Honestly, how do you suggest bringing it to an end? The death and capture of terrorits and their sponsors?
Are you advocating invading Iran?

Maybe the Zionist/neo-con/Christian-fascist warmonger's should try a dialoge with everybody. What they have done until now is just making it more and more dangerous to be a human being. Peace

Go VDH! While I don't necessarily support wanton cruise missile launchings (thank you Bill Clinton. We all know how dangerous aspirin can be for your health0, I totally agree that the radical Islamists are almost demanding a no holds barred strike against their bases, which could endanger the infrastructure of the countries giving them sanctuary. It's time for both the terrorists and their home countries to decide what price their willing to pay for the right to keep destroying innocent American, Isreali, Arab, and Kurdish lives. We (and Israel should as well) need to pull out of the United Nations. The United Nations has pretty much admitted with their actions and their de facto support of Syria and Iran by not referring to Iran's current military actions through Hezbollah as terrorism that they are the enemy. They are a corrupt organization and supporters of terrorism. They do NOT belong on our soil. We should NOT be members.

It's people like that who die lonely and forgotten...much like his blog, lonely...and fogotten. Like a fart in the wind from too much time in his basement, wondering why his ex-wife looks so happy, sucking down MREs and trying to remember the good ole' days before his gut got a little too large for him to still see his penis, and his credit card bills weren't riddled with 1-900 charges.
Just sit back and laugh, I bet he likes to think that somewhere, someday, he might be a politico, and someone would bother to take him seriously. I laugh as I remember just how minute the wanna-be pundits and editorial writers around here, really are. Kick back, drink a beer, and revel in the fact that hateful people are just winding themselves up, and the less you pay attention to them, the more the reality of the life they are trying to escape sets-in.

Madeline,
Muslim's aren't oppressed, because that doesn't fit well into the counter-historical narrative which allows these neophytes to preach their sermon of one-sided 'boo-hoo' for the quite capable IDF. We can't fund states in regards to No Child Left Behind, but we can fund the Israeli army to the tune of 2-billion dollars a year. How many Abrahams do they need to stop kids throwing rocks, and rockets made from melted-down trashcans?
When you humanize a people, it becomes hard to advocate killing them, so the story that all Palestinians wan't to eradicate Israel is a convenient red-herring so that American's don't sympathize too much, we can't have the common man feeling sorry for these damn-dirty, starving, poor, thirsty, disease-ridden mastermind terrorists.

Abrahams? Abrahams? WTF are you talking about, Brown Eye?
so the story that all Palestinians wan't to eradicate Israel is a convenient red-herring
Yea, real red herring. That has to be the laffer of the day. Every leader of Every country in the Middle East has at one time or another called for the destruction, obliteration, annihilation of the "Zionist Entity" including heroes of yours like Saddam, that screwball in Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Arafat and on and on. You better find something else to sell because nobody's going to buy that. The reality crowd knows better and the ones who actually DO want Israel destroyed, wiped out, eradicated, well, they know its true and aren't afraid to tell the world on a daily basis.
But your willingness to place your moist tongue on the terrorists' collective asses and lick with great vigor might get them to send you a free Osama bin Laden poster and a Zarqawi T-shirt as a token of their appreciation for your support. Act before the hanging, and you can also get a free can of authentic Saddam Hussein farts, bottled in prison for your huffing pleasure.

