Another Woodward Claim Challenged

From Real Clear Politics, Brent Scowcroft informs us that quotes attributed to him in Woodward's book were never made by him.

Shocking...simply shocking /sarcasm off

It's interesting to note that he doesn't refute what President George H.W. Bush had said to Scowcroft. He's only saying that it didn't come from him. Leaving the possibilities that it came from one of the Bushies.
"I told Brent that..." or "Pops told Brent that..."

yes, Willie, the statement does NOT cover every possible aspect. It does not deny that little green space men eavesdropped on a line he was feeding a showgirl in Vegas about how close he and the Pres are.

Scowcroft was cited as a source in the book, by name and by reference. He denies being that source. Period.

People like you make it more and more clear that the first step on the downward spiral of radical liberalism is to simply abandon dignity and embrace a gleeful willingness/eagerness to be blatantly silly and goofy at every opportunity. For some, that initiation is clearly a slam-dunk.

But at least you didn't claim the Woodward book was "fake---but accurate". That level of stupidity seems to have run its course.

Well it's not surprising that Woodward is doing his part by playing, "Rathergate right before an election" Why should any of this be a surprise to anyone that knows how the leftie liberals work?

Posted by: Jo at October 6, 2006 12:48 AM

So was Woodward a "leftie liberal" when he wrote his first two books about Bush? Remember the two that Bush and co said were recommended reading? Was the so-called "MSM" hacks for the left when they jumped on the Clinton BJ scandal with both feet or when they sat on their hands and allowed Bush to lie us into Iraq without even the slightest challenge that he could have his facts wrong?

You can't have it both ways.
