What scares me, is if someone decides that this is actually a good idea based on what the film shows the outcome to be. Given where the film will be shown, you can guess the premise is that with the removal of Bush things get better, atleast for the liberals.

You are absolutely right. This is very poor in taste and shows the depths of what people will go to in expressing their opinion. BUT, it doesn't surprise me. Anytime you have a God fearing Jesus loving person in a position of authority, he or she will be attacked in every manner possible to dillute their influence and effectiveness. Such is what is happening to this President and will continue to happen as long as he is in office. If the attacks ever stop coming, THAT is when we need to check in and see what he is up to. This movie is just one more in an endless stream of anti-Bush political nonsense.

Talk about knee-jerk reactions. Perhaps withhold judgment until you or like-minded people see this film... I have a feeling you might be surprised at the content and viewpoint of the film.

i just heard about this "docudrama" this morning and i am so sick!!
the production company is BOROUGH FILMS--
email: info@boroughfilms.com
address: Dufours Place, London W1F 7SP, United Kingdom
phone: (44-207) 287-5661
the writer and director is GABRIEL RANGE
and PETER DALE is the head of More4, the station airing the "film" on October 9th.
i'm sure they LOVE the controversy as it will be good for their names, wallets, etc. but i still think everyone who has a conscience and some type of moral fiber should write letters, emails, and make phone calls expressing their outrage about this perverse and shameful piece of political "art."
if our allies in canada could help out, that would be great. i'd also like to send letters of discontent to the government officials in canada and the u.s. just to see if they can at least call it a shameful idea...just a thought!

Hmm... I'll reserve judgement for now. Though I will comment that I have never liked the "Docu-drama" catagory of films because too mnay folks think they're more documentary then drama when the opposite is normally true.

I have a feeling you'll be wrong, as usual, Tammy, but I'll withhold judgement.
Screw that--the people who are involved in the making of this film should be rounded up and sent to Git'mo until this film is shown. These kooks need to be taught a lesson for disrespecting my president. And Tom Shipley should be sent to Git'mo with them--they can all play checkers and bow to Mecca five times a day...

I am a liberal. You couldn't be further from the truth about my views on Bush.
I do not want a hair on his head harmed. I want him impeached and tried for war crimes and treason. When he is convicted (which I believe he would be) and sentenced to death by hanging (which is the federal form of execution).
I want Mr. Bush to know exactly what is happening to him when he is frog marched up the steps of the gallows whimpering all the way like the coward he is.
I am opposed to the death penalty - except for those who support the death penalty and I do not advocate violence or assassination - unlike Mr. Bush, who has been funding oppostion groups in Venezuela in the hope of overthrowing Hugo Chavez.

It's also nice to know you have a grasp of reality and the facts that is sooooooooooo far from reality that it must be the drugs you use.
In your view, Bush is worse than Hitler. Chavez is a liberator and saint Right?

Strange, radioleft is merely expressing an honest view and you insult it....very strange.
wawilliyo, yes, if you watched anything other than fox "news" you would see chavez is a liberator,he has saved his people from capitalism which has failed his people like nothing else. But given the threat he and the rest of south america poses to the north you will never admit the truth (like how in the polls he is expected to be elected with 70%...yes thats 70%).
As for my opinion on this film, it sounds sick, but under the concept of free speech the producers have every right to make it as long as they do not harm anyone (if someone sees it and then decides to hurt someone the producers are not at fault).

RadioLeft - Since you've mentioned Mr. Chavez, let me give you my opinion of him. Chavez is precisely what your side accuses Bush of being - a crony of the oil industry who does not tolerate dissent. In fact, in his country, it's ILLEGAL to criticize him.
Treason? I think that's defined as adhering to our enemies, giving them aid and comfort. That definition is hardly met by depriving them of their training camps in Afghanistan, having our troops kill 45,000 of them in Iraq, or locking up the cells they created in Miami or Lackawanna, NY.
War Crimes? Yes, some of our troops did some dispicable things, but guess what, they were PUNISHED for them and rightly so, and under the command of Bush.
Keefer - I hope you're being sarcastic about sending anyone to Gitmo. Like it or not, it's no crime to disrespect the president. Some of us righties certainly disrespected Clinton, although nothing like this "docudrama". Of course, it would be a good idea to give some lefties a TOUR of Gitmo, which may go down in history as the only wartime detention camp in which the only detainee deaths were self-inflicted, and in which some detainees gained weight. Too bad we can't show anyone the real GULAG, which is the rest of Cuba.

