Democrats Doom Themselves

Marshall Wittman says it all over at NRO's The Corner:

At the end of the day, I think it's a very unhealthy phenomenon for the Democratic Party, just like the rise of McGovernism was unhealthy for the Democratic party because it moves it away from the political center and it particularly underscores the weakness in the Democratic Party on national security. I would point out that, almost 40 years ago, that McGovernism emerged out of opposition to an unpopular war, and the paradox of the moment is that even though the war was unpopular, the Democratic Party was perceived as weak on national security. My sense is that the blogosphere will push the Democratic Party to the left and particularly if Lamont is successful in this primary. I don't believe he will ultimately be successful in the general election, but if he's successful in that primary, the blogosphere will use that victory to drive the Democratic presidential primary in 2008 to the left, and this will be exploited by the Republican Party for years to come.

As I said earlier, the Democrats have clearly become the Party of Defeat - the Defeaticrats - in the War on Terrorism, while the GOP is the Party of Victory. The American people will decide with their votes how this all comes out, and I'm 100% confident of the result - the GOP is going to win this year, and for years to come.

Oh yeah, Mark you're doing sooooo well. Vacation in Iraq anyone?

I'm just waiting for the accusations of voter fraud and disenfranchisement from the left when they lose again in November.

Posted by: Art Patscheck at August 2, 2006 12:50 PM

Trolls whistling past the graveyard.

In the 1972 Presidential race, McGovern got 38 percent of the vote but only 17 electoral votes. And that was against Richard Nixon who got 61 percent of the popular vote and 520 electoral votes. George McGovern ran on a platform of ending the Vietnam War and instituting guaranteed minimum incomes for the nation's poor. Because he had alienated many powerful Democrats and because of a successful Republican campaign to paint him as unacceptably radical, McGovern suffered a landslide defeat. Sound familiar? Minimum income guarantee? End the war? Alienating powerful Democrats? History is about to repeat itself.

Hey Trolls,

Republicans breed future voters, Dummycrats abort them.

The Republicans will continue to dominate at the ballot box for many years in the future.

You commie trolls should just start practicing your election motto..."We almost won"

Ya' been using that for how many years now?

Y'all lefties can cite polls all you want. But they come down to Republicans being honest over the way their elected critters act, while dems sheeple along. Come November, the GOP will be out there voting in numbers for their own critters, so as to not allow the Surrender Monkeys take the big stage and push us down a road toward defeat.

Posted by: William Teach [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 01:53 PM

Hey, Charlie "Bring back the Draft" Rangel say's he will resign if the commie dems don't regain the house this year.

This is gonna be a great election year for Republicans.

Start packin' Charlie!

More evidence that the party of the jackass is getting sillier as time goes by? How about this picture of Lieberman in blackface (a racial slur) and the accompanying attack on him for taking a $1,000 campaign contribution from Wal-Mart? Makes him pretty evil, right? Well, how do they explain the dozens and dozens of jackass pols that also take money from Wally World, as indicated here? These dumb jackasses are in full cannibal mode now.

Here is what your buddy Dick Morris has to say about the ’06 election:
“Looks like a GOP wipeout but the trend doesn’t show yet”

“Current surveys show a tendency toward the Democrats but do not show a rout as of yet. But any Republican strategists who take comfort from that did not live through 1986 or 1994, the two most recent years when a party trend swept through Congress like a plague, killing the deserving and the undeserving alike.”

Posted by: Barneyg2000 [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 02:33 PM

Here is what your buddy Dick Morris...

This Dick Morris?:

Morris is best known for managing Bill Clinton's successful 1996 bid for re-election to the office of President of the United States. His tenure on that campaign was cut short two months before the election, when it was revealed that he had had an extramarital affair with a prostitute and allowed her to listen to conversations with the President.

Sounds like a typical jackass to me. Why would anyone listen to him. He predicted Kerry would win too. Whistling past the graveyard...

Hey Rev, do you feel the same way about Katherine Harris? The FL GOP told here to go away, you can’t win and we wont support you. The backlash against Liebermann is not coming from the party, unlike the case against Harris.

I'll try again.

I am dissappointed with the Republican leadership about illegals, not prosecuting the Iraq war aggressively enough, pussyfooting around with Lil Kim, Assad and the Iranian nut. With the only alternative being the Dims and and their leaders like Dean, Pelosi, Reid thats just not an option, I will pull a straight Rep ticket. I have a feeling many conservatives when it comes right down to it will get out and vote not so much for their guys as against the Dims.

