Lordy did you see the generic polls out for Congress where the Democrats are "for sure going to take over the world"
Well one of those Districts, is my district Ohio-01 the Generic poll has the Democrats winning 47% to 44% but when you add the names of the nominees then Steve Chabot is winning 52% to 43%
This is not a chance in hell that John Cranley is going to defeat Mr. Chabot.

business does NOT pay taxes.
only shareholders & consumers pay taxes in the form of reduced dividends & increased prices.
anyone who says different should be required to pay an "airhead" tax including both parties.
true tax reform - the dollar is only taxed once when it's earned, no exclusions nor deductions. no other taxes allowed.
this nation doesn't have the courage to do that.

(USA TODAY) July 14, 2006, LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) --
"A federal appeals court Friday reversed a ruling that struck down Nebraska's voter-approved ban on gay marriage."
"The Nebraska amendment went farther than similar bans in many states in that it also barred same-sex couples from many legal protections afforded heterosexual couples. For example the partners of gays and lesbians who work for the state are not entitled to share their health insurance and other benefits."
"Seventy percent of Nebraska voters approved the ban in 2000."

Last night in utter disgust, I posted a comment on W's incessant "comical banter" in the political theater. I asked him to get his elbows off the podium and standup straight. I ask him at the minimum, to "act" statesman like. I ask him to cease and desist his lame jokes with leaders from other countries and the press.
We stand at the precipice of additional violence and bloodshed. The world economy stands in peril.
I commented that maybe, just maybe, a well written script will get him through G8 without additional embarrassment to himself and the country he represents.
But no.............not gonna happen.
He stands along with a mortified Merkel and utters completely off base smatterings about the PIG.
Please God almighty help us.
He could not go one day, one day, without embarrassing us again. Incredible.
When will you say, "enough is enough!"
When will you demand accountibility?
I commented that I felt fratboys cannot be cowboys. Is there any doubt left that W acts like a juvinile fratboy?
I for one have had enough. Please look at what you have wrought.
I close most of my posts with "Maroons".
I usually mean that tongue in cheek.

Bob Arctor, yes their hatred is developing, and it does reach a point where reasoning with them is futile. It's like insanity, they reach a point that reasoning with them is not possible. They won't admit it when they are wrong, they are in denial. They attack anything conservative like a mad dog. Their hatred is what draws them here to this blog, and Mark Noonan sets them off. raker13,
The problem the liberal left has with President Bush is that he SAYS WHAT HE THINKS in a "down to earth" way of speaking.
You are used to hearing a slick talking liberal tell you what you WANT TO HEAR in a polished speech that "sounds good to your ears."
Yes, that does get him in trouble at times with those who can not understand what he meant, and who are unable or refuse to comprehend even when it's explained to them.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/13/AR2006071301635.html
“The U.N. Security Council Monitoring Group, set up after Sept. 11, 2001, to encourage countries and international organizations to follow and block al-Qaeda financing worldwide, filed a public report in 2002 that drew attention to U.S. monitoring of international transactions, and identified SWIFT -- as well as the U.S.-based CHIPS system -- as likely sources of data.”
For the Bush administration, and the rest of you righties, to accuse the Times of treason is just plain un-American, and pure politics This program was discussed in various levels of detail on at least four occasions, and was documented in the SWIFT privacy statement and website.

I seem to believe the White House issuing a statement saying the report of disbanding one of the units was untrue. Even if it is, it's not the sole unit hunting Bin Ladin. I imagine there are many units the public knows about and many we don't know about all hunting not only Bin Laden but the leftover Taliban thugs.

Not hard to find guy's, Saddam's Iraq was a record keeping Mecca. The man kept detailed documents on all forms of secret facilities, interrogations, hell what the man had for breakfast everyday ended up in a file. You should be swimming in "evidence" to back up this story. All I’ve seen so far from you reality rejectionists are vagaries, possible connections. Barneyg2000,
I asked you for a cite about the SWIFT program on their website a couple of days ago and am still waiting.
To publish information about a classified program that a number of government officials, from the Secretary of the Treasury to Congressman Murtha, have specifically asked you not to publish because of the potential damage to National Security, is just plain un-American, and pure politics. There was no "public interest" in disclosing the details, regardless if they had been mentioned previously or thought to be the "likely sources of data”.
Since the program was successful in detecting and capturing terrorists, it is obvious that either the terrorists forgot about the program or, more likely, never knew about it. By the NYT plastering all over the frontpage, they know about it now.
The last time I checked, aiding and abetting the enemy is considered treason. If repeatedly informing terrorists, our enemies, about the programs we are using to detect, disrupt, and capture them is not aiding and abetting the enemy, nothing is.
Hang 'em.