The hanging part may be a little harsh. But impeachment and war crimes are certainly reasonable, and if the Dems win in November, I wouldn't expect anything less. King George certainly has commited many, many impeachable offenses, and 50,000+ killed in Iraq, at his doing, in an illegal, immoral invasion, equals war crimes in my book.
If this fool was president of any other country --- a dangerous ignoramus who claims to be doing the work of his god --- then the warmongers on this site would be calling for pre-emptive attacks left & right. But the King is a Christofascist, not an Islamo, and so the thousands & thousands of deaths he orders do not affect or concern them in the least.

First, I didn't defend Chavez. I simply pointed out that it is illegal to secretly finance those trying to overthrow a foreign government. I also object to a foreign power, secretly or by military attack, overthrowing our government. Were that to happen I'd do what I could to keep our government in place and Bush in office.
As for "treason", sending the country to war on a lie and for the financial benefit of one's cronies is an action against the state. If Bush, Cheney, and their buddies ever come to trial on such charges, we'll see whether a jury finds them guilty.
In fact, bribery is specifically mentioned in the constitution. Don't you think that putting seven unqualified cronies in charge of FEMA instead of qualified professionals might be bribery or at least an action against the state? Again, we'll have to wait for the trial - if it ever occurs.
As for the death penalty - I am not opposed to it on moral grounds. I am opposed to it becaue it is more about revenge than deterent, it would be cheaper to incarcerate convicted felons for life, and occasionally innocent people are executed (I suppose this last one is a moral argument). But, those who overlook the problems inherent in the death penalty and support it should be subject to it if they commit a capital offense and are justly tried and convicted. After all, wouldn't it be hypocritical to support the death penalty and then oppose its application to you if you were convicted of a capital crime?
I love the way my words were distorted into claim I didn't make. Just because you think Bush is worse than Hitler, wawilliyo, doesn't mean that I think that.
wawilliyo, you have learned from Bush, Cheney, and Rove how to use name-calling, ridicule and distortion to distract from the discussion at hand. That tactic has been overused and has lost its effectiveness. You might want to try something new.
Here's something I'm curious about: Did any of you object to Gordon Liddy using pictures of Bill and Hillary Clinton for target practice when Clinton was president? How about Anne coulter? Have any of you obkected to her advocating the rat-poisoning of a supreme court justice, fragging a congressman, assassinating a senator, or assassinating Bill Clinton instead of impeaching him?
I thought not.
P. S. I haven't seen the movie and have no opinion of it. I am simply responding to the comments here.

Interestingly, terrorists can't be fascists since Bush keeps saying that they are independent operators and not state sponsored. The definition of fascism involves government takeover by corporate interests. So, Bush could be a fascist in the sense that he is working for the corporate takeover of our government. But, I'm not sure if Christianity (or Islam) qualifies.
I prefer to use the term "corporate imperialism" because it is more descriptive and doesn't carry the emotional load of fascim. Of course, when the Bushies use the term fascism to refer to terrorists, they are attempting to resurrect irrational fear so that we will blindly vote for Republicans instead of thinking through our approach to terrorism.
I will also point out that all of the successes in fighting terrorism have been the result of international cooperation, police work, and intelligence - not the invasion of other countries and the overthrow of their governments.

I love how everyone assumes the reactions of others. On both sides here.
I judge what I see presented here and try my best not to attack those making the comments. I'll call the comments idiot, try to get folks to back up their beliefs, and push folks a bit but just stupidly attack? No more then the occasional jab.
Honestly I don't think anyone will ever see Bush in court. On the one hand if the conspiracy folks are correct and this was all a major push by Bush and the vast right wing conspiracy there's no way they'd let their guy go down. If, on the other hand things have gone down as many of us on B4B have said over and over again then as the information came out more and more folks will look silly in the procedings and hence will pull out of supporting it before it can even start.
Any way I doubt it'll happen, and if it does nothing will come of it, just like how nothing came of Clinton.
I agree that keeping people imprissoned for life is cheaper, because we treat death row and all criminals in general too well. Jail is not a punishment or a deterent to too many, why would the death penalty be? Now if we actually had swift justice or the wait wasn't pleasant in the least I'm sure you'd see crime rates go down even more.
I do believe they have been dropping with that Sheriff in Arizona that has been really strict with the prisons. (He keeps getting re-elected at least)

