unusual! So it is pretty much generally accepted.
Britain, well England, has suffered huge riots before, i.e Oldham and Burnley. These happende about 5 years ago and we are still not running about in Burqas, hell we have invaded to Muslim countries not bad for a country falling under Sharia law.

Christian BA employee to take legal action over suspension for wearing cross
thisislondon.co.uk: A committed Christian said today she planned to take legal action against her employers British Airways after the airline ruled that displaying her crucifix breached uniform rules. Heathrow check-in worker Nadia Eweida was sent home after refusing to remove the crucifix which breached BA's dress code. [..]
Miss Eweida, who has an unblemished record during seven years at BA, is suing her employer for religious discrimination after being suspended from work without pay for two weeks.
She said her treatment was all the more extraordinary as she and fellow employees had just undergone "diversity training" - including receiving advice from pressure group Stonewall on how to treat gays and lesbians in the workplace.
The airline's uniform code states that staff must not wear visible jewellery or other 'adornments' while on duty without permission from management. It makes exceptions for Muslim and Sikh minorities by allowing them to wear hijabs and turbans.

Weefee also said, "The hedscarves being worn in a Muslim school. Wow what a shock!, If you choose to go to a religious school you have to follow their rules."
Weefee, the ease with which you justify the arrest of a 14 year old girl for refusing to study with non-English students; and the ease with which you justify the sexist oppression of non-Muslim girls who are forced to wear a veil-in a WESTERN nation-is frightening. Absolutely frightening.
Weefee, did you know that some non-Muslim women in France are wearing veils around their neighborhoods out of fear of Muslim men? De-facto Shari'a Law is already being practiced in parts of Europe. Listen to this interview with Mark Steyn. (The relevant part is at minute 24.)
Mark Steyn, author of America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It. In his book, Steyn argues that the world will be divided between America and the rest; and for our sake America had better win.
"What I fear most is that, when we look back in 25 years' time at this moment, what we will have seen is the surrender of the West, without a shot being fired. They'll say that in the name of tolerance and acceptance, we tied our own hands and slit our own throats."-Salman Rushdie
Weefee, think carefully abut that Salman Rusdie quote.

Yeah but there is a case just now where a Muslim teaching assistant has been suspended for wearing the veil, in Britain. She refused to remove it in front of male colleagues so was sent home.
The point is we can argue over these sort of stupid stories which will always be tit for tat, because for every wrong against one race/religion/gender there is one for the other.
I could tell you the one about the catholic footballer being prosecuted for blessing himself as he may offend people! But it ain't the muslims that would complain it's the Protestants!!!!
No matter what these stories show, it is not government law, so we are not falling under Sharia, we still have loads of catholic schools despite us trying to get rid of them and introduce shared campuses so that catholics and protestants can mix and stop battering the hell out of each other, in Scotland. The catholic church holds out against shared campus schools, it has grudgingly allowed a few, although there must be seperate toilets and entrances??
If the Catholic church can hold out against that then why would it fall under Sharia law? The people here also don't enjoy being told what to do, can you imagine a scotsman not being allowed to drink alcohol??? They would never let it happen, Braveheart would be reinacted in an instant. If the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher, never broke them with the introduction of poll Tax, there was huge protests, violence, refusal to pay, then I doubt an Islamic fundamentalist would.

"Yeah but there is a case just now where a Muslim teaching assistant has been suspended for wearing the veil, in Britain. She refused to remove it in front of male colleagues so was sent home."-Weefee.
Good. She lives in the WESTERN nation of Britain. Veils are sexist oppressors of women. They should be banned along with the entire religion of Islam. Women are EQUAL.
Weefee, you have a lot of catch-up learning to do. But, I'm glad your paying attention. Here's a start-
The Fall of France and the Multicultural World War
...Muslim blogs are calling for violence against the Jews, the whites and the well-to-do. They say, “We must burn France, as Hamas will burn Israel.” The growth of the Islamic population is explosive. According to some, one out of three babies born in France is now a Muslim. Around 70% of French prisoners are Muslims. Hundreds of Muslim ghettos are already de facto following sharia, not French law. Some have pointed out that the French military are not always squeamish, but there are estimates that 15% of the armed forces are already made up of Muslims, and rising. How effective can the army then be in upholding the French republic? At the same time, opinion polls show that the French are now officially the most anti-capitalist nation on earth. France has chosen Socialism and Islam. It will get both, and sink into a quagmire of its own making. Some believe France will quietly become a Muslim country, others believe in civil war in the near future.