Two points. First, I'm talking about you and your pals licking terrorist behinds. It is metaphorically similar to kissing their asses, which normally means you're doing whatever they want you to do in order to please them. That is how I see your constant banging on the "terrorists are good guys" while simultaneously repeating the standard anti-Semitic, "I hate the Jooooz" ad infinitum. And secondly, I don't consider the radical terrorists to be men. They are about the same place on the "tree of life" as rats.
I am not talking about the Ideologue leaders of nations in the ME
Oh, I see. We can just ignore them - they won't harm us. Is that the line to the Israelis?
I am talking about the run-of-the-mill Palestinian who has spent 40 years holed-up in a ghetto, at the mercy of Israel's arbitrary, collective retributions.
Again with the anti-Jew remarks. The Palestinians have been fighting the Jews since the UN gave the Jews a homeland by partitioning Palestine. They HATE the Jews and want them obliterated.
Over 70% of the Palestinians want a 2 state solution, about the same number as their Israeli counterparts.
Must be why they voted Hamas - an organization of terrorists whose charter states that their main goal is the destruction of Israel - into their government. Funny way of showing it, don't you think? Oh, and I don't believe your number for a second.
For as much military prowess between the US and ISrael, who the hell is going to roll tanks into Tel-Aviv and destroy them?
Nobody better try, that's for sure.
They are the hegemonic nuclear power in the region, what the hell are they scared of?
As far as I can see, not much.
Some dirty, hungry, disease-ridden Palestinians who don't even have enough money to pay their civil servants?
Is that how you describe the suicide bombers? poor little Palis with diseases and stuff? Does Hamas qualify for your empathetic description so they can inspire an "Awwwwww...." from the Leftist crowd?
Why is it that our partners such as Japan, Australia, etc. TIME AFTER TIME voted for rebuke of ISrael for their insistency to keep the occupied territories?
Because they don't have to live with the results?
Why have we driven our friends to side with the terrorists, doesn't that say something about our positions?
Any "friend" who sides with the terrorists is no friend and deserves the same thing that terrorists are destined to get. And that ain't 72 virgins either.

Rev,
" That is how I see your constant banging on the "terrorists are good guys" while simultaneously repeating the standard anti-Semitic, "I hate the Jooooz" ad infinitum."
--If I love the Palestinians, and hate the Jews so much, then I can't be "anti-Semitic", they are both Semetic people.
"Oh, I see. We can just ignore them - they won't harm us. Is that the line to the Israelis?"
--You're trying to obfuscate the original premise of the comment. I was commenting on the will of the Palestinians to have a two/unity state solution, if you choose to ignore polling data, and just go with your own 'gut-feelings' then so be it. but your "point" doesn't hold much water.
"Must be why they voted Hamas"
--Does someone's voting preference mean they agree with every tennent of the party's platform? Can you be a Republican and be pro-choice, or a Democrat and be Pro-life?
Quit making things black and white, when the world exists in shades, it came down to them rebuking the 40+ years of PLO corruption and obstruction, not condoning the killing of civilians or the "obliteration" (a word which doesn't exist in Arabic) of Israel. If you don't like the polls, then that is your problem, I am sure you know better, through your 'gut-feelings'.
"Is that how you describe the suicide bombers?"
--No, that is how the UN describes the Palestinian people, the aid required to keep all of them from starving to death is the proof in the pudding.
"Any "friend" who sides with the terrorists is no friend and deserves the same thing that terrorists are destined to get"
--Are you advocating that we bomb EVERY country on Earth, with the exception of Israel?
Posted by: Third Eye Open at July 22, 2006 09:40 PM
Can you be a Republican and be pro-choice, or a Democrat and be Pro-life?
Since that particular issue provides the penultimate division between liberals and conservatives, I'd say no. Of course the practical answer is of course they can, but they likely won't get far. Case in point: Giulani is said to be very popular as a possible candidate for Republicans in 2008. I will say right here and now, he won't even come close to getting the nod in the convention and will not win many primaries either. He's pro-abortion and pro-homosexual marriage. Those things can be written some day on his tombstone, right under the words, "Why he failed..."
Quit making things black and white, when the world exists in shades,
And there's another one. I don't see shades of right and wrong. I see things as right or wrong. Given any situation, I understand the complexities, look at the pros and cons and eventually decide on the rightness or wrongness of the question presented. Once that decision is made, it is black and white. If new information changes the situation, I re-evaluate and change my decision to reflect the new information if need be. I do hold some things to be absolutes like being against abortion. So any situation that asks for my support or approval that results in an abortion is not ever going to get it. There is no gray area there, no shades.
But Liberals don't see things that way. I promise not to ask you to quit finding "shades" where none really exist if you promise to stop trying to get me to see those same invisible "shades."
a word which doesn't exist in Arabic
Another attempt at a cheap rhetorical trick. I am no expert on Arabic, but the Iranians as I understand it speak Farsi. And that nut job of a president has indeed called for the obliteration of Israel. No matter, they've all called for the elimination, destruction, annihilation, obliteration - whatever word you want to chose for wiping Israel off he planet - of Israel. You deny that at your own loss of credibility. Defend what they say; don't play word games.
No, that is how the UN describes the Palestinian people,
Ah, the UN. That makes all the difference. Now I know how to judge that statement.
Are you advocating that we bomb EVERY country on Earth
More word games. I never suggested that in the least. If you think that's what I said, please point it out to me. But you won't because you can't. And don't bother quoting me and saying, "That means ..." because I know what I meant when I wrote it and that is not it. If you want to resort to hyperbole instead of having a serious discussion, so be it but I once thought that libs such as you were all about "reasoned debate," not histrionic wailing and imagined meanings. Try harder.