You have every right to speak your mind, even though I'm sure TONS of people would wish you'd leave.
I was speaking personally to you. I do believe you are not well informed, stupid to be blunt.
You clearly don't have a grasp of what WORDS actually mean, and you DEFINITELY don't have a grasp of those words as they apply to the legal environment.
You think throwing words around like treason, bribery, et al around like you accuse me of name-calling.
Learn what those mean in a legal setting AND what they mean in the Constitution. You throw accusations around like people throw ones around at a strip club.
It's also narrowminded to think that the ONLY way we've stopped terrorism is by law enforcement and "cooperation." Apparently killing terrorists doesn't STOP them in your view. But then again, I refer you to my opinion of your intelligence above.
Even your position on the death penalty is full of stupidity. Either you're in favor of it or not. You can't JUST be in favor of it for people who are in favor of it. Guess what... that means you'd be put to death.
And like you castigate Ann Coulter for saying things that cause people to think and actually have emotion, here's hoping you don't commit a crime that would warrant the death penalty, cause I certainly hope they throw the book at you.
You may say I'm not elevating debate, but you make accusations and statements that have no merit and no basies in EVEN reality and when you're called out on it, you question someone else... RICH. Go back to the DailyKos where you crawled out from.

1. Please provide your proof for this allegation (not that I am at all opposed to the idea that we are working on it). I am just curious that if its secret how do you know about it?
2. By extension your reasoning also applies to those who finance the overthrow of the current administration, such as George Soros, Moveon.org and other leftist groups.

gozer: I agree with you that Bush will likely never see the inside of a courtroom. There is a remote possiblity of an impeachment if the Democrats manage a majority in the House and Senate.
Interestingly, founders intended "High Crimes" in the constitution to mean treason, but the Republicans decided that perjury in a civil law suit unrelated to government or governance qualified. So, I find it interesting that the response to my claim that Bush has committed treason and war-crimes is that I don't know the definition of "treason".
phnxbmed: Actually, the activities of moveon, etc. are all done in public, the persons behind them known, and they are advocating actions at the ballot box rather than overthrow of the government. Their activities are completely legal. It is the secret funding of groups in a foreign country for the purpose of over throwing the government that is illegal.
I am sorry that you have not seen the news reports this week about Bush funding groups in Venezuela to overthrow Chavez. But, the fact that you are uninformed in no way obligates me to educate you. Do the research yourself. Same goes for the definition of fascism.
I suggest that you provide an example of success in fighting terrorism achieved by Bush using military means rather than calling me narrow-minded.

You are correct that logically I support the death penalty by my formulation.
I take that position for political effect in the same way that I support making all abortions illegal including in the cases of rape, incest, or the health of the mother - But, only if women of childbearing age are given pregnancy tests before leaving the U. S. and if they are pregnant, return to the U. S. no longer pregnant, and without a baby, they are arrested for murder.
Please don't forget that George Bush, who lived a drunken life of irresponsibility until (what was his age?) approximately age 40 by his own admission, supports the death penalty for 16 year olds and trying 14 year olds as adults. That seems hypocritical and mean-spirited to me.
I also support reinstatement of the draft with no exemptions except unfitness to serve (you know - like boils on your butt). This is a political formulation, as well, since I believe that if the children of the ultra-wealthy and corporate leaders children were drafted and sent to war, we would be much more careful about where we used our military and Bush would not have invaded Iraq.

I just find a little ironic when people use the old "freedom of speech" argument to justify situations like these.
It's just a shame Cubans can't do a docu-drama depicting the ficitcious murder of Fidel Castro on Cuban soil for obvious reasons, for example.
Regardless, try to have, at the very least, some(if barely noticable) respect for the President.
The sad part is that when some Cubans in Miami staged President's Castro's funeral, every single supporter of Castro wasn't looked down, had every right to be upset and even say it on TV.
Americans, however, are not human beings, so every single angry remark or right to protest about this docu-drama doesn't count.

It constantly amazes me how humorless the left is. Ann Coulter's comments are essentially a parody of what their leaders are saying every day. It's perfectly "normal" and "reasoned" when they do it but when one of our side makes fun of them by illustrating how absurd they are we're spewing hate.

