Dear Mr. Bush,

I sincerely hope you have the best of 60th birthdays, and you get everything you've asked for.

May the men and women of the military who will never see another birthday with their family and friends, and the ones who will live every day with horrible wounds from your actions, not bother your little party, too much.

Hugs and Kisses,

ME

happy b'day W!

lets see, what to get the man, hummmm...oh I know - UBL's head gift-wrapped in a box.

Dear Fearless Leader,

A happy 60th birthday to you. Let's hope you don't roll-up what's left of the constitution for some late-night antics like the 'good ol' days.

Bearhugs and a three-cheney salute!

Dear Mr. President,

Congras on turning 60! Really hope that the men and women you've sent to die for no reason don't disrupt your special day, you good-for-nothing phony.

Here's a list of things I hope you recieve on your special day:

-a brain, cause God knows you're not the sharpest tool in the shed.

-a heart, so you could show compassion for the 2500 dead soldiers you've sent to Iraq for no just cause.

-the US Constitution, you know the "damn piece of paper"; try actuallly reading it sometime instead of pissing all over it.

-the Bible, so you can learn how to be a Christian instead of hiding behind the Cross.

Again, happy 60th, you low-life bastard.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Holmes

TEO--
You forgot, for good measure, all the world's AIDS victims and the people who died in New Orleans because of his incompetence and the 3000 dead on 9-11 because he didn't heed Clinton's warnings and, oh yes, the CHILDREN who are dying because they can't afford health care...Hopefully he has just a WONDERFUL birthday, assuming he can look at himself in the mirror.

On the other hand, maybe his birthday will be happy when he recounts how many American lives have been preserved hale and hardy due to his (formerly) secret plans to foil the plans of would-be terrorists, and how many free Afghans and Iraqis, especially girls and women, are enjoying life today because of his steadfast courage.

"Sincerely," you wish? You're about as sincere as the Clintons, as sincere in the support of the troops as John Murtha, as sincere in your love of country as Michael Moore.

Adrian,

I hate to be a wet-blanket, but it seems like you don't keep up with the news that isn't on FOX. I emplore you to read the WHOLE cable that was released by the WP, it is very enlightening about what REALLY goes on, day-to-day outside of the greenzone.

Terrorism is at an all time high, Americans are despised, world-wide, and we continue to be stuck in a war we don't control...doesn't seem very secure to me.

"Womens Rights

2. (SBU) The Public Affairs Press Office has 9 local Iraqi employees. Two of our three female employees report stepped up harassment beginning in mid-May. One, a Shiite who favors Western clothing, was advised by an unknown woman in her upscale Shiite/Christian Baghdad neighborhood to wear a veil and not to drive her own car. Indeed, she said, some groups are pushing women to cover even their face, a step not taken in Iran even at its most conservative.

3. (SBU) Another, a Sunni, said that people in her middle-class neighborhood are harassing women and telling t h em to cover up and stop using cell phones (suspected channel to licentious relationships with men). She said that the taxi driver who brings her every day to the green zone checkpoint has told her he cannot let her ride unless she wears a headcover. A female in the PAS cultural section is now wearing a full abaya after receiving direct threats in May. She says her neighborhood, Mhamiya, is no longer permissive if she is not clad so modestly.

4. (SBU) These women say they cannot identify the groups that are pressuring them many times. the cautions come from other women, sometimes from men who they say could be Sunni or Shiite, but appear conservative. They also tell us that some ministries, notably the Sadrist controlled Ministry of Transportation, have been forcing fem1es to wear the hijab at work. Dress Code for All?

5. (SBU) Staff members have reported that it is now dangerous for men to wear shorts in public; they no longer allow their children to play outside tn shorts. People who wear jeans in public have come under attack from what staff members describe as Wahabis and Sadrists."

"Accounts like Madina's are repeated across Afghanistan, doctors and human rights workers say. They are discovering more and more young women who have set themselves on fire, desperate to escape the cruelties of family life and harsh tribal traditions that show no sign of changing despite the end of Taliban rule and the dawn of democracy.