One more for the night...
The French-Muslim Connection by Thomas D. Segel (May 4, 2004)
There are more than one billion Muslims in the world.[..] The remainder is spread through 100 countries, including an estimated 5 million Muslims in France. Though the figure 5 million may not seem large when viewed next to the populations of countries such as Indonesia, it still represents almost twenty percent of the people in France. What it has done to this western nation is negatively impact it so severely that it may soon lose its European identity. In fact, if the birth rate continues as projected, France will have a Muslim majority in less than 25 years.
According to the international Limits To Growth Organization writer Brenda Walker, "France should be seen as a cautionary tale of immigration run amok, and how quickly things can get out of control. Muslim immigration to France is a post-war phenomenon for the most part. Just a few decades of high immigration of a group with high fertility has put France in the unenviable position of being the European nation thought most likely to be the first to introduce sharia (Islamic) law.
The constant appeasement attitude of officials has also been seen to embolden the Muslim population into making strong demands on the country. As they grow in numbers most French Muslims feel they can impose the will of Islam on the entire country. There is also the threat of violence, which is always a concern by French leaders. They have already seen an increase in crime and violence against women among the Arab immigrants.
[..] By 2002 France was experiencing 12 anti-Semitic incidents daily. The Muslim population had grown 10 times larger than the country's Jewish community and by sheer numbers had placed themselves in a position where anti-Semitism seemed to no longer be a concern of those in government. Today French Muslims outnumber all non-Catholic ethnic and religious factions in the country combined, including Protestants and Jews.
Also frightening to the French government is the lack of assimilation into national identity by these immigrants. Decades of immigration have produced a large class of young men who claim Islam, not France, as their identity and consider crime as an acceptable life style.[..]More than 23,000 French prison inmates are Muslim, this is more than six times the proportion of Muslims to the overall French population.
[..]From Marseille to Paris synagogues have been destroyed, Jewish men, women and children have been attacked, and schools and school buses of Jews have been stoned. Even with the strong anti-Semitic violence so openly displayed, few officials speak out and fewer members of the media report the incidents.
With all of this as a background Al Qaeda is rapidly recruiting new members. In France the terrorist organization, according to best estimates, has created military style units of between 35 and 45 thousand men.

Well, she should have been allowed to wear it, but what is so unbelievable about minorities being allowed to wear turbans etc?
This is not anything new under International Human Rights law people are allowed to practice their religion without fear of persecution, this should cover all religions and is it not written into the US constitution?
It still doesn't prove that we are under Sharia law, why are our soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan if we are so cowed by fundamentalists?
Another thing about the Muslim school including headsscarves as uniform, they may be required by law to take pupils of other faiths, at least they are because the catholic church is refusing to allow other faiths into their schools.
I liked the Rushdie article, it is true there has to be a line that shouldn't be crossed but I really don't think we are any where near it. If we were why has 24 hour licences for bars and pubs been introduced, kinda goes aginst Islam, the whole alcohol is evil thing doesn't it, why has a muslim classroom assistant been suspended for refusing to take her veil off in front of male colleagues? More importantly why are our soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? I liked the article from the Independant because it is one of the few that you will be able to use, you see The Independant is one of the most Anti-war papers in the UK, it is also I would say liberal, although it is the only paper not to back any of the political parties in the UK.
There have been no laws passed by government that are sharia like so how can we be moving towards it? In fact teh courts have ruled against things like allowing a girl to wear hijab at school.
It just isn't going to happen, if it (very unlikely) does when I'm stoned to death you have the right to say I told you so.