President Bush is doing the right thing in regards to Israel!
Bush rejects Lebanese call for cease-fire
AP: ST. PETERSBURG, Russia-President Bush rejected Lebanon's calls for a cease-fire in escalating Mideast violence on Friday, saying only that Israel should try to limit civilian casualties as it steps up attacks on its neighbor.
"The president is not going to make military decisions for Israel," White House spokesman Tony Snow said.
Lebanon's prime minister asked Bush, during a phone call Friday, to pressure Israel for a cease-fire. But Bush told Prime Minister Fuad Saniora that Israelis have a right to protect themselves.
"We think it's important that, in doing that, they try to limit as much as possible the so-called collateral damage, not only on civilians but also on human lives," Snow said.

From the Miami Herald (Katherine Harris is nuts!!). What goes around/comes around:
In explaining his decision to leave, campaign manager Glenn Hodas echoed predecessors Jamie Miller and Jim Dornan. Miller had said the campaign wasn't good for Harris' health. Dornan said Harris had been erratic, temperamental and sometimes unfair -- and tried to blame him for the ''Joe's dead intern'' story when a furious Scarborough called, demanding to know what happened.
''This [story] encapsulates everything wrong with her as a candidate,'' Dornan said. 'She reacted without thinking. She made stuff up. She called people she had no business calling. And when confronted with the insanity of her -- I use this term lightly -- `strategy,' she denied it and tried to blame someone else.''
This couldn’t have happened to a nicer harpy.

Well, I'm glad to hear that.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case with a lot of the Christian radicals. Example:
"Is it time to get excited? I can't help the way I feel. For the first time in my Christian walk, I have no doubts that the day of the Lords appearing is upon us. I have never felt this way before, I have a joy that bubbles up every-time I think of him, for I know this is truly the time I have waited for so long. Am I alone in feeling guilty about the human suffering like my joy at his appearing some how fuels the evil I see everywhere. If it were not for the souls that hang in the balance and the horror that stalks man daily on this earth, my joy would be complete. For those of us who await his arrival know, somehow we just know it won't be long now, the Bridegroom cometh rather man is ready are not."
Sounds like something Jeremiah would post.

UN Resolution 1559 calls for Lebanon to disarm and disband Hezbullah. Israel is finally enforcing this UN Resolution because the spineless leftists in the UN have not done so.
Israel withdrew from Gaza encouraged by the world community that their action would lead to peace with Palestine.
What have these actions gotten them? suicide bombers and Katushya rockets raining down on the people and cities.

TEO,
Repeating... "the nutty left and the liberal media do all they can to create, perpetuate, encourage, and embellish any misunderstand in order to further their anti-Bush, anti-America hatred and propaganda!!!"
Since you and your lefty friends are unable to understand humor, LEAVE THE PIG ALONE!
There were unlimited positive things liberals could have said or say about President Bush's trip, the meeting with Germany's Chancellor Merkel, and even the pig-feast. But no, that does not suit your liberal anti-Bush hate campaign, rhetoric, and propaganda. Liberals run around posting derogatory comments about President Bush's kidding and joking about the pig, as do many in the liberal media. It's bad enough that the liberal's anti-Bush campaign affects his ability to deal with crises like Iran, North Korea, and now Israel, but liberals have damaged the image of the American presidency, future presidents, and America in general for many years to come!
It doesn't take much effort to come up with something positive to say. Here are a few comments I pulled from the Internet with a very quick search...
"Chancellor Merkel: (As translated.) Ladies and gentlemen, I am delighted to be able to welcome the President of the United States... We had a lengthy conversation... We felt very much at home here in this beautiful city. We talked about all of the different issues on the global agenda ... We found that there is a lot that we agree on, as regards our common responsibilities, responsibilities that we see for the two of us the world over. "
"President Bush: ... praised the current state of US-German relations, which have improved considerably since Chancellor Angela Merkel took office in the autumn of last year.
"I bring a message from the American people: We're honored to call the German people friends and allies," Bush said earlier in the day. "America and Germany stand side by side."
"We share common values and common interests. We want to work together to keep the peace. We want to work together to promote freedom. There's so much we can do, working together," he said.
There are many, many more if you don't like any of these!
Perhaps too, you missed the classes about intelligence and language skills when you attended your liberal schools. If you do a little studying and reading, you will find that a person can be very intelligent, but still not have the "slick language skills" you admire in your "slick talking liberal politicians" who "say what you want people to hear."