Doctors and nurses in Kabul and Jalalabad say they have seen more cases recently, partly because the population has been swollen by the return of two million refugees and because cases are being tracked for the first time by rights groups, hospitals and the government."

Happy B-day Dubya!

I hope someone gives you the following:
The good sense to avoid involving any of your fellow countrymen and women in foreign wars that we cannot win, and that are costly and detrimental to national security, and to extricate our nation from the foreign wars that we cannot win and that are costly to our national security that we are already entrenched in.
Pls. remember in the future that you work for us, we don't work for you-that is the definition of a public servant.
Try to remember that you were elected by the American people, not corporate America, even if they did contribute heavily to your re-election campaign.
My best hope for you is that you will fulfill your campaign promise to unite America-so far that has not exactly panned out due to the tactics of your right-hand man, Karl Rove. Bills like the flag-burning amendment, marriage amendment, censure of the NYT may incite your base but they are harmfully divisive for our beloved America.
Just because the press writes stories that you find embarassing does not mean that freedom of the press should be stifled. If there were not so many embarassing incidents to report, they would have nothing bad to say. Remember the wise words of that flaming liberal, Thomas Jefferson:
"Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."
Finally, I will admit that you have made some progress in the realm of diplomacy. Thank you for having the grace to admit your mistakes in that area-that was your strongest moment, imo.
Best Regards,
A tax-paying liberal citizen who still believes in the constitution's separation of powers and checks and balances.
P.S. Its never too late to confess about the 2000 election-confession is good for the soul!

Dear Jonathan,
Please enlighten me. How does one learn to be a Christian without hiding behind the cross?

If you're not a Christian, what gives you the right to tell a Christian whether they're a good Christian or not?

Posted by: adriandrews [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 11:41 AM

Kritter,
Why don't you explain your vision of a "united America?" You liberals complain about and dismiss as fascist, kooky, or intolerant any deviation from your worldview. You want unity, as long as everyone agrees with you and that Supreme Court decisions enact for you what you cannot enact through the legislative branch. Go ahead, describe what your "unity" looks like.

The SWIFT story was not about embarrassment. It was about intentionally revealing national security secrets, despite their legality, despite the members of both parties, including John Murtha, urging the NY Times not to print it. And, I'm sorry, but pulling out old Jefferson quotations out of context? Pretty lame. It sounds pithy, but in reality, would you like a society with no government but had plenty of journalists? It sounds asinine.

As far as confession about the 2000 election: you and Gore go first. Tell us about trying to exclude military votes, for example. If you liberals were really about honest and fair elections, you wouldn't be so opposed to anti-fraud legislation or voter ID acts.

Adrian,

If you're not a woman, what gives you the right to tell someone they are a bad woman?

I'll answer your question, when you are a human being, who reads "thou shalt not kill" it's pretty evident anything otherwise makes you a bad representation of the ideals of Christ; you don't have to be perfect, but you can atleast avoid the big no-no's

Posted by: Third Eye Open [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 12:09 PM

TEO, BTW the commandment "Thou shall not kill", the original meaning was lost in translation. In the original Hebrew word for "kill" means murder. Why the translators translated it that way I don't know. So if I where to kill someone in self defense I would not be breaking a commandment. If I kill an enemy in battle I am not breaking a commandment. You may argue that point but so be it.

TL:

You never cease to amaze with your wit and charm. You are truly an inspiration to everyone in this fine country. I hope my children grow up to be just like you. Maybe you can teach me how to get so wound up about someone while still managing to make a sound argument. Keep up the good work! You are truly a man for others! I think we can all learn from John Holmes (nice porno reference by the way).

Back on the subject, Happy Birthday, GW!
Thanks for making this country great enough where people like Teenie can spew hate-filled garbage and not have to suffer inhuman torture like the millions of recently freed Iraqi citizens.