Most religions are male centred look at christianity, fair enough it is oppressive to some but what if you want to wear a headscarf, what if you feel uncomfortable when men make comments about you? Shouldn't you have the choice? Being a woman, don't think I take an anti-woman stance I am not, I am very pro equal rights for woman, although there is still a long way to go for that, we still often get paid less or not promoted :( I just think everyone has the right to their own choice.
I still think the religious school thing is invalid, I don't approve of catholic schools making pupils take mass yet they still haven't been shut down. If I had my way all religion would be taken out of schools, like in France, they divide and create problems. When the police have to be there to stop "non-denominational" and catholic schools fighting you know there is a problem. Here’s some stuff I found on BBC online, which by law has to be fair and balanced, so can not take one side or the other.
The first blow to the anti-ban campaign came in August last year - ironically at the hand of militants who abducted two French reporters in Iraq, demanding the law should be withdrawn.
Protests died down, as French Muslims refused to be associated with the hostage-takers.
But the key to the ban's success has been its enduring popularity. All political parties endorsed it.
And a recent Pew think-tank survey indicated that secularist France was the country where restrictions on religion symbols had the strongest support - a full 75% backed the school ban.
France's Muslim ghettos, in short, are not hotbeds of separatism. Neither do they represent a clear challenge to secularism - a doctrine all national Muslim groups profess to support.
"We have no problem with secularism," says Lhaj Thami Breze, president of the Union of Islamic Organisations of France (UOIF).
He argues that by establishing state neutrality in religious matters, the doctrine allows all religions to blossom.
Islam has adapted to local laws - from Indonesia to Senegal - and is adapting to France, says Azzedine Gaci, who heads the regional Muslim council in Lyon.
This is not just the leaders' view. A 2004 poll suggested that 68% of French Muslims regarded the separation of religion and state as "important", and 93% felt the same about republican values.
Suspicious minds
All observers agree that jihadism does pose a direct threat to the country.
The fact that - in France as elsewhere - the militants speak for a tiny minority of Muslims does not make the threat less severe.
But as Islam expert Olivier Roy notes, bombers should not be seen as the vanguard of the Muslim people. Jihadis everywhere, he says, are rebelling both against the West and their own communities.
The great majority of Muslims resent the extremists in their midst - although many in France do not recognise this.
www.bbc.co.uk
I still feel there is nothing to have a panic attack over, France has a large Muslim population, but if they can sort out the unemployment rates and poverty then maybe things will get better. Europe has survived this long so I think we will survive for a long time yet.

Oh another thing I said I agreed that it was an over reaction to arrest the girl for refusing to study with non-english speaking students, and I am definetly against sexism being a woman. I am however pro choice so if I want to wear a veil I can, if Choose not to I don't have to. If i choose to convert to Islam or Buddhism I can. It's just nothing to do with the rest of the population as long as I am not forcing my beliefs on people.

conservative friend.

A Radical Islamic Enclave in London
LGF, "For the 2012 Olympics in the UK, a gigantic new mosque complex is planned in London—and the main promoter of the project is a Pakistani Islamic supremacist group, the Tablighi Jamaat:"
"The Shadow Cast by a Mega-Mosque"
Telegraph: When Abu Izzadeen, the firebrand Islamist militant, berated John Reid last week for “daring” to visit a Muslim area, the Home Secretary bridled, as did many others, at his suggestion that part of London was off limits for a British minister of the Crown.
There was nowhere in this country from which anyone should be excluded, Mr Reid said; nowhere that could be called exclusively Muslim. He was speaking just a couple of Tube stops from West Ham, close to the site for the 2012 Olympic stadium, where a huge row is about to erupt over plans to construct a mosque. However, this is not any old mosque built to serve the local community. It will be the largest place of worship in Europe, a gigantic three-storey Islamic centre, with schools and other facilities, able to hold at least 40,000 worshippers and up to 70,000 if necessary.
It will be called the London Markaz and it is intended to be a significant Islamic landmark whose prominence and stature will be enhanced by its proximity to the Olympic site. When television viewers around the world see aerial views of the stadium during the opening ceremony in six years’ time, the most prominent religious building in the camera shot will not be one of the city’s iconic churches that have shaped the nation’s history, such as St Paul’s Cathedral or Westminster Abbey, but the mega-mosque. ...
The first mosque was opened in Britain more than 80 years ago and there are now well over 1,000 – many converted from Anglican churches. London now has more mosques than any other western city. The biggest in western Europe is just a couple of miles from where I live in south London, on a five-acre site. It can hold up to 5,000 worshippers and, while hardly a Timurid masterpiece, its dome and minarets do not detract from what is a rather gloomy bit of suburban Surrey. Funded entirely by voluntary donations from its congregation, it was erected by the Ahmadi Muslims, who also contructed the first London mosque in Putney in 1924. The Ahmadis, who have lived harmoniously in this country for many years, condemn any form of extremism. Tellingly, perhaps, the Ahmadis are considered heretics by the rest of the Islamic world.
Now consider the east London mosque. Its backers are the Tablighi Jamaat, a missionary organisation that says it is non-political and peaceful. Yet a senior FBI anti-terrorism official has called it a recruiting ground for al-Qa’eda, and the French secret services described it as “an antechamber for fundamentalism”. Its current European headquarters are in Dewsbury, home town of Mohammed Siddique Khan, leader of the July 7 suicide bombers, who attended the local mosque. Much of the funding for the Markaz, which will cost about £100 million, is expected to come from Saudi Arabia. ...
It is suggested that the Markaz complex will become the “Muslim quarter” for the Olympics, acting as a hub for Islamic competitors and spectators, something that is surely contrary to the spirit of the Games, which are meant to bring people together, not keep them apart. Futhermore, in an irony not lost on Mr Craig, just a mile or so from where the mosque is due to go up, the Kingsway International Christian Centre, the biggest evangelical church in Europe with 12,000 worshippers on a Sunday, is coming down to make way for the Olympic stadium.

