Harry Reid: Castro is President Bush's Fault

I know that the opposition is supposed to hammer the President every day, but this is a stretch, even for the likes of Harry Reid (from NRO's The Corner):

It is time for the Bush administration to offer a real plan to help the Cuban people finally get the freedom they deserve. In addition, we need to continue supporting those who have been leading the call for democracy and freedom within the island.

I didn't know we were supposed to have a plan - real or otherwise - to help the Cuban people to gain freedom. From what I can tell, our Democrats have mostly been about lauding Castro's bogus health care system and demanding that we treat his as if he were a normal political leader rather than a blood-crazed tyrant. Also, aren't our Democrats also on and on about how we can't intervene unilaterally? Does Harry Reid have the UN's permission to bring freedom to Cuba? Has this plan of Reid's passed a global test?

Some people worry about the midterms - I just can't. With Pelosi and Reid running the Democratic show, I just can't imaging losing.

How does saying that we need to Democratize Cuba saying that Bush supports Castro?

I think that we should lift the embargo on Cuba as long as we trade with China, but his government will eventually implode...

End the blockade and reestablish full diplomatic relations immediately. The Cubans won't vote Republican anyway. Peace

How does saying that we need to Democratize Cuba saying that Bush supports Castro?

Huh?

I think that we should lift the embargo on Cuba

Of course you do. The embargo has been imposed on Cuba since February 7, 1962. (by Democrats) It was codified into law in 1992 and 1995,(by Democrats). In 1999, U.S. President Bill Clinton (a Democrat) expanded the trade embargo by ending the practice of foreign subsidiaries of U.S. companies trading with Cuba in dollar amounts totaling more than 700 million a year.

Just goes to show that the Democrats, with their soul buried deep in Lenin and Marx's ideology, can't be trusted by even the Commies they attempt to emulate. Go figure.

"It is time for the Bush administration to offer a real plan to help the Cuban people finally get the freedom they deserve."-Harry Reid

I wonder what Harry Reid would say if President Bush offered one? Heh. Heh.

Posted by: Freedom1 [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 2, 2006 04:17 PM

Maybe Reid would like us to invade Cuba...even though they didn't attack us.

"End the blockade and reestablish full diplomatic relations immediately."

Blockade??? Drive by Steve typifies the level of intelligence (or lack thereof) on the left.

He is no doubt in favor of establishing full diplomatic relations with Hezbullah & Al Queda.
