Cindy Sheehan Plans Two-Month Hunger Strike

Of all the dumb things... If she wants to try... well, that's her problem... but trust me, she won't be fasting for two months.

This deserves a big *Eye Roll* ! Please.
I agree...Of all the dumb things...

Posted by: proudUSAFwife at June 28, 2006 05:37 PM

I wonder if it will last any longer than Saddam's?

Posted by: CJ [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 05:39 PM

If she was really serious she would do a permanent one. Of course, then the liberals would force feed her with a feeding tube because she is "worth" keeping alive all the while the urinate on Terry Schiavo's wishes...oh the hypocrisy.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 05:39 PM

This blog is obsessed more with who - Cindy Sheehan or Al Gore? I say it's a toss-up.

They fear Gore a whole lot more though, that's for sure. After all, he will be the next President.

Gore/Feingold 2008!!

But leave Cindy alone. What did she ever do to you?

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 05:47 PM

maf, and a close third obsession is John Kerry.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 05:51 PM

The things this woman will do to get the cameras turned back on her... She will be eating in her tent, there will be no fast. Then she will have an epiphany that Casey came to her in a dream and wanted her to live to continue her good work.

But let's say she does go through with this. When it fails to have an effect, and it will fail, she will spin it by saying that having an end date publicized made it so people did not take her seriously. Kind of like giving terrorists a withdrawal date. No one will do anything for her because we know she will be eating again soon.

besides, it's her body. I thought the left believed in a womans right to choose. Starving herself is one of the freedoms her son fought for...

Posted by: MagicalPat [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 05:58 PM

I could stand to go on a hunger strike. This mid-life spare tire is getting out of control.

OK, here goes. I'm not going to eat until the liberal posters here find five positive things to say about George Bush.

Though, I might starve to death.

Posted by: Kahn [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 06:05 PM

"OK, here goes. I'm not going to eat until the liberal posters here find five positive things to say about George Bush."

Liberals say something positive about someone who hasn't gone to France to bash the US? Not likely...

"Gore/Feingold 2008!!

But leave Cindy alone. What did she ever do to you?"

Are you Batman? You sound like you live in a cave. Liberals don't seem to care much about our troops or they wouldn't be propping up this anti-military, pro-terrorist idiot every other day. Am I talking about Gore or Cindy? Who knows! Maybe im talking about Gore. Maybe im talking about Cindy. Will we ever find out? Who knows! Who cares, they're both the same.

Posted by: Jonathan [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 06:30 PM

Eww wait a second, why are you reading michael moron's website Matt? Why not get our info from a toilet; at least it would have more credibility.

Posted by: Jonathan [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 06:34 PM

didnt she give up custody of her son that died overseas...and hadnt talked to him in years? and didnt she gave up custody of another minor son so she could travel around the USA spouting her BS?

im looking for "links" to back this up. but i have heard this a number of times.

anyone?

Posted by: proudUSAFwife at June 28, 2006 06:48 PM

I'll get back to you on that Kahn.

his blog is obsessed more with who - Cindy Sheehan or Al Gore?

It's "whom," not "who." Sorry, but you moonbats are supposed to be the intellectuals.

If Cindy fasts for that long, her already prominent nose will look gigantic!

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 07:14 PM

Well ya know, Cindy really could lose some weight. In that light I wonder how much this hunger strike really has to do with W.

Somewhat parenthetically, but also somewhat on the subject, my fiancee's daughter recently started a diet. As a result of that, my fiancee started one as well. I think she looks fine -- more than fine, in fact. But apparently that's not my call. More to the point, I love her. And in every respect that matters to me I think she's a beautiful person. In spite of all that, I'm thinkin' y'all can guess what happens next, right? I'm gonna get sucked into this diet thing one way or another. And I haven't even gotten home yet!

Just in case my snarkiness passed you by, my feeling is that this is a very small price to pay for peace (and yes, I spelled it right, lol!). But isn't it funny how the choices and compromises one makes in one's personal life often mirrors those in one's political awareness?

People are people, ya know?

Posted by: Ricorun [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 07:20 PM

to accuse this blog of being obsessed with Gore, Kerry, or Sheehan you'd have to admit that liberal blogs are obsessed with George W. Bush and Karl Rove.

i'm thinking you don't though.