Weefee,
London isn't called "Londonistan" for nothing.
Weefee said, "This is not anything new under International Human Rights law people are allowed to practice their religion without fear of persecution, this should cover all religions and is it not written into the US constitution?"
Islam allows Muslim men to beat their wives. (Qur'an 4:34). Is this covered by the International Human Rights laws?
Islam isn't just a religion. Islam is a total way of life-meaning that Islam is simultaneously a religion, a political system (Islamic theocracy under Shari'a law where the imam is the political leader), a cultural system (veils, turbans, etc.), an economic system, and a social system. Islam violates the U.S. Constitution. For instance, the U.S. Constitution establishes a democratic republican form of government. Islam demands an Islamic theocracy under Shari'a law. Another violation of the U.S. Constitution is Islam's violation of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution-freedom of speech. Islam prohibits freedom of speech. Islam prohibits criticism of Islam. That's called "blasphemy". The penalty for blasphemy is DEATH. Still another violation of the U.S. Constitution is Islam's violation of the 1st Amendment's guarantee of freedom of religion. Islam prohibits freedom of religion. The penalty for a Muslim who gives up Islam is DEATH. Islam also violates the U.S. Constitution's prohibition against "cruel and unusual punishments". Islam's Shari'a law is rife with cruel and unusual punishments-ie. stoning, flogging, death for blasphemy, death for apostasy, amputation of a hand for theft, etc. I could go on but you get the picture. The American government just needs to recognize Islam's violations of our Constitution and enforce our U.S. Constitutional laws. In other words, Islam outlaws itself.
"It still doesn't prove that we are under Sharia law..."-Weefee
I didn't say you are under Shari'a. I said some parts of Europe are under de-facto Sharia law. Europe is moving towards Shari'a law faster and faster every day.

Here are 3 different English translations of Qur'an 4:34-
Qur'an 4:34
YUSUFALI: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).
PICKTHAL: Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.
SHAKIR: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.

There is a large population of Muslims in London I agree, in Britain there are 1.8 million Muslims of which 1 Million live in London. However this can not be considered abnormal because throughout history area of London have been dominated by large groups of people - the Scots, the Jews it is a city of immigrants that's where most people who settle down stay at least for a while. Muslims only make up 3% of the population of Britain.
Just because the Koran states that does not mean that every Muslim does it. As I have said before I have many Muslim friends, some female, some male, some religious, some not. You CAN NOT define a majority by a minority. For example one of my male Muslim friends is very religious, he is just back from Mecca, yet not once has he ever told me my views are wrong, that I should cover up or anything like that. One of my friends, who is also his friend, had a baby outside of marriage yet he has never once criticised her and has supported her all the way. My female friends some wear headscarfs some don't. The ones who do are very independent, there family has no control over them so it is their free choice.
As for the death penalty, fair enough for blasphemy etc is extremly unfair and strict and I do not believe that it is right, but no one in a country that has the death penalty has the right to criticse another. The electric chair is not exactly a nice death is it? I have heard complaints about lethal injection apparently vets don't even use the drugs involved on animals coz it paralyses them and is considered cruel.etc.
You can not ban a religion I hate to tell you, this is where fundamentalists of all religions go wrong, you can make it illegal you can punish people for it, but it doesn't mean people will believe any less.
You may believe we are moving towards sharia law, although personally I think someone has been watching to much Fox News, but you forget one thing. National Pride, it is the biggest motivator for anything. That is what kept men fighting in the trenches of the Great War, the Boar war, the Krimean war, WW 2, The wars of Independence( Scottish and I suppose American) etc. It also sustained the British and of course the German Population through years of bombing, food and clothing shortages, blackouts, women in munitions factories being poisened by the chemicals they were using. The people of these countries have sacrificed so much over the hundreds of years it took to make Europe into what it is today and they WILL NOT let that be taken away from them by anyone. We are too proud for that.