Barney,

What is the date on that Morris quote? It sounds like something I read 4 or 5 months ago, though I could be wrong as Morris is rather repetitive...he's not much of a political analyst: just takes whatever the latest poll is as gospel. This was rather funny in 2004 as one day he'd say Kerry had it in the bag, and then the next say Bush did 'cause a poll showed it.

Time will tell if I am right - I just hope you have the guts to be here on election day, and the day after, if I prove right...all our lefties from 2004 vanished about 8pm on election day in 2004 and weren't seen again.

Posted by: Mark Noonan [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 04:47 PM

Republicans in states/districts that matter--you stay home on election day at your peril. My rep will get reelected easily, a red spot in a blue state.

The Middle East is blowing up in our faces, and the real fun has yet to begin. What kind of world do we get with yellow-bellies in charge? Stay home in November, and you'll find out...

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 05:46 PM

Hey, wasn't it just yesterday that we had a long, concerned discussion about how uncivil those liberals were being, and how much better Republicans are? Lets look at that famed civility today: Democrats are..

"jackasses"

"cowardly jackasses"

"Dummycrats" and of course...

"commies"

Let me be the first to say that I don't care what you call me, in fact I wish you could try a little harder and come up with something better (commies? that's so 40 years ago.). It is amusing, however, to watch you guys unable to last even a week without being crass. Next time, Mark, just skip the posts on "Democrats are mean" and stick to more tried and true topics, like "Democrats are murderers" or "Democrats are wimps".

Notes from the Underground. To the warmongers: Nobody is going to confront us any longer with regular armies. There are too many nuclear weapons around. So, good luck with all of the missiles and bombs and the dead children that they cause. Our public relations campaigns(propaganda) will collapse well before our ability to "control" the situation, on the ground, militarily. The new paradigm: Talk or die. Peace or war. Peace

The latest move for the jackasses? The Fudge Report. Heh. Take a look at their blog entry here to get some sense of how stupid this idea is. Be sure to read the comments. I don't think that is what then envisioned in their planning sessions. What a bunch of maroons.

"I do wonder, though, why Bush supporters love war so much."

CO..I know your not real bright but try to wrap your mind around this.

We dont love war... were aware of the threat and understand the necessity of war as a tool in the geopolitical game. Let the grown ups do their job.

Posted by: ZootAllure [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 07:47 PM

C.O.: I have to agree partially with zoot here. When he says : "We dont love war... we're aware of the threat......." you need to realize that zoot + mates have bought into the constant fear, fear, fear agenda that Bush & Co. have been barking. When one is afraid, one is easy to control.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 08:50 PM

"When one is afraid, one is easy to control."

No one is controlling me you mindless drone. There is a large difference between fear and aware.

I have read volumes on the ME and understand the threat of their cult "religion". 60 years ago when it took weeks to get here and the worst they could have done was set off a a small amount of explosives we could afford to be complacent. 60 years ago when the MSM was somewhat balanced, didnt really exist in the ME and they werent being whipped into a frenzy over things like cartoons we could be complacent. Only a fool could read the current situation as not posing a threat. In 92 I said to my dad that we were making a huge mistake not taking Sadam out.

I'm sorry your deaf, dumb and blind to the threat but that will not influence anyone who has done an honest appraisel of the problem.

And then there's Bungalow Bill, Hey Bungalow Bill, what did you kill, Bungalow Bill?

Or when Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore said in the movie "Apocalypse Now", "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning - it smells like ... victory!"

Or when when George S. Patton said, "We're gonna grab 'em by the nose and kick 'em in the ass - we're gonna grease our tank treads with their living guts."

Posted by: Jeremiah [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 10:46 PM

Ash,
Do you really believe that the only anthropological function of fear is to allow a person to be controlled? Think about what that implies, that alpha males were the ones who were controlled, and that's why this genetic trait survives and is so widespread, because the ones who were controlled were forced into being the reproducers. Those poor, helpless studs.