"LEAVE CINDY ALONE"

Isn't this just the classic thing that Ann Coulter was talking about. "Don't question our people that are grieving from talking...they are unimpeachable"

Yeah right. Anyone care to remind Cindy that her son volunteered for the military and then VOLUNTEERED again to go back a second time. He is the hero, not sure what Cindy is other than someone that should leave her son's memory alone.

Thanks for proving Coulter's point Maf...right on cue!

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 08:01 PM

Umm... why are we talking about her? I've asked this every time someone brings her up. Who cars what this lady does? Seriously what's the point?

Maybe when she "takes on Feingold" for her senate seat she'll be worth talking about but this? It's a non-starter.

Posted by: Gozer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 08:14 PM

Please, please, please, please make it Feingold / Gore

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 08:14 PM

"The things this woman will do to get the cameras turned back on her..."
Well, she could hold a "Screw Abstinence" demonstration since she is such a whore...for the media that is....Heheheheheheh War
Posted by: Macker [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 08:14 PM

Ricorun: LOL!

Warriornation: Excellent!

If Michael Moore joins in this hunger strike and stays on it for two months, I'll write "Liberals Rule" 100 times on this blog.

Posted by: kimberly4bush [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 08:16 PM

Cindy who?

Posted by: Scott at June 28, 2006 09:08 PM

"Isn't this just the classic thing that Ann Coulter was talking about." - War

You're wrong on this one, War Lover. This isn't what Coulter was talking about (and to an extent, I agreed with her point otherwise). Cindy Sheehan is going on a hunger strike to oppose the war - that's all. Umm, who cares?

Why do you, personally, care that she's doing this - only because she is against Bush & the War, that's why. Question her politics all you like (all of you have done your fair share, I am sure).

But if she doesn't get a headstone for her son's grave, or if she decides to go on a hunger strike to oppose the war ... then who the hell cares?

I'll be eagerly awaiting your reply, thank you.

PS - Gore/Feingold WILL win ... just like Gore/Leiberman did.

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 09:33 PM

No Maf, you misunderstood. It's not Cindy she's railing against, it's you liberals that defend Cindy and Murtha and everyone else. You guys are the ones that scream "leave Cindy alone" or "Jack was a war hero so he can't be questioned".

That is the issue.

Gore / Lieberman won....only in your head young man. Only in your head. The US Constitution, which you keep citing, said otherwise.

Finally, I question Sheehan because her son joined the military and then RE-ENLISTED. Her son went to war, her son volunteered, her son felt it was the right thing to do. So if she wants to protest the war, fine...just leave Casey out of it. He's dead and his voice cannot be heard, but his ACTIONS were heard. HIS ACTIONS meant volunteering. HIS ACTIONS mean re-enlisting. Why is she bringing HIM into the argument?

I await YOUR answer.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 09:56 PM

War,

I said - I actually *agree* with Coulter. There is no moral authority in this war, whether you served, your son served, or whatever. All opinions are open to debate. That's the way it should be, on both sides of the aisle. If you disagree with her stance about the war (which obviously you do), then voice it all you want. I couldn't care less.

And I *agree* with you that she shouldn't be "speaking" for her son. He joined, he re-enlisted, that was his choice - she shouldn't be questioning *his* choices in a public forum, that's for sure.

Now ... I believe it is all the Conservatives saying, "Well I know a guy over in Iraq, and he says things are going just fine, so don't question the President, he knows what he's doing..." We can't question the boys over there ... because they're over there (or have been there before). That's not right. It's the same thing you're accusing the left side of. Don't be a hyporcrite.

Look, I'm not the biggest Sheehan fan. I'm just saying that if she wants to go on a hunger strike to oppose the war, then more power to her. And her son's headstone is none..of..your..business.

How can you not see that?

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 10:24 PM

Her headstone is none of my business....her trashing of the President and troops that are currently there...is!

But I will say this...do you not believe the words of soldiers ACTUALLY THERE and living it DAILY is a bit more REAL then John Murtha 8000 miles away, or Ted Kennedy who has NEVER been there or Cindy Sheehan that has NEVER faced a bullet in her life?

These guys are there, living it every day. Or when Iraqis say things are much better than the media is reporting...doesn't their views since they are THERE count more?