Reverend Scaramonga at July 23, 2006 12:21 PM
Rev,
I didn't bring up the pro-life/pro-choice to discuss that issue, I was making an example of political dichotomies. Do you agree that just because the option between Hamas and PLO was a crappy one, that someone had to win, and it very easily could have been a "lesser of two evils", rather than a mandate to "obliterate" Israel?
"Defend what they say; don't play word games."
--First-off, I am not responsible to defend a murderous, terrorist organization's manifesto.
Secondly, my comment about symantics is completely relevant in that you cannot claim to "know" what the organization says without being able to understand the linguistic minutia of the statement.
For instance, in pop-culture colloqium, the term 'Sick' means something approximate to "awesome, neat, radical, tubular, etc", yet the common term in modern english means something completely different.
When I mention the term "obliterate" doesn't appear in Arabic (Hamas is writing to Palestinians who speak arabic, not persian-Farsi), I mean it to make the point that the term which was used (محيت; cancel or erase) may have an english parallel, but in Arabic the word doesn't mean to say that Hamas wishes to play Hitler to Israel, the connotation is such that it reflects a wish to see the occupation of the Palestinian lands ended, or erased/cancelled/removed.
Please don't take this explaination as me standing-up for Hamas, they are a bunch of murderous thugs, but I wanted you to understand that a single word can make a world of difference when trying to neatly fit it into English vernacular. This isn't a word-game, this is trying to understand the way in which different cultures describe their world.
"Now I know how to judge that statement."
--There is no judgement needed here, how are you going to argue that the Palestinians are starving, poor, thirsty, and disease-ridden? It's a fact.
TEO:"Why is it that our partners such as Japan, Australia, etc. TIME AFTER TIME voted for rebuke of ISrael for their insistency to keep the occupied territories? Why have we driven our friends to side with the terrorists, doesn't that say something about our positions?"
Rev:"Any "friend" who sides with the terrorists is no friend and deserves the same thing that terrorists are destined to get. And that ain't 72 virgins either."
--How do you want me to take that statement?
The position of Hamas et al. is that Israel should give back the land post-'67, that is the position the UN, and EVERY OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD [sans USA] hold aswell. So therefore our friends and allies hold the same positions as the terrorists, like it or not. Your response was simple, and all encompassing, so do you wish to re-state it, or are you going to stand by it?