I end with that and just sit back and watch TEO, AXIS, ASH, and Kritter go to work with their nonsense.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President. My son, born last year, shares your middle name in honor of your service to this country. You are an honorable, just, and forthright Christian man, and I wish that my son will grow up to espouse those very values as well.

Posted by: Bret Helm at June 29, 2006 01:32 PM

TEO
God instituted human government for the express purpose of defending life and property against evildoers. The responsbility of defense includes using any force necessary to accomplish that mission, up to and including the waging of just war and the execution of those meriting the ultimate penalty. Mr. Bush, in waging war, is operating not under the proscription of murder, but under the prescription of the defensive mission of government.

Posted by: adriandrews [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 01:39 PM

Happy Birthday, Mr. President. My son, born nearly 11 months ago, shares your middle name in your honor. You are doing a great service for this nation. I only hope that my son will grow up to share your integrity, honor, forthrightness, and fear of God.

KttR,

If you wanna parse words, then the term "Elohim" is a plural tense, so therefore the term that NKJ reads as God, is actually Gods.

Adrian,

The Bible also says that men, are men of laws, Bush did not follow the laws of this land; You cannot walk into someone's house, with false information, shoot them, and then claim you THOUGHT you were defending yourself.

Posted by: Third Eye Open [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 02:04 PM

Happy Birthday President Bush and many, many more.
I would take this time, to say "Thank You" for having the morals, respect of women, protecting
Americans that risk Terrorism in their own back yards, stepping up to the plate that You inherited
from former inept Presidents(both Clintons/Gore)
that let this problem rest on your shoulders, that
truly are broad. I know along with many Americans, the respect you have from our military
men and women in working to keep Americans safe in
our Country, is unmatched-prior to you, the morale
was at an all time low. Keep up the good fight, as I am sure the country is behind you and it will show at the next elections, regardless of how the MSM tries to slant what is really going on, and those "trumped up polls, that you (Thank God) don't pay attention to anyway, as you are far too busy, running the Country. Thank You again, For All That You Do For Our Safety and Way
Of Life.

Saying anything good about the President is like turning over a rock---you just know what is going to come slithering out. And sure enough, we got the constantly-agape third eye spewing, the teen aged liberal sneering, all the Usual Suspects. And what were their messages?

That they are hate-filled, miserable, joyless creatures, who willfully choose to wallow in ignorance and falsehood, for reasons only a psychiatric professional might ever understand.

That their only goals in life are to gloat over their negativity, to brag about their ignorance, and to revel in their intellectual dishonesty.

On the other hand, they clearly are incapable of recognizing character and integrity, so I probably should not be so hard on them. What they cannot see in their mirrors, they cannot see in others.

But this thread is an opportunity to say Happy Birthday to our President, not an invitation to peek into the deepest and darkest recesses of sick minds.

I am glad the President is hale and hearty, in good health, and surrounded by a loving family. I hope he knows how deeply he is regarded by those not blinded by willful determination to loathe what they cannot understand.

And most of all, I am glad he is our President, glad he was willing to make the personal sacrifices he's had to make to give us the honest, sincere, and inspiring leadership he has offered us since 2001. I am sure he would prefer to be back in Texas, with his family, and not bearing the burdens his office imposes on him.

So I say Happy Birthday, Mr. President, and many more.

Posted by: Almiranta [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 06:08 PM

Adrian- Maybe you don't remember GW's campaign promises, but I do. He promised to be a uniter-but has been a decider and a divider. Do you think FDR purposely tried to divide the country during WWII or the depression? Did he try to lead in fear or hope? Bush has chosen to divide us and lead in fear at the very moment we most need to unite as a country and have hope for the future.

Also, don't fall out of your chair, but I support voter fraud initiatives and voter ID cards. Another stereotype bites the dust.

Finally, you can put my quotes down from the founding fathers, but they were wise men, who foresaw that a lack of checks and balances or a free press would destroy us. I believe that is in the process of happening, thanks to the birthday boy. Ta ta for now