I think a common sense approach would say yes!

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 10:40 PM

Go, Cindy, go ....

while you're at it, how bout a two month "comment" strike, too?

I mean, the rest of us could use two months of "Sheehan-free" politics.

Posted by: BD [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 28, 2006 10:43 PM

I heard Cindy did ask Michael Moore to formally join her with the fast. Mike immediately pulled up his shirt to show his enormously extended gut, and laughed at the proposition saying ''I'm carrying your baby Cindy, and you want me to starve it...my conscience will not allow it and I cannot join you in this mission!"

Sadly Cindy agreed but gained some satisfaction when she got old Mike to sign an agreement that the baby wouldn't be named ''Fahrenheit''!

Posted by: dickdee at June 29, 2006 12:07 AM

I would think all those retired Generals have a better idea of what's going on that any ordinary soldier - they can see the big picture.

It doesn't matter though - everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Even Cindy Sheehan.

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 01:02 AM

Hopefully she'll die sooner than later

sorry for being blunt - Mel

Well so much for the compassionate conservative angle.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 01:19 AM

Sounds like just the latest attempt by the media to "revive Cindy Sheehan."

Each time she begins to fade away into a distant memory, where she belongs, her liberal handlers and media come up with yet another way to try and breathe new life into their dying media icon.

A real hunger strike or fast is going without food. A person can live 4 to 6 weeks with water but with no food. If that holds true for Sheehan, she would likely be joining the dinosaurs and dodo birds -- extinct -- 2 to 4 weeks before she reaches her 8 week goal!

Anyone want to bet that Sheehan will be drinking "liquid nourishment" of some type in addition to water. That's not a real fast. That's a media stunt!

Sheehan could also wrap herself in an American flag...

Posted by: AAR [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 01:20 AM

Maf..."all those retired generals"...you mean the 6 out of several thousand that made the statement they did?

yeah...uhm not a winning argument for you. Might want to put that one back in your pocket.

Yes...Cindy is entitled to her opinion, just stop using her son in tow as part of that opinion...her son SUPPORTED the war effort which is why she looks so damn stupid.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 01:20 AM

Ash,

I thought we scrapped that "compassionate conservative" slogan.

I did anyway. I never did like that phrase.

hm...........list of failed liberals:
Cindy Sheehan
Michael Moore
Al Gore
Tom Daschle
Howard Dean
John Murtha
Harry Reid
Ted Kennedy
John Edwards
& last but not least,
John Kerry!
This list could go on & on but I'm already tired of it! Why are we wasting good thread on the threadbare, laughingstock, failed hero's of a failed party!

Posted by: bearmanUSMC [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 29, 2006 03:05 AM

Just another publicity stunt. She's tried everything else. Her media advisors have probably advised her that the next logical step is a hunger strike. Anybody with any sense knows she doesn't really care about the war in Iraq. She's just a media whore and an ass clown who is enjoying her fifteen minutes of fame. When people start ignoring her, she will recede into the oblivion she so richly deserves.

Posted by: Allen at June 29, 2006 07:45 AM

maf says:
"PS - Gore/Feingold WILL win ... just like Gore/Leiberman did."

From your lips to God's ears, maf.

BTW, I'm still trying to track down the NYT article written by one of Gore's lawyers in the post-electon frenzy in Florida. He wrote a very moving and convincing letter about how, after 9/11, he was profoundly grateful that Bush won. He fought like crazy for Gore, he held news conferences and filed suit after suit to try to get Gore into the Presidency. But he said he knew all the players in Gore's world, all those from whom Gore would have chosen his cabinet, ahd he knew Gore himself---and he absolutely believed, with his whole heart, that Gore simply would not have been capable of handling a post-9/11 America.

But the best thing about the article was the part where he admitted that he, and the others, never really thought Gore had WON Florida. They knew he hadn't. But at the time they thought he would be a better President, so they felt justified in filing their suits, making their claims, and looking for a way to get Bush out of the picture.

It was an unusually candid article, coming from a Democrat, and it also offered a peek into the minds of the Dems, the thought process that says they have some special RIGHT to lie, to cheat, and to even steal an election, based on their incredible arrogant conviction that they simply know better than we do how this country should be run.
