*Shakes his head*
I'm pretty sure Rove doesn't care about this. Heck he's not even elected so what does he care? He cooperated, he knew he did nothing wrong, all is well for him.

Mark - I'd wait until the "kerfluffle" is officially dismissed before editorializing. The Democrats and the MSM have not finished yet, and neither Rove, nor Libby, nor the Administration are safe yet.

Hick,
Dude, there was no crime - there is nothing to the Plame story, just as I've been saying since it first broke. We are still waiting for the indictment against Libby to collapse, but other than that, not only is everyone else out of the woods, they can't even see the forest from where they are.
Posted by: Mark Noonan at August 30, 2006 02:20 AM
Wow, the AP's not even trying to hide its liberal bias any longer.

Mark -
I never said there was anything to the matter.
I said that the Democrats and the MSM have not finished with their "investigation" yet.
Don't assume that anyone's out of the woods at this point.
Posted by: The Small Town hick at August 30, 2006 04:49 AM
Surely the hick cannot believe, not for one fleeting moment, that if the opposition had ANYTHING against Rove, they would not have used it by now.
I notice how the Left just steadfastly looks the other way when questioned about why Fitzgerald did not even inquire into Plame's status. His determination that this was something he didn't even need to establish was pretty indicative of the general direction of the so-called "investigation"---it was not to determine whether or not a crime had been committed, but merely to create enough smoke to convince the gullible there was a fire.
Another resolutely ignored aspect of Fitz's "investigation" is the open and willing cooperation of all the Republicans involved. Note the lack of stalling, dodging, etc., Note the failure to run up the bill into tens of millions of dollars, to try to create a political bludgeon to use against the Dems later.

Since Armitage was the source for Plamefest to Novak and Fitxmas knew from day one...why was Judy Miller tossed in the slammer for a couple months?
Sounds like somebodies civil rights were abused by a corrupt prosecutor.
Hey Karl, (we know you read this blog) you should start sending pet frogs to Lyin' Joe Wilson, ValVanity Flameout, Screamin' Howie Dean, Dirty Harry Reid, and the rest of the leftwing nutjobs who are now hungover from Fitzmas and blowing chunks in the porcelin god.
Well...not lives one (that would be inhumane...to the frogs), maybe Kermit puppets.
Better yet Karl, you should get a frog mascot and use it as a prop during speeches. Please, Please, Please!!!
Hey I got an idea...Maybe B4B can take up a "FrogMarch" drive. Ya could send a frog with a card attached from "KR"
Too funny!

Since when is Scot Fitzgerald considered to be a ‘Lefty’?
First, Armitage was not the original source for Cooper: Rove was, and Libby confirmed it. Armitage was not the original source for Judith Miller: Libby was.
Libby lied about his role so he was indicted for perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements to the FBI.
Second, how did Armitage receive the information that Plame was Wilson's wife and worked for the CIA? A memo that had been written at the request of Libby when he was Cheney's chief of staf, and was circulated among State Department officials, including Armitage.
That memo is a clear indication that there was a concerted effort by the Administration to discredit Wilson by using Plame, outing her in the process. For them, politics was apparently more important than national security.
Third, the claim that no crime was committed is absurd. From the Grand Jury Subpoena of Judith Miller. U.S. Court of Appeals: “
Addressing deficiencies of proof regarding the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, the special counsel refers to Plame as “a person whose identity the CIA was
making specific efforts to conceal and who had carried out covert work overseas within the last 5 years”—representations I trust the special counsel would not make without support.

Willem,
Keeping the leftwing flame alive, I guess...look, for the last time: ROVE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. There was no scandal, it was all an invention...you really do have to think about this - Wilson wrote his op-ed piece only AFTER he became a foreign policy advisor for John Kerry.
If you can't tell when you are confronted by an old-fashioned political smear campaign, then there's just no hope for you.

SCREAMING doesn't make it so, Marky.
Rove has been interrogated by Fitzgerald 5 times. Hardly an indication that Rove "had nothing to do with it". Rove initially claimed he didn't have anything to do with the Plame-leak. We know that that was a lie when Matthew Cooper came forward with his story. Rove and his attorney have not disputed this story.

WoV,
Dude, you are a classic moonbat. Give me your address and I will mail you a frog.
Why didn't Armitage come forward 2 years ago?
and this line from your rant:
"representations I trust the special counsel would not make without support."
Fitzmas LIED in his representation...otherwise Armitage would have been indicted for outing a "covert agent". Fitzmas knew Armitage was the leak from the very beginning. Logic would tell you ValVanity Flame must not have been a covert agent...DuH!
As for Scooter he will get his day in court to refute the memories of journalist. I am sure his lawyers will have no problems finding stories reported by these journalist that misrepresented the truth. After all misrepresentation is the hallmark of the liberal media.
Don't forget to send yor address...I found the perfect cheese eating surrender frog for ya.

Fitzmas knew Armitage was the leak from the very beginning.
Yep. And he still went ahead with his investigation. Logic (and or the results from the previous investigations) told him there was more, and he was right. At least three senior Administration officials (Rove, Libby, Armitage) peddled the same information to at least six journalists in the same period before Novak wrote his column. That is not a coincidence, that's a concerted effort.
Nobody has been indicted (yet) for leaking her name. Libby was indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice. Armitage hadn't done that: he came forward on his own accord when he realized he might have been a source for Novak. Libby lied and Rove? Well, we will just have to wait and see. My bet is that Fitzgerald has Cheney in the crosshairs right now.

Wully's all over this one, ain't he? Wrong to the bitter end, but steadfast in his regurgitation of the Left talking points.
So, Willy, why didn't Fitz even bother to find out if Plame was covert? After all, it's a little odd to mount an investigation into something without even bothering to find out if a crime had been committed in the first place. But he admitted he never even bothered to ask.
Well, not to the Dems......For them, it's business as usual. As in the indictment of DeLay for something that was not even illegal when they allege he did it.
You all tried to make this a scandal but it was never more than a silly excuse to slime Republican leaders. And it only impressed the silly---as proven over and over again here.

I rarely wax dogmatic, but...
Thank God for Keith Olbermann.