TEO,
Yes, TEO, we know what you expect, admire, and idolize in your slick talking politicians. You want politicians like "Slick Willie" who tell the people one thing and believe or do another. You do remember Slick Willie, don't you?
From Steve Bowers at the Political Gateway...
"...the media heaped praise on Clinton for his rhetorical skills. 'An outstanding orator' and 'superb rhetoritician' were some of the words of praise I heard bandied about regarding Clinton’s performance. What I didn’t hear was a single mention -- save on Fox and Friends (Fair and Balanced) -- that this speech was 100% lies and BS. We know that the Democratic Party automatons swallow this crap whole. But to the media, apparently style is what matters and the fact that the speech was a stinking mound of BS with no substance to be found is a merely triviality."
"Well, substance does matter. And without substance Clinton is no different than any other slick-talking con man trying to get us to buy snake oil. ... And the Democrats still desperately need a snake oil salesman to help them sell their bankrupt agenda in ..."
From Paul Greenberg in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette...
"This time Slick Willie has drawn fire from Bill Clinton himself, who says there's 'a very good reason' he dislikes the name: 'No one could fairly look at my political life and say I didn't believe in anything.'"
"Really? And just what political belief wouldn't he modify if his popularity depended on it? He didn't specify. He seldom does. It wouldn't be Clintonesque (another term he inspired) to be specific. If there was a single constant to which he adhered throughout his political career, it was probably triangulation."
"Bill Clinton may be confusing the term Slick Willie with Empty Suit. Both might apply in his case, but in addition to equivocation -- at which he remains the master -- the term Slick Willie implies duplicity. Which is why I used it to describe his political persona."
"It caught on. Because politicians aren't just given nicknames. They earn them. At some point, a nickname engages the public imagination with an almost audible click -- Old Hickory, The Rail Splitter, Tricky Dick, The Great Communicator ... and, of course, Slick Willie."
"So who really created Slick Willie? That's easy: Bill Clinton."

lovedaright...you ask:
"Why has the unit hunting Osama been stopped? Is anyone else outraged by this? Did we completely forget who was responsible for 9/11? What happened to wanted dead or alive?"
Why are you on the Left so determined to resurrect Osama from his obscurity and descent into meaninglessness, and elevate him back to the status of hero/martyr?
Nothing could be more damaging to Osama than to be publicly dismissed as not worth worrying about. If you think that such a public dismissal means no one cares about finding him, let's talk about some beachfront property in Nevada---according to Al, that's only a matter of time anyway, but I digress.
I hope that if he is still alive and is killed, no one learns about it. Why do anything that lifts him above his current role as has-been and coward. If you guys had your way, he'd still be treated like the most important man in the universe, and would still be attracting recruits and raking in money to support his cause. Right now he HAS no cause. He's an impotent old man scurrying from cave to cave trying to save his sorry butt.
raker, your Left obsession with a man wearing a military flight suit on a military flight is so childish....get over it. Unless you and some Queer Guys want to offer fashion advice for what a person should, and could, wear on a flight on a supersonic jet, just button it. As anyone, even Baba Wawa, flying on a fighter jet has to wear a flight suit, and as anyone who bothers to learn or care about the truth knows that, your incessant whining about this is wearing thin.
Your real problem with the flight suit is that Bush looked so good in it, and so natural---being a fighter pilot and all. You just loved Pres. Pudge waddling off the grannycopter in his elastic-waisted track suit, in his 29 aircraft carrier landings---good for you. But don't begrudge us a president who has the manly parts to come in on a tailhook landing, even as just a passenger. Maybe you'll all get lucky and get Howie in the office next time----I can imagine him screaming like a third-grade girl at landing on a carrier from ANYTHING---better make sure his pants are a dark color.
And try, just try, for a change, to learn why fighter pilots wear flight suits, and why their passengers have to wear them, too. It's not just a fashion statement.

