There's a problem with the dates of who knew what and when. Libbey will be exonerated. Fitzgerald's case may be seriously damaged.

So no Rove indicted next Friday? :)
I'm sure the leftards will spin this as some sort of RW conspiracy, hatched by a cabal of Bush supporters to protect Rove, Cheney, and Bush.

axis,
Yes, it is too bad - Libby's name has been dragged through the mud, as have Rove and Cheney, and they had nothing to do with it.
The left strikes again: dishonorable people throwing mud at the honorable.
Posted by: Mark Noonan at August 27, 2006 07:38 PM
Can they still charge Armitage with a felony? Specifically, failing to report a felony?
Posted by: Tina at August 27, 2006 08:38 PM
Fitzgerald gets Libby indicted for 'lying' about a non-crime, for which the perpetrator is already known by the not-so special prosecutor.
Fitzgerald wanted a Bush Administration 'trophy', and didn't care how he got it, or if there was even an indictable offense. Why didn't he indict Armitage when he had the chance, instead of going off on a so-called 'perjury' tangent?
Now the Libby case will fall flat, but Libby's life and career has been ruined by not only Fitzgerald; but especially by the Wilsons and those in the MSM whose BDS led to this abuse of the judicial system.
Posted by: Hermie at August 27, 2006 09:12 PM
A few observations:
This might be a case of no crime having been committed - until there was an investigation.
Fitzgerald is as bad as Ken Starr was accused of being. Come to think of it, Clinton's war on Serbia was as unilateral as Bush's war on Iraq is accused of being, but I digress.
After all the times the Democrats during the Clinton years used the "bureaucratic SNAFU" defense (such as in Filegate), we find that the whole Plame game might just have been the result of a bureaucratic SNAFU - an official saying something that he shouldn't. I'm sure though, that quite a few lefies still won't allow for the possibility of an honest mistake coming from the Bush administration.
Armitage may not have leaked the actual name "Valerie Plame", but instead told Novak it was "Wilson's wife". Novak himself claims to have gone to Wilson's entry in Who's Who to find out her actual name.
I find this revelation to be a bit of a let down. No grand conspiracy to smear Wilson and Plame, no deliberate disclosure to counter Wilson's claim that Cheney sent him to Niger, just someone failing to control his big mouth.

Mark, you say that we on the left are paranoid? The truth is that it is you on the right, that are wearing your tinfoil hats these days, seeing a liberal conspiracy around every corner and behind every bit of bad news for the administration
Soon enough, the time will come when you will have to fess up about these "honorable" people that always seem to get involved with corruption, sleeze and bribes or other nafarious activities.
The truth will eventually come out. Hopefully, the democrats take the house in November and immediately lauch wide scale, multiple investigations to uncover the full extent of the sleeze and corruption and put an end to it, so as you may begin to bring back respect for the oval office.
As it stands, no one respects the president, not americans, not non-americans. They see him for the low intellect, liar that he is. Even Tony Blair has been outspoken about him in recent days, stating "how can anyone respect a person of such low intellect?"

Start at the top....er...topic, that is that Plamegate is the result of a critic of the administration, who just happened to be a member of said adminstration, mentioning IN PASSING to a reporter that the bozo, Joe Wilson, went to Niger because his wife recommended him.
Which brings us to an important point to remember: in ANY adminstration there are people who are actually opposed to success of that administration.
Now, consider Axis' posts....
OTOH, perhaps he's laying the ground work for blaming Armitage's loose tongue on Karl Rove.... (insert rollseyes smiley here)

Axis - just for you bud. http://www.canadasucks.org/
Hi Axis! Here you go:

Has anyone else noted the irony of Axis' posts on this thread?
Start at the top....er...topic, that is that Plamegate is the result of a critic of the administration, who just happened to be a member of said adminstration, mentioning IN PASSING to a reporter that the bozo, Joe Wilson, went to Niger because his wife recommended him.
Which brings us to an important point to remember: in ANY adminstration there are people who are actually opposed to success of that administration.
Now, consider Axis' posts....
OTOH, perhaps he's laying the ground work for blaming Armitage's loose tongue on Karl Rove.... (insert rollseyes smiley here)
