The Dem Agenda: Impeachment

What do the Democrats stand for these days? Besides higher taxes, taxpayer funded abortion on demand, socialized health care, open borders and ending the war on terror? Over the past few years they've certainly complained about anything and everything... but when it comes to an agenda for their party the only thing that seems to be a priority for them is impeachment. Impeachment for what? For leading the war on terror and having the gall to want to wiretap terrorists.

They are back tracking like crazy on this right now because they don't want to be seen as impeachment folks, but most definitely that is what Conyers and the crazies want.

They know that won't sell in the mainstream of America so you will see Pelosi and crew say "no, no we wouldn't dream of that".

Don't believe it, that's exactly what they want and so do their blindly faithful followers here.

Am I wrong, or don't you have to have a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate for impeachment?

I think I'll go do some research...

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 08:42 PM

The entire Bush Crime Family should be charged with war crimes as well. Let's not let them off with just impeachment.

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 08:59 PM

Right Maf...that's the ticket. Keep talking that way, we want mainstream American to keep hearing you guys talk like that.

It will really help the cause of the left...keep talking that way. Do not stop.

keefer...articles for impeachment come from simple majority of the House. Then the Senate does the trial where you need 2/3 of the Senate to convict.

With Clinton he was impeached but acquitted by the Senate without a full trial.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:09 PM

By the way, with Clinton 206 people (almost all Democrats) actually voted that he didn't perjure himself. Apparently DNA cum stain wasn't good enough for them along with his comments and his eventual admission of guilt...still wasn't enough for them.

Ah yes, the party of ethics. What a joke the Democrats are.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:11 PM

Research finished--the House can impeach with a simple majority, but conviction requires a 2/3 vote in the Senate. Clinton was impeached on two counts, but the Senate didn't have the votes to convict.

If we lose the House, I think Conyers and his kooks will vote to impeach, but I don't think the Senate will convict. Maybe if they get their impeachment, they'd be happy.

I have a great idea: Let's not give 'em the chance...

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:17 PM

Sorry, warrior, I didn't read your post before I posted. That damned Google is a beyotch for research!!!

maf53, why are you even here on earth? You serve no worthy purpose, you useless piece of poop. Go jump in front of a train, a**hat!

Posted by: keefer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:20 PM

Mainstream America has King George in the tank, War Boy.

Which leads to you, Queefer - you don't stand a chance in November. Not a one. Well ... unless you manage to rig yet another election ...

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:21 PM

"That damned Google is a beyotch for research!!!" - Queefer.

Haha. That's a riot. Too old and senile to know how to use a search engine? Carry on ...

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:28 PM

Maf...what part of Canada are you from? What high school are you currently enrolled in?

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:35 PM

Good one, War Boy.

Come on, man - I was merely responding to this. What, you gonna pretend you didn't see it?

"maf53, why are you even here on earth? You serve no worthy purpose, you useless piece of poop. Go jump in front of a train, a**hat!"

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 09:41 PM

Maf..mainstream America elected George W. Bush President of the USA twice mostly because you guys cannot put up a candidate worth a squirt of piss and haven't for 31 years.

That's the last time a Democrat took 50% of the vote. Coming off Clinton, how in the hell could you guys lose that race? Pathetic. Mainstream America may not like Bush much, but that's usually in comparing him to the job itself. When it comes time to putting him up against anyone from the left, he always wins.

This is fairly typical, people get upset with the guy in charge until they hear the contender open his / her mouth and they go "oh my God, I don't like my guy but thie lefty idiot scares the hell out of me."

So keep on talking, that's all we ask. Keep on talking VERY LOUDLY about all of your great ideas and how well you guys ran the country in the past ...yes, keep saying it LOUDLY!

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 10:04 PM

"mainstream America elected George W. Bush President of the USA twice mostly because you guys cannot put up a candidate worth a squirt of piss and haven't for 31 years."

War Boy, I know Bush "won" the past two elections. I'm not saying that he didn't. But please answer me one question:

In 3 of the last 4 elections - yes, 3 of the last 4 - more people voted for which party? Democrat or Republican?

I eagerly await your reply. Thanks.

Posted by: maf53 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 6, 2006 10:21 PM

No surprises here. Impeachment is there only plan.

For anyone interested, I have posted a brief overview of confrontations between marines and insurgents within the city of Haditha. I spent the biggest part of 2005 in Haditha and I feel I can offer a pretty good view of the events.

Posted by: J. Morgan at June 6, 2006 11:56 PM

Yes Maf - Ignore Perot. More people voted against Democrats.....

Posted by: Kahn [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 12:24 AM

Matt, like Rush Limbaugh stated, it is going to take another 3 or 4 attacks on the US before it sinks into the liberals heads that we are at war. The fact that 17 terrorists arrested in Canada were planning a massive attack, means nothing to them. It makes the dems look ridiculus complaining about the NSA monitering bin ladens telephone calls.

Posted by: james allegro at June 7, 2006 01:22 AM

Yes Maf - Ignore Perot. More people voted against Democrats and even more voted against Republicans. You set yourself up for that one War Bonnet

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 01:49 AM

No surprises here. Impeachment is there only plan., except for Universal Health Care, getting us out of a quagmire in Iraq, rescinding tax breaks for the wealthiest 1%. Pretty sound and substantial platform I would think. (Esp. considering more of the same old)

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 01:52 AM

No actually Ash I didn't. If you're running on the record that you haven't been able to convince half the country in three decades to support your guy when Republicans have 4 times.

Wow, it must be sad that this is what you guys have to hang your hats on.

