Suspect In India Train Bombing Linked to al-Qaeda

MSNBC reports...

Indian intelligence believes the attacks on Mumbai’s commuter train network on Tuesday, killing scores during the evening rush hour, might be the work of Dawood Ibrahim, an Indian Muslim with ties to al-Qaida.

Ibrahim is believed to have been responsible for the 1993 attacks that killed 260 in Mumbai, India’s commercial hub formerly known as Bombay.

Wait! Liberals said that al Qaeda was only in Afghanistan. How could this be?

Posted by: CJ [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 11, 2006 11:43 PM

Wait! Conservatives said that al Qaeda has been rendered ineffective since 9/11. How could this be?

Sorry CJ, but I just couldn't help responding to one ludicrous notion with another.

Posted by: Ricorun [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 12:06 AM

That doesn't suprise me at all (both the asinine comments and the actual topic).

India has been fighting against Pakistan, a Muslim (and I believe Sunni, but correct me if I am wrong) nation, for the last 50 years. In fact, it suprises me that it took them this long to attack India like this in the first place.

This just goes to show that we are not their only enemy (by we I mean americans). We can't win this WOT until we convert the crazies, the wahabiists, and the islamists to the tenets of modernism and rationality. We also need to get tough on our "allies" that support those bad ideologies *cough*saudi arabia*cough*.

"This just goes to show that we are not their only enemy (by we I mean americans)." by: Georgia Frawg

Of course not. Islamists are at war with ALL non-Muslims. Islamists have had a particularly bloody history waging genocidal war on the polytheist Hindus.

I'd love to cut ties with Saudi Arabia, tomorrow. Our oil money goes to finance Wahabbi Muslim killers.

This combined with china, japan, afghanistan, Israel, North Korea could mean trouble for the whole world, world war three!!

The world is definitely in a terrible shape!!

Jeremiah

Agreed Jeremiah! When will the libgressives finally admit that al-Qaeda is everywhere? I suppose the latest batch of terrorists deserve therapy and understanding. Our Supreme Court (unelected, black-robed tyrants) will accept nothing less!

As someone smarter than me recently said:

Five ropes, five robes, five trees.
Some assembly required.

Heh, indeedy.

Don't be sorry, your comment is incoherent like all liberals on this site.

I've asked on several occasions here why the leftists wanted al Qaeda to set up shop in Iraq? They didn't want us going after Zarqawi and his fellow terrorists when they fled Afghanistan in 2002. What is there reasoning for wanting al Qaeda to have a safe haven in Iraq to plan and carry out terrorist attacks?

This latest attack just goes to show that al Qaeda is losing power. Terrorism is in its final throes.

CJ said: "Don't be sorry, your comment is incoherent like all liberals on this site."

Boy, I knew I was going to get labeled for that one, lol! But my comment was meant to be incoherent (I prefer the word "snarky"), and it was meant to point out that you can't have it both ways and still be right.

In other words, either the GWOT has reaped benefits in terms of a reduction of al-Qaeda and al-Qaeda-inspired attacks, or it has not.

So I ask you, CJ... which is it?

And Frawg, do you think the attack in India, coming just after the ink was dry (actually, it isn't yet dry) on the nuclear accord between them and us was just a coincidence? Up until then, al-Qaeda had no beef with India. However, if you've kept your nose to the ground you'd also know that their influence in Pakistan has been waning. Consider this attack a double-whammy.

CJ:

Hahaha! You're kidding, right? Obviously it's to make President Bush look bad. Liberals thrive on bad news in the War on Terror. It's all they have. If President Bush can be painted as weak by the LLL MSM, neorads hope to cash in at the polls come 2006 and 2008. How can the Republicans look bad compared to the cut and run DemoRats?

Another rhetorical question. Let me answer it. They can't. Libgressives have no plan. They will try to exploit the body count and non-issue issues for political gain. But it won't work.