Art,
I'm sure you really, really, really want everyone to know your opinion, but calm it down, buck-o, it's a button, not a clitoris, you don't have to tap it so many times.
TEO, must you be crass and condescending? You can be sure that Art did not intend to have multi-postings. Your just being a jerk and not a "well meaning heathen" as you called yourself. Your post was pointless and did not contribute one good thing. Please live up to your "well meaning heathen" intentions. Or are heathens duplicitous?
KttR,
Sorry if my humor offended your delicate predispositions, i'll try and keep my comic musings in check so that the board can be free of condescending and rude comments
TEO, must you be crass and condescending?
Sorry, that's all he's got. Give him a break. In a battle of wits, he is unarmed.
Iran and Syria could end this mess in a nono-second, but why should they? If they "don't" we threaten to blow them up and if they "do" we threaten to blow them up.

ANd TEO, from a man young enough to have not been turned into a cynical, hopelessly postmodern, politically correct pansy, shut your face! To quote the great Samuel Jonson, "Everything inside you condemns itself for being there!"
Matt,
You don't support cruise missles being launched on innocent civilians, but you advocate guided missles from IDF gunships being launched on innocent civilians...now I see the difference.
From a man who has no idea how you describe post-modernism, but knows that he likes wheat beer, may I quote my hero:
"America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable." --Hunter S. Thompson
man TEO, even your "sorry" post is condesending. Yes, I will appreciate you keeping this board free of rude and condesending "comic musings". At least my "predisposition" is not caloused over. I don't think you know how to not be condesending. It must be natural for you to be condesending.
KttR,
I am glad you atleast got the humor in that post. yes, its tough to not be condescending around here...but I will keep my barbs for the political realm, and leave pleasure-parts out of it
Sorry

That breeze your feeling on your cheeks just means you had you pants pulled down, again. Get used to it it's gonna happen alot.
That breeze your feeling on your cheeks just means you had you pants pulled down, again. Get used to it it's gonna happen alot.
Doesn't surprise me from a poofter like you. Look, Mr. Puffer, or can I call you Peter? Show me your blog or STFU. Or not. I don't much care. We have to have examples of idiots here and you serve the purpose quite well.

"I don't much care."
Righhhhtttttttttt......
Look if you think questioning my manhood is going to get a rise out of me then you are barking up the wrong tree. Lol People like you make me laugh. You're just pathetic.
And as for my blog I never said I had one. No YOU"RE the big man here. YOU used to be a moderator here who would have barred the likes of people such as myself. YOU have an answer for everyone. Too bad those answers are a string of racial epithets and stereotypical classifications.
Either you play nice or you're gonna see more of this.
Look if you think questioning my manhood is going to get a rise out of me then you are barking up the wrong tree.
Another hypocritical lefty. If a Conservative would have said this, Leftorium would be all over him or her for being what they like to call "homophobic," as if that were really a word.
Scar,
Leftorium has been an idiot here for months; she's just a fat beyotch looking for a fella...