Frawg Fawg,
From the Library of Congress Website...
"It is no exaggeration to say that on Sundays in Washington during the administrations of Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) and of James Madison (1809-1817) the state became the church. Within a year of his inauguration, Jefferson began attending church services in the House of Representatives. Madison followed Jefferson's example, although unlike Jefferson, who rode on horseback to church in the Capitol, Madison came in a coach and four. Worship services in the House--a practice that continued until after the Civil War--were acceptable to Jefferson because they were nondiscriminatory and voluntary. Preachers of every Protestant denomination appeared. (Catholic priests began officiating in 1826.) As early as January 1806 a female evangelist, Dorothy Ripley, delivered a camp meeting-style exhortation in the House to Jefferson, Vice President Aaron Burr, and a 'crowded audience.' Throughout his administration Jefferson permitted church services in executive branch buildings. The Gospel was also preached in the Supreme Court chambers."

Chabot.
Also I was wondering if anyone actually went to see An Inconvinient Truth? Or or just continue to site Dr. Lindzen and the Republican talking points?
Ok, Tim Sylvia vs. Rashad Evans...who wins?

Last night in utter disgust, I posted a comment on W's incessant "comical banter" in the political theater. I asked him to get his elbows off the podium and standup straight. I ask him at the minimum, to "act" statesman like. I ask him to cease and desist his lame jokes with leaders from other countries and the press.
We stand at the precipice of additional violence and bloodshed. The world economy stands in peril.
I commented that maybe, just maybe, a well written script will get him through G8 without additional embarrassment to himself and the country he represents.

Please God almighty help us.

raker13,
The problem the liberal left has with President Bush is that he SAYS WHAT HE THINKS in a "down to earth" way of speaking.
You are used to hearing a slick talking liberal tell you what you WANT TO HEAR in a polished speech that "sounds good to your ears."
Yes, that does get him in trouble at times with those who can not understand what he meant, and who are unable or refuse to comprehend even when it's explained to them.

The following report indicates that the SWIFT and other financial monitoring programs were openly discussed in house hearings and at the UN.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/13/AR2006071301635.html
"Why has the unit hunting Osama been stopped? Is anyone else outraged by this?"

This down-to-earth, real-joe talk doesn't do anything for me. As the leader of the free world I expect at the very least my president to be able to properly pronounce words, state metaphors correctly, and be able to handle a crowd's questions that haven't been hand-picked by his advisors.
Is that too much to ask?
All those weapons were transferred by Saddam to Syria in the months leading up to the Iraq invasion. -Nebraska Militia
From the Conservative Republican spin machine, you've just heard another installment of "Tell it enough times and it becomes truth".
Someone have iron clad proof of this? I'm getting sick and tired of hearing this tired fantasy that you Regressive Republicans seem to take as gospel. Let's have proof, real proof, something that you didn't get from a guy who got it from a far right wing web site who got it from a guy who has it on good authority that someone saw a document that said Saddam was thinking about shipping weapons to Syria with, or maybe it was without, Russian help.
Where's this "smoking gun" you guy's said you were going to have? Where's the one to one connection? huh?

I want to keep track of all the treasonous things the Lib's say during this campaign season, and then when we extend our lead in the House and Senate I say we prosecute these Lib's! They are destroying America!
"The president is not going to make military decisions for Israel," White House spokesman Tony Snow said.
Besides, Bush gots that month long vacation he needs to git to. Wouldn't want to spoil it.
Israel is bound and determined to "destroy" Hezbollah. It can't. An idea cannot be killed, it can only be softened. There go the Zionist's again using force to impose their will. Their actions over the past 2 weeks has shown not only how violent they are, but how stupid as well. Peace
"maf53, this "neocon" isn't. I more concerned about what is going to happen." -KttR
Sounds like something Jeremiah would post.

steve,
Israel withdrew from Lebanon 6 years ago and was promised by Lebanon and the UN that Hezbullah would be disarmed.
What peace can be established when Palestine refuses to acknowledge Israel's right to exist, and they and their state sponsors, Syria and Iran, are intent upon the destruction of Israel.
You spineless leftist aplogists for Muslim terrorism are responsible for perpetuating the violence in the Middle East.

Are you serious about negotiations, or were you being humorously sarcastic?
Now come on, Freedom, what do you think?
The bigger point I was trying to make when I Googled "Historic + Nogotiated + Peace is that there have never been any. Peace is only achieved through VICTORY!!! That Google only found one match and it was from a Star Treck movie was just icing on the cake. You can't get better irony than that. The only Google search that I can remember that was funnier is Great French Naval Victories, heh, heh.
TEO,
Repeating...

Mark, you never told me what law says that there should be no separation between church and state.

Frawg Fawg,
From the Library of Congress Website...