So some moron make a movie about Dubya being killed and he represents all liberals....yea right. In that case the head of the KKK represents all yall on the right-wing....yea right. I may see a smart post from you tonight..but I am blue already so I will not hold my breath.

I have a feeling you might be surprised at the content and viewpoint of the film.
Wow, I haven't heard such a hard core left view in a while. Good to see a new voice. :)
Radioleft:
Thanks for just proving my point that people "like you" are nothing but hypocrits. You have no "values" or positions besides hating Bush.
It's also nice to know you have a grasp of reality and the facts that is sooooooooooo far from reality that it must be the drugs you use.
In your view, Bush is worse than Hitler. Chavez is a liberator and saint Right?
HOW F*CKED IN THE HEAD ARE YOU!!!?!?!?!?!
Yes - honesty from a liberal. Wow. Don't live near that National Guard base in Washington do you Radio?
I wonder how many films depicted Clinton getting killed. Or Carter.
Hmmm...yes I wonder.
The tolerant loving left.
I am opposed to the death penalty - except for those who support the death penalty...
Flip-flop redux. Who are you, Spitball Kerry? Go back to your kook blog, kook...
I want him impeached and tried for war crimes and treason. When he is convicted (which I believe he would be) and sentenced to death by hanging
I want him impeached and tried for war crimes and treason. When he is convicted (which I believe he would be) and sentenced to death by hanging.
OH......MY........GOSH!!!!!! You guys truly are insane! So tell me, you can't even get Scooter Libby indicted much less the president of the United States, what makes you so sure(evidence please, not polls) you can get the pres. tried for crimes? Well unless you are ready to hand the U.S. sovriegnty over to the U.N. Are you guys ready to do that? YES? I thought so, traitors. Ahhhhhhhhh, if only the MSM would aid us in producing the REAL 21st century liberals to the world(pipe dreams)!!!
Thank you Radioleft for proving once again how two-faced and cowardly the left is these days! By the way, you couldn't be further from the truth when you call G.B. a coward! It would suprise me very little if I was to watch him tar & feather you and your buddies one chicken at a time! Bwahahaaahahahaaaaahahaaaaa! I'd pay to see that!

I am simply responding to the comments here.
maf53:
Radio:
I'd also find this movie despicable if they showed ANY real president, dead or alive (if it wasn't a reactment of actual history) being assassinated.
This is irresponsible and inappropriate.
How about a movie where we crash a 747 full of dynamite into the Democratic convention? Just for the sake of argument of course.
"First, I didn't defend Chavez. I simply pointed out that it is illegal to secretly finance those trying to overthrow a foreign government." Radioleftists
"Interestingly, terrorists can't be fascists since Bush keeps saying that they are independent operators and not state sponsored."
Please provide the link.
"The definition of fascism involves government takeover by corporate interests."
Please provide your compete definition as this is laughable.
"I will also point out that all of the successes in fighting terrorism have been the result of international cooperation, police work, and intelligence - not the invasion of other countries and the overthrow of their governments."
So I guess your answer to 9/11 would have been to send the Keystone Kops to Afganistan right?
If the movie was about Clinton being assassinated by Bin Laden in 1998... they'd be up in ARMS!!!
To not object to this based on how inappropriate is to make a movie about killing a REAL LIVING HUMAN BEING is just horrible.
I wish far left wing wackos like radio left hated the terrorists just 10% the amount they hate President Bush.
To create a story which contains the murder of an actual living person is appalling. This is extremely distasteful and obviously meant to appeal to the Bush haters. It's almost beyond belief that any network or theatre would play this. I've said it before and I'll say it again now, these people are clinically insane.
No, don't go away you lunatic leftists. Keep screaming as LOUD as you can. Write on these blogs, do interviews on tv and radio, make sure EVERYONE hears what you guys have to say LOUD AND CLEAR.
Please
I wish far left wing wackos like radio left hated the terrorists just 10% the amount they hate President Bush.
It is possible to hate them equally & at the same time. Saddam, Chavez, Kim, Ahmadinejad, Osama & Bush --- let them all share a cell in Gitmo & any other "leaders" of any other countries/organizations who feel that dropping bombs & blowing up civilians is any way to solve a conflict.
I am always reluctant to pass judgement on something that I haven't yet seen... this does seem... suspicious... to say the least.
I probably won't see it... I tend not to like those docudrama things...
Maybe this film will do for Republicans this November what Mickey Moore's Farenhype911 did for President Bush in 2004.
This movie is just more eveidence of how extreme the lefty demnuts are and how out of touch they are with the majority of Americans.
Bring it on
Radio,
You are...ah, good grief, I really can't describe you...a weird combination of ignoramous, traitor and liar...all rolled in to one big bag of leftist nonsense.
On the other hand, I do hope that you guys campaign heavily on your themes...we'd have 70 GOP Senators if you'd be kind enough to do that for us.
will you guys quit your whining? is this the same crowd that tolerates (even cheers on) ann coulter when she calls for the fragging of a sitting senator and the poisoning of sitting judges and the execution of newspaper editors?
until you guys can denouce the same vile tripe from your own people, it would be hard for me to view your concerns about this indie film as genuine.
while i dod not like a movie where Buxh is assassinated, i feel like some other that maybe this will wake up the base and we can keep the majority in both houses.
gozer: I agree with you that Bush will likely never see the inside of a courtroom.
CJ: It isn't that I hate Bush. It is that I love my country and my planet and Bush is harming both.
orangealert:
Thank you for pointing out Coulter's hatred. I mentioned that earlier, but the Bush supporters here are more interested in name calling and distraction than in having an actual discussion.