Is it perhaps not quite reasonable that the alpha males survived by being afraid, by sensing threats around them and not expecting that just because they believe all people should be equal and tolerant, that that's what everyone believes, even in the face of thousands dead in Washington, Jordan, Bali, Saudi Arabia, New York City, Spain, London, and those are just the ones off the top of my head. Liberals often attack conservatives for ignoring evidence and research. How many rockets does Hezbollah have to launch and how many cities does Al Quada have to bomb and just exactly how many nuclear weapons does Iran have to build before you pay attention to the evidence, what they're telling us about what they hope to do to this world and all of us infidels, and everything they've shown us so far. I know it's paradoxical that the only way tolerance survives is by destroying the intolerant, but you may want to get your head around that idea, unless you like the idea of terrorists cutting it off.

Hey Jeremiah

Good timing. The Reverend needs some of your good words & a little guidance. Seems he is having real bad thoughts with lots of blood & guts, that kind of thing. Anything you could do to help?

Posted by: Canadian Observer [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 11:18 PM

CO quote--Anything you could do to help?"

Perhaps this is why the reverend thinks that way?

and please verify Rev?

Ok, get ready!, here we go!

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Jeremiah:

pretty perceptive, although the leftists on this site will accuse you of using profanity by quoting those verses.

Posted by: Reverend Scaramonga [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 3, 2006 12:20 AM

Reverend Scaramonga,

Yea, CO thought he was going to pull a fast one on me, by him trying to get me to think that you are not on our side(GOP)!

But that's Ok, CO won't trick me!!

Although I will say this!, and please don't take me as being rude!, but nevertheless, I think you might tone it down just a bit!, I know we get angry and all because of the lefts vitriol and all, but, we can still show our anger and everything, but we need to show it in a "helpful manner" you see! because we will never win them over by responding in the rudest of manners which I am guilty of myself!

One more thing before I go, I have seen you state many times in your posts that you do not believe in God, and that right there in itself shows a bad image for the GOP, and please don't take me as being rude, because being rude is the furthest thing from my mind, and don't like to be rude in any way!, because you don't know what it would mean to me to see you get saved, I mean, really, It would make me the happiest person alive!, and you would be helping the GOP more if you were a Christian. you see?

Well, It's taken me some time to really get the nerve to tell you that!!, because I know most atheists really don't want to hear about Jesus, but you know what? Jesus still cares about you!! even though you don't believe in Him. That's why he came to die for me and you and everbody here who is reading this, He cared that much for the whole world!!

I know it will probably upset you that I have mentioned to you about Jesus, but you know I thank God that He gives me this oppurtunity everyday to witness to someone about His never-ending love for them!!

I won't bother you anymore if you find that it upsets you to hear about Jesus!!

And remember:

This day and every day is possible only because of knowing Jesus Christ as our personal savior!!

Psalm 118:24

"This is the day that the Lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad in it"

:)

Thank you!

Jeremiah

To the Liberals:

Read those verses that Jeremiah posted, and I mean read em' HARD! Especially the very last verse that says our motto should be "In God is our Trust!"

If you would take time, to read and apply those verses to your severely disconnected brains, we might all could start fighting toward a common goal. But no, you want to kick God out, Merry Christmas out, and even kick the pastors out of the pulpits for preaching the truth on the moral issues of this country and this world!

LEARN TO READ! It's high time you liberals started thinking towards a change of heart on the big issues of today. Learn to pray for our President, ask God to give you guidance when votes on moral issues come before you, ask God to direct our President ... the verses say it all, wouldn't you agree? IN GOD IS OUR TRUST!

Every American stands, with hats taken off, and hands over hearts when even the very first utterances of the chords of that song are played. We hold this song in deep regard, and praise it, as we rightly should. I honestly believe these are divinely inspired verses.

But lately, I don't even see why the Democrats stand. They shout to kick God out, to kick pastors out ... it's a SICKENING SHAME! Why don't you just pack your bags, and move to some Communist country? They don't want God, anymore than they want freedom of choice. I think you'd fit in just beautifally. You defend communism every day by screaming pull out of Iraq! I guess you just feel the need to let these people get slaughtered every day at the hands of old world minded butchers. The spread of freedom is slowly taking an increase, inching really, if you lefties would just lay off the President and give him time, it might speed up a tad. Maybe then he could focus on what strategic decision to make next. But no, he has to baby-sit democrats every day by hearing their complaints. I'm done for the night, my blood pressure is rising. Lefties: Just read the verses of the song ...

Lucas.

Did you not receive the letter I wrote you?

Why are ya'll doing me this way? I came here to support the president, and then I am labeled a liberal, why? why? why?