For the libs, the only good soldier is a dead soldier. Pathetic, isn't it? The enemy within is without shame. They must be marginalized. Come to think of it, they already are!

Posted by: Bob Arctor [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 02:41 AM

Not only marginalized but mocked and ridiculed at every opportunity.

I completely reject the idiotic and ridiculous premise. To your far left extremist view attacks are supposed to go down during war. God help us all if the left ever regains power!

In what universe are you living? You must know, even if you can't bring yourself to admit it, that this administration is one of the biggest failures in American history. It is pitiful the way the faithful supporters of this regime continue to worship at the church of Bush, day after day, debacle after debacle. What will it take to bring you back to reality?

Posted by: Canadian Observer [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 08:50 AM

Just more rhetoric without one fact. Is that all you kooks have?

Posted by: CJ [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 08:53 AM

Canuck,
You describe President Bush and his administration just the same way libs described President Reagan during his 8 years in the White House.

Fortunately American history has a way of bringing into focus the truth after being obscured by liberal lies.

Back on topic.

It is no surprise the bombers were muslims paying homage to allah. So this same guy killed hundreds in 93'...looks like India was using the Clinton "blue dress" approach to terroism

Posted by: Nebraska Militia [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 09:59 AM

Bring the terror level back down to pink...or salmon...or whatever its equivalent is when dealing with brown people.

India is looking for Kashmir sepratists, not your uber-Bogeymen of AQ. Sorry to dissapoint you.

Posted by: Third Eye Open [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 12, 2006 03:07 PM

Make fun of the terror level all you want, blinded eye closed. Must be easy considering you want us to lose the War on Terror. Al Qaeda is not just my enemy, it's yours too. Why can't you libgressives understand this?

Obviously if sKerry were in charge the terror color would be white, as in surrender, or yellow as in cut and run cowardly.

Posted by: Bob Arctor at July 12, 2006 10:29 PM

TEO, those Kashmir separatists are Muslims, you know. Same jihad against the infidels, different geographical front.

LGF-"The Times of India says the Mumbai train bombings were perpetrated by the Islamic supremacist group Lashkar-e-Toiba, cooperating with the Students Islamic Movement of India: 'LeT, SIMI hand in Mumbai blasts'.

Times of India NEW DELHI: The terror attack on Mumbai trains was carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba and local Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists and was designed to trigger communal conflagration in the country’s financial capital, intelligence sources said.

Half of all liberals are ecoterrorists, It's really a shame that we have people in America who hate us this much, and TEO puts me in the mind of one when he says, "put the security alert back to pink" huh, what foolishness! I believe liberals have no heart whatsoever!

Jeremiah

Posted by: Jeremiah [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 13, 2006 09:20 AM

Freedom,

The point is that to tie everything done in the vain of Islamic militants is not AQ. At some point we will make this group into a force much bigger than their capabilities. Every time we instantly confuse a militant group with AQ we make their profile that much larger, and help them recruit.

These folks are the same sepratists that have been fighting in Kashmir for 15 years, the links to AQ are wishful thinking and paper thin at best. These animals need to be dealt with, but not everything in this world perpetrated by a muslim is automatically associated with some world-wide AQ conspiracy.

I actually agree with you, TEO. (I'm shocked! What's the world coming to???)
:)

TEO-"These folks are the same sepratists that have been fighting in Kashmir for 15 years, the links to AQ are wishful thinking and paper thin at best."

Hmm. I've heard that Wahabbists have recently had some kind of contact with these Kashmiris (not just financing). (Don't quote me on that. I've only heard rumors.) I'm still waiting for more confirmation on AQ's possible involvement. The M.O. of these attacks was very reminiscent of Al Qaeda.

TEO-"These animals need to be dealt with, but not everything in this world perpetrated by a muslim is automatically associated with some world-wide AQ conspiracy."

True. I could list a bunch of other Islamic terrorist groups from around the world like Hamas, Hezbollah, Abu Sayaf (sp), Islamic jihad, etc, etc, etc.