Of course you didn't Pete.
Either you play nice or you're gonna see more of this.
Ooooh. A tough broad like ... Oprah the Whale? Roseanne Barr? You gonna go all "Ellen Deginerate" on me? Ooooh, I so scared!" No, really. So LFFGF SGSPN NE sez yer a bloater, a fat beyotch looking for a fella... zat true? When you see Sllck Willie on TV taking a long draw on an El Diamante Prohibido cigar, do you yell to the screen, "me me me, do me Mr. President!!!" Do ya? Oh, and are ya a chalker?
A fat beyoch? Hahahaha! I should have known.
Left,
Don't you love it when lonely, social-rejects like Rev feel the need to bolster their own flagging self-image by pretending they can control an iota of life with slurs?
Smile everyone, and peace!
P.S. wanna bet that I get the standard response from this panty-waste? "No, no, that's what YOU are"
Kick back, drink a beer
How cruel! That's probably how the chubster got so blubbery. Don't encourage that kind of behavior. Or do you like 'em on the hefty side? Shade in the summer, heat in the winter?
Hmmm...want to make terrorists stop? How about putting political pressure against Russia to stop the torture and genocide of the Chechens? How about get Israel to treat Palestinians like citizens. How is that a democracy, it's an apartheid. How can there be peace without equality. These terrorists are fighting for the liberation of their people.
Why is Beslan a tragedy when the forty thousand children dead in Chechnya is not? I don't get why Muslim victims are not victims at all! It makes no sense.
Reagen backed up these Mujahadeen I think we should now.
Madeline,
Muslim's aren't oppressed, because that doesn't fit well into the counter-historical narrative which allows these neophytes to preach their sermon of one-sided 'boo-hoo' for the quite capable IDF.
We can't fund states in regards to No Child Left Behind, but we can fund the Israeli army to the tune of 2-billion dollars a year.
Always gotta resort the equivalency thing, right? And whining.
How many Abrahams do they need to stop kids throwing rocks, and rockets made from melted-down trashcans?
Abrahams?
Rev,
You sure do have a fascination with mens' asses...you might want to get that checked out, before you catch something.
I am not talking about the Ideologue leaders of nations in the ME, I am talking about the run-of-the-mill Palestinian who has spent 40 years holed-up in a ghetto, at the mercy of Israel's arbitrary, collective retributions. Over 70% of the Palestinians want a 2 state solution, about the same number as their Israeli counterparts. For as much military prowess between the US and ISrael, who the hell is going to roll tanks into Tel-Aviv and destroy them? They are the hegemonic nuclear power in the region, what the hell are they scared of? Some dirty, hungry, disease-ridden Palestinians who don't even have enough money to pay their civil servants?
Why is it that our partners such as Japan, Australia, etc. TIME AFTER TIME voted for rebuke of ISrael for their insistency to keep the occupied territories? Why have we driven our friends to side with the terrorists, doesn't that say something about our positions?

Absolutely!!!! I’m having the best time watching these nutters fly of the handle. It’s really just so entertaining and I have to agree with your laser like dissection of the Reverend. I've even had thoughts that he may secretly be one of us posing as a Far Right Wingnut just because he seems like such a sad caricature himself. I see you draw a lot of ire from these wackjobs. Well you know what a WWII tail gunner once said, “ If your taking flak then you must be over the target”. Oh well all we can do is sit back and watch him and the rest of peanut gallery implode.

Bret-
I don't think you even know what you're saying. Saying you aren't bothered by a pee ons opinion of your sexuality doesn't make anyone homophobic. It means that fool's opinion isn't worth anything. Got that?
Oh and Bret,
Webster's Dictionary
Homophobia-
One entry found for homophobia.
Main Entry: ho·mo·pho·bia
Pronunciation: "hO-m&-'fO-bE-&
Function: noun
: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals
- ho·mo·pho·bic /-'fO-bik/ adjective
It's really a word. Try opening a book instead of your mouth.

First off, your name is sorta exotic. Looks like you have the worst case of dyslexia I've ever seen. It's so bad it's even impaired your use of vowels. One little E on the end? How sad. Second, I'm not a she I'm a he. You must also have the only case of sexual dementia ever to be documented. Look a word of advice, I know how hung up you Conservatives are on homosexuality so if I were you and had your gender recognition "problems", I'd be very careful where I put that thing. Looking around at your buddies on this blog you may wake up one morning with a few dozen rubbers sticking out your backside.

WOW man!! Is there anyone in the population that you haven't slagged off yet?
I can just see you sitting there in front of your sad little putty colored computer, in your ripped up tidy whites and your favorite Cheeto stained "NO FAT CHICKS" t-shirt, firing off your little brown chucks of wisdom. Dashing, to say the least.
Oh and my name is not Pete, it's Jeff
How’s that breeze feeling? LOL
You sure do have a fascination with mens' asses...you might want to get that checked out, before you catch something.
Try harder.
Rev,
I didn't bring up the pro-life/pro-choice to discuss that issue, I was making an example of political dichotomies.