"Hey everybody, look at us...almost half the country believes in us...almost".

You guys are a juggernaut I tell ya. The swarms of the masses supporting you cannot be stopped.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 01:59 AM

This is truly hysterical. How can you attack the Democrats as impeachment-crazy after the Republicans' reckless push for impeachment during the Lewinsky debacle? The current administration outed a CIA operative, violated FISA, and invaded a foreign country on false pretenses. But these things aren't as important as perjury? About a blowjob?

Posted by: Michael at June 7, 2006 02:01 AM

When is the last time this country VOTED FOR Democrats to run this country by more than half...in other words, when is the last time more than half the people in this country didn't think you guys sucked ass?

1976 following Watergate and you barely won that time. Before that it was 1964. Man, you guys are just incredible.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 02:01 AM

Didn't mean to mix you up with Kahn. That was my error.

Impeach. After the investigations show how corrupt the administration is and how often they break the law, the majority of America will support kicking the bums to the street.

Posted by: axis [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 02:59 AM

Hey Axis....you've been ducking all day. Why did 17 Muslims say they hate Canada and hate Canadians? I thought that wasn't possible.

Ash...those are pretty numbers. What was the electoral count? You see here in this country that's how we elect Presidents. LOL Still bitter I see.

If it was a true national popularity election, then conservatives in states like California and New York would actually vote. Today many of them do not because they know their vote doesn't mean anything. So you can throw those popularity numbers up all day and all night.

And please, nominate Al Gore again...in fact a Gore / Kerry ticket would be spectacular. LOL

271 266 Still can't get over the fact that it's the Electoral College which elects the President. That's why you el cubos want to get rid of that.

And you never will, as long as your candidates keep LOSING.

Well Macker, if you had taken the time to understand my numbers in context of the discussion...well that is asking a tad too much.

-- Thats a great point, I guess it comes down the the fact that the conservatives don't care about illegal things being done, most of them are crooks in some way or another.

No, they care more about morals. The Republicized version of the bible makes it ok to lie, cheat and steal, but don't get an abortion, don't become gay and want to marry and don't get a BJ in the oval office, cause sex is dirty.

Posted by: axis [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 10:55 AM

Hey axis, it isn't illegal unless you get caught!

For all you conseratives the think the NSA program of monitering calls ,, who called who not the content and hence clain it all OK.,. I present you your worst fear.. Sen Hillary is elected Pres in 08.. finds out the telephone numbers of each local NRA office ...something anyone can do via google.. and asks the NSA for all the numbers that called those NRA offices,,,, still think it a good program!!!!!

Posted by: OhioGolfer [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 12:53 PM

Ash,

Why in the world would we want to rescind the "tax breaks" for richest 1% when those very tax breaks have proven to increase the percentage of the total income tax burden the "rich" bear and have proven to increase the tax revenues?

They already don't qualify for most, if not all, of the tax credits. So, basically, all you would do is increase their tax rate. So what will the "rich" do? Find other ways to shelter their income, earn less because there is a disincentive to earn more when the government takes a more signigicant share, and thus reduce the net tax revenue from the "rich".

All you want to do is punish the rich for being successful. But it won't work.

-- By all means, if its still unchallenged in 08, go gettum girl, lots of terrorists in the NRA for sure. Lots of republicans are potential terrorists too, since they don't think twice about breaking the law.

Find them terrorists hillary!

"50,456,002
50,999,897"

Ash... you do realize, don't you, that those are only the total of the votes counted, and that each state STOPS counting when the number of votes left to count is less than the number it would take to change the election? And, that always (or at least nearly always) happens before the absentee ballots from the military are factored in.

I'm not saying I know it would change who was on top and who wasn't, but the popular vote is never totally counted, so the figures you're throwing out there don't really mean anything.

Posted by: LNC at June 7, 2006 08:42 PM

Lots of terrorists in the NRA? Talk about a blanket statement.

Personally, I don't own a gun and will never. But I can read the Constitution and it says people have the right to them. Most members I know are some of the most law abiding people in this country.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 7, 2006 10:01 PM

warrior, I was being facetious. You guys are slow on the uptake on a lot of things, are you also from the hills like AAR is?

The point is that if you are ok with the spying and law breaking NOW, then whats good for the goose is good for the gander and you will also have to be ok with it when a Democrat assumes the oval office and starts using it against republican interests like Bush is doing now.

Posted by: axis [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 8, 2006 12:35 AM

I agree that the grounds for impeachment are much greater now than they were when the House voted to impeach Clinton. Bush has used executive privilege, a Republican majority in both houses , and claimed expansive powers granted during wartime to violate FISA. He's used signing statements 750 times to subvert the will of the legislature. No one has issued subpoenas to investigate how our country got involved in Iraq, the administration's biggest boondoggle. He's alienated Congress to the degree that even Republican Senator Specter got into a screaming match with V.P. Cheney, as Cheney refused to turn over documents relating to the administration data mining from phone company lists.

Bush would probably survive, as Clinton did, with the Senate voting down the measure. But at least it would serve as a warning against a power grab by his successors. In that vein, it would be worthy of trying.

Posted by: kritter at June 8, 2006 01:51 PM

OhioGolfer, the first thing Hillary would want to do is have the NSA monitor the phone calls her husband makes to all his friggin bimbos, then she would go after the NRA..After that she would have the entire 'vast right-wing conspiracy' people monitored so she could place them on her 'do not invite to the WH Christmas Party list. Hillary in '08..Hahaha...can't stop laughing. !