Mark Noonan: You said that I am "a weird combination of ignoramous, traitor and liar...all rolled in to one big bag of leftist nonsense."
That is either name-calling or factual. I will assume that it is name-calling and therefore unworthy of a serious response unless you can document that I am "ignoramous, traitor, and lier".
waiting... but not holding my breath.

BUT
If we go to his GOD KOS and post something 99.9% less derogatory towards anyone that those, ah, "true majority" support, then we get banned.
We have a word for that here in Ohio, LOSERS
keeter:
" the activities of moveon, etc. are all done in public, the persons behind them known" radioleftist
This is interesting since they WILL NOT make public the list of their contributors. How public is that??
"I am sorry that you have not seen the news reports this week about Bush funding groups in Venezuela to overthrow Chavez."
Are these from the sources that Dan Rather used when he lied about the President? Or perhaps the same sources that mistakenly claimed that Cheney directed Libby to out Valerie Plame, or that Rove would be frog marched out of the whitehouse for the same thing?? sorry but if your sources are leftwing media you have no credibility.
"I suggest that you provide an example of success in fighting terrorism achieved by Bush using military means rather than calling me narrow-minded."
How about 5 years of no terrorist attacks on our soil, if that's not good enough I don't know what is.
BTW:
I don't recall saying you were narrow minded, but simple minded, yes.
It constantly amazes me how humorless the left is. Ann Coulter's comments are essentially a parody of what their leaders are saying every day. It's perfectly "normal" and "reasoned" when they do it but when one of our side makes fun of them by illustrating how absurd they are we're spewing hate.
mel - as long as you recongize that she is a parody i'm fine with that. personally, i think she's a tranny and a media-wh*re but that's just my opinion. i don't her seriously nor do i the makers of this movie...
OA;
I didn't say she was a parody, in fact I think she's brilliant. She very ably skewers the hypocracy exhibited by the leadership on the left. I think that's why they hate her, she hits too close to home for them.
phnxbmed: "How about 5 years of no terrorist attacks on our soil, if that's not good enough I don't know what is." - So, invading Iraq instead of hardening our ports, powerplants, etc. is what has stopped terrorists from attacking on U. S. soil again? There is no provable connection between invading Iraq and Afghanistan and no attacks on U. S. soil.
Even so, it was EIGHT years between the previous attack on U. S. soil by foreign operatives and 9/11, so, you have three more years to go before you can claim any improvement.

As for public disclosure of moveon, etc. contributors, you are correct that some are not disclosed. They disclose what they are legally required to disclose and keep confidential those that they are legally allowed to keep confidential - based on legislation passed by congress. Right-wing organizations use the same law to keep secret their contributors to the extent allowed by law.
If you defend the Bush administration surreptiously influencing politics in foreign countries, consistency dictates that you would also have to defend China, Iran, Syria, the U. K., Canada, or any other foreign power surreptiously funding organizations to undermine the Bush administration.

Bigfoot, I am dead serious about Git'mo--too many kooks get away with too much during a time of war. As for mf53 and this moron RadioLeft, I'd much rather see them swinging from a gallows. Dead serious...
