The Democrats' 2006 Plan

It is, to put it mildly, to run as Republicans. Details over at GOP Bloggers.

So the Democrats will sell out their principles in order to win back power... if that works then what?

How long would they remain in power if they started doing anything they really WANT to do?

Two years? Who knows... I have a suspicion that once you name names Candidate X vs. Candidate Y, you'll see that this election isn't even close.

I have a suspicion you're correct, Wawillyo. All politics, as Tipp O'Neil said, is local. The only exception to that in my lifetime was in 1994 when Republicans successfully articulated what they stood for with "The Contract With America". I know I've said this before, but it's worth repeating: The Democrats can't have a national strategy because it will mean having to articulate what they stand for -- higher taxes, bigger government, appeasing terrorists, unlimited abortion on demand, etc. The last Donk that promised to raise taxes was Walter Mondale, and we all know how well that worked out for him.

It's amazing... they (the d's) have offered nothing... NOTHING!... for people to vote for.

when it comes crunch time... that just won't work.

I want to make it clear that there are Democrats out there that do see the world as it is, a complicated place that requires difficult yet plain responses. You cannot bargain with a terrorist... how many times do we need to see our good faith thrown back in our faces. Only when we speak (and are willing to act) with conviction and with strength, (and with the countries of the world not trying to wring their hands) will we be able to get the world closer to a planet of democratic countries.

But back to the thread... how can someone who doesn't Believe, who doesn't share any comment political views expect to get the vote of those who do Believe and who see the world differently.

Speaker Pelosi? Majority Leader Reid? These people don't stand for anything, that's why Democrats fall for everything (ie. Negotiating with terrorists, or believing Bill Clinton didn't have sex with that woman).

And they're working on destroying those who actually have principles... it's amazing that Democrats claim to be the party of a big tent, and often are, the only person not allowed in their tent now are people who see war in Iraq as something that will, in the end, make the world a better place.

Democrats usually move to the right and act like conservatives during elections. After they win, they revert right back to their looney leftist ways.

If only more voters would actually get up to speed on just who and what they vote for.

The sidewalk approaches.

So, congo, the DemoRat plan has something to do with sidewalks?

I rest my case. Tax and spend, big government cut and run and partial birth abortion on demand. The winning platform for 2006 and 2008.

Keep screaming your true beliefs for the voters to hear. That way they'll realize how out of touch the far left (the Rat party) really is. We'll thank you when we get a filibuster proof Senate.

You case is flawed. Cut billionaire's tax and spend billions on credit, biggest government growth, intrusion and spending EVER, cut defeating the Taliban and run to Iraq, and 60th trimester abortions by the tens of thousands. That's what the Republicans have done so far. You REALLY want to stay that course?
