40 Terrorists Killed in Afghanistan

It is all one war, so while we are riveted at the Israel end of it for the moment, don't forget that the battle goes on elsewhere, and that we are not alone in this fight:

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Coalition and Afghan forces killed more than 40 (terrorists) across southern Afghanistan on Saturday, including 10 in a large-scale air assault aimed at wresting a desert town from Taliban control.

More than 300 British paratroopers, backed by U.S. and Canadian forces, launched an early morning raid on Helmand province's insurgent stronghold of Sangin, where hundreds of Taliban had massed in preparation for launching attacks, coalition spokesman Maj. Scott Lundy said.

From Lebanon to Afghanistan, the enemy is being engaged, and defeated.

The good news portion of this is that it was a coalition action with Afghani forces. I hope this country continues to improve and grow. For more positive information on the country, check out the Center for Afghan Studies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
