Supreme Court To Take On Partial Birth Abortion

Yesterday, the Supreme Court said it would expand its review of the federal partial-birth abortion ban. The question that is sure to be in everyone's mind is "How will Roberts and Alito vote?"

While Democrats whined that the federal marriage amendment was a divisive issue being used by Bush and the Republicans to appease their conservative base, during the confirmation hearings of John Roberts and Samuel Alito, no issue was more divisive than abortion, and the Democrats were absolutely pandering to their base with every single attack on both of those highly qualified judges, both of whom should have been confirmed with over 90 votes.

Nevertheless, Roberts and Alito are on the Supreme Court, and the pro-abortion groups like NARAL and Planned Parenthood are scared. Imagine that... they are fighting hard to keep a procedure that involves delivering a baby, except for it's head, jamming scissors into the baby's skull, and suctioning the baby's brain out. This, is what the left calls "choice."

Well, "choice" is a funny thing. George W. Bush had a choice when he nominated John Roberts and Samuel Alito. Now on the Supreme Court, these Justices will have a say on this issue.

Justice Kennedy seems pretty solid in his position against the barbaric and gruesome practice of Partial-birth abortion. The question in my mind is, just how far will the justices go when they "expand the review?" All the way to...GASP...Roe itself?

partial birth is reasonable even to those of us who feel a total ban is not.

Don't be so hard on partial birth abortion--Ash, axis, Barney, minnowhead, congressive, DAV, maf53, and teenage liberal are all survivors of the practice. Their brains were removed, but they survived...

Those chickens**ts at NARAL don't have the 'nads to hold those massive Screw Abstinence rallies like they were supposed to do when Roberts and Alito were nominated to SCOTUS.
All that organization is good for is to advocate copulation simply for the sake of copulation, and to Hell with any babies they create.
This. Has. Got. To. STOP!

This old saw? Partial birth abortions are virtually non-existent, but that wont stop the conservatives from dragging it out again when they need a good wedge issue to charge up the faithful. It always works, but let's face it, it's just a stunt.

Extramedium,

Tell that to the child who just had his/her brains sucked out of its skull, that the procedure is almost never used.

extra-average, it is impossible to determine exactly how many patial birth abortions take place in this country every year. Simply because abortionists refsue to release those figures.

The pro-abortion industry prefers to fall back on the vague and meaningless generality that they are "virtually non-existent" and therefore we don't need to think about them, or talk about them, or legislate them. We should just let the experts at baby-killing keep on doing what they do best, with no oversight or intervention.

The fact is that not one single partial birth abortion is, or can be, justified.

Health of the mother? Oh, PULEEZE... When a woman would be endangered by giving birth, the baby is removed surgically. Any woman, and I mean ANY WOMAN, who would or could be endangered in any way by allowing childbirth to proceed would be the absolute LAST candidate for a partial birth abortion.

The procedure is very hard on the woman. First, she has to have labor induced, and induced labor is always more intense and more painful. Then she has to have the "doctor" physically manipulate the child by reaching in through the cervix, to position it so it will be born feet-first. Again, this is no picnic for the pregnant woman (who can in no way be called a "mother"). And finally, a breech, or feet-first, delivery is more difficult than a normal, head-first delivery.

So then the question: If she has gone this far, why not let the little fellow slip out that last four or five inches? 99% of the childbirth has been accomplished at that point, and all the hard work has been done. The labor is nearly finished, not even requiring one more contraction to let the head exit the birth canal.

The only reason is that she wants the baby to be dead. And the law allows it. And the pro-abortion industry promotes it.

I've heard that this is only done when the baby could not live anyway. So, let it out and let it die naturally. It can be kept pain free if it is truly doomed. I've been told it is only done when the baby is severely deformed. This is not true, as nurses who have participated in the process will testify. And the claim about it being to save the life of the woamn are simply preposterous. A quick C-section would have that baby out in a matter of a very few minutes, pain-free, contraction-free. The only problem with a C-section is that the baby might breathe, and keeping the baby from breathing is the sole goal. The sole goal of the pregnant woman, that is.

The goal of the abortionist is profit.

This is big business, and that fact is always conveniently overlooked or ignored when the topic comes up. We have some people having their own children killed for convenience, and others doing the killing for profit, and we just stand by and let it happen.

Oh, and the political element that supports this disgrace is the same one that prides itself on having "hands free of the blood of innocents" because it is against war. How anyone can claim to hold the Higher Moral Ground while actively supporting and promoting the wholesale slaughter of the most innocent among us is simply inexplicable.