You are correct. That's why you have to outlaw Islam and then deport those Muslims who refuse to give up Islam.

Freedom 1,
Your posts on France are just brilliant. I am one
who agrees with you 100% plus. I can see the changes in France over the years. It happened to be one of my very favorite places to travel to in the past, but I have not done so lately, and think
I shall not in the near future. It was equally disturbing to me, that the French authorities just
seemed to sit by idly by, and "watch their cities
be ravaged by thugs, as they seemed to have no control over this rioting"....THIS, in my way of thinking, "gave carte blanche to these radicals,
to do bigger and better things in the future". Kind of reminds me of the way the inept Clintons
treated terrorism, in a police matter, and rather lightly at that, and look what happened on our own soil---9/ll...the "bigger and better bang, by these Islamofascists run amouck". If a society cannot control the radical element that threatens
it's very existence, then it is "in trouble, bigtime". Again, wonderful posts Freedom, and so right on the money. Our country needs to heed
this for sure, with all the "political correctness
that gives rise to the thoughts of radicals, that
nothing will happen to them, so what do they have to lose by riots, etc." Remember Reagan's words:
Peace Through Strength

Hmmm, I wonder what the variable could be....
seen that satellite shot of the korean pennsula taken at nite? the one where south korea is all lite-up & north korea looks like a black hole?
what the F*** are sanctions gonna do to a black hole?
meanwhile, we got the most lethal assult force in world history tied-up half way around the world policing feudal tribes who've been killing each other for TWO THOUSAND YEARS or so.
Sanctions are supremely effective against these guys. The tighter the better.
Yeah, OhioOrrin, you've been posting here at least as long as I have, and I always figured you for a reasonably intelligent person. I'm surprised you don't get this.
BTW, Jo, the lid is about to blow off Reid's sleezy deals. Looks like, when Reid was pointing his finger at the GOP "culture of corruption", his other three fingers were pointing back at him, heh.
BEYOND delusional...
Well, it looks like my link to The Strata Sphere above is not working. I suspect the mention of his post on the Reid land deals during the opening segment of Rush Limbaugh's show probably crashed AJ's server. It'll be interesting to see if the MSM continues to ignore the Reid scandal.
A MUST SEE by all.
South Park takes down the left nutjobs with the 9/11 conspiracy. Click here.
Just got this e-mail from a conservative friend.
Georgia Muslim Pleads Guilty to Supporting Hamas
ATLANTA (Reuters) - A U.S. citizen has pleaded guilty in a federal court to providing material support to the militant Palestinian group Hamas, the U.S. Justice Department said on Friday.
Mohamed Shorbagi, 42, of Rome, Georgia, was charged in August with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Happy Friday the 13th to you too, Gozer!:)
(I have to cross the path of a black cat now, so wish me luck!)
:)
weefee, if even remotely accurate, isn't the article a sign of atleast an over reaction by the teacher?

Okay now that's just wierd.
Gozer,
To a degree.
Sad. Really sad.
Gozer,
Whether it's poor IT management, deliberate screening, or malicious, if it's just conservative blogs being blocked it's wrong.
(But I do like your final explanation!)
:)

UNBELIEVABLE!
Weefee said, "I hardly think that signifys the death rattles of Britain, the same thing would have happend if she said it about a Jew, a black person, a chinese person a christian whatever."

I still feel there is nothing to have a panic attack over, France has a large Muslim population, but if they can sort out the unemployment rates and poverty then maybe things will get better. Europe has survived this long so I think we will survive for a long time yet.

Sorry I keep posting things twice, my Computer is rubbish.
"You can not ban a religion I hate to tell you, this is where fundamentalists of all religions go wrong, you can make it illegal you can punish people for it, but it doesn't mean people will believe any less."- by: Weefee
