It is to be hoped that some of the spirit of Vimy Ridge still lives in Canada...at least enough to prevent Canadians from volunteering to be slaves in their own household.

Well we had a pretty good turn out on Parliment Hill in Ottawa for a show of support for the Canadians in Afghanistan.

But I can see some PC types wanting to copy the British in getting permission for raids. The NDP would consider that a good idea. I hope I am wrong.

I doubt that I'll be around to see that happen (I'd be 105), but I seriously doubt that it's going to take that long.

A dead Europe is the least of our worries, its how to stop this sort of thing from happening here. They are already hard at work at implementing it here as we speak you know.

I need to get back to England to see how bad it's gotten--I left there in 1991 and it wasn't bad then. I've heard it's really bad in places. I also read somewhere that a couple of years ago, Muhammad was the #1 name for male babies in England. Anyone ever heard this one?

I would think that you'd be more worried about the fact that the Blair government is about to be kicked out of power - primarily by the anti-Bush crowd.

As for the panel, did the article say that the muslims would have veto power over raids, or whether they were just able to offer an opinion and some public relations advice?

As an expatriate Scot who left the UK in 1964, and who lived in England from 1966-1974, then came back to the US in 1975, and became a citizen in 1979...I can tell you categorically that the UK as we remember it, "Land of Hope and Glory" died 30 years ago...long before the Muslims arrived. The UK has systematically embraced socialism, labor policies, the welfare state...it's not the UK I grew up in as a child, where my family was poor, my dad was a drunk, and my mother went out to work and raise 6 children and never asked the government for a dime. She was too proud to do that. She raised all 6 of her kids to "fend for themselves", pushed us to excell in education and start businesses. All six of her children are successful and have never lived off government largesse whether in Scotland or the US. I visit the UK every two years or so and I am ashamed of my former country. Scotland and England(as well as Ireland and Wales) have turned into a Socialist/Welfare state, where the majority of people are looking to be taken care of and where PC seems to be the name of the game. My family, who still reside in Scotland, are ashamed and embarassed by what the British government, AKA, the Labor Party have done in their name.

There is a new book out called "Londinistan". It warns about just this very thing.

I don't think it will take that long, either. It's already happening here in America, for example-Dearbornistan, Michigan.

This makes as much sense to me as when in the Army, they gave us weeks notice of an IG Inspection, to "test" our combat readiness.

I never did figure out how a spit shined razor and field gear laid out under certain specifications showed combat readiness.

What next, asking suspects politely at their door if you may please come in, pretty please?

I think the problem would eventually resolve itself in stunted investigations in to criminals actions among Britain's Moslem community - why start an investigation, after all, if you're going to have some PC group breathing down your neck?

Essentially, as I see it, the Moslem communities of Britain will no longer be covered by British law - having no recourse to the courts (because the police won't bother to investigate), Moslems will turn to their own - and thus Sharia will come to Britain, likely to be eventually enshrined officially when some court decision recognises the jurisdiction of a Sharia court.

Mark, when you say "dead Europe," do you mean a radioactively dead Europe, or just a spriritually dead Europe, taken over by the Muslims?
Either way, I hope I don't live to see that come to pass, especially in 2050. I WILL NOT SUBMIT.
