Some on the left have suggested that Republicans have been avoiding Bush like the plague... and once again they are wrong... President Bush was just in Maryland "to boost the effort to give a second term in the Maryland governor's office to a Republican for the first time in half a century."
Maryland's GOP governor, Robert Ehrlich, faces a difficult re-election battle in November. The first Republican elected governor of this traditionally Democratic state in 38 years, he has two potentially strong Democratic challengers: Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley and Doug Duncan, county executive of Maryland's most populous county.
"Some people talk a good game," Bush said of Ehrlich before well-heeled supporters at a cocktail reception at an airport hotel. "This man has delivered."
The event raised $1 million for the state GOP.
Senate candidate Michael Steele wasn't at the event due to a previously scheduled fundraiser in Las Vegas.

"Senate candidate Michael Steele wasn't at the event due to a previously scheduled fundraiser in Las Vegas, Nevada"
What a surprise! Since Bush's support among black voters in Maryland is down into the single digits, of course Steele couldn't afford to be seen with him. It was no accident that he had a previous engagement.
Of course, anyone that followed the gubernatorial defeat of Jerry Kilgore has seen how well it works when Republican candidates take the cowardly approach----"oh I just can't make that fundraiser and stand next to my president-got an overdue library book"!
I doubt that Steele will have similar qualms in
taking any of that campaign cash-Bush still turns out the big corporate donors!

Are you saying if you are a Canadian you are wothless? Please clarify. Being the warm & loving American you are, I'm sure your comment was not intentional.

I think Warrior was clear; you're a Canadian, and Canadians don't mean anything to anyone. Are you having trouble with the English language?
You don't see us posting on insipid Canadian websites, oh yeah, eh?

I'm going to treat Axis like he treats us....the Golden Rule.
Or better yet, how he treats babies...I'm just going to abort him.

No Axis, that's not what I meant. You're the ugly girl at the party, the one no one wants to get a beer for and talk to. You're the gay male with a bunch of girls as friends...the girls like you because you're not threatening but they also know when they want a man you won't be it.
It just is what it is. You're a Canuck and a prickish one at that. There are many fine Canucks, you just aren't one of them.

-- No, actually I am an open minded decent person in a 1950's bar filled with southern racist hicks reminising about lynching the black man
On person can make a difference against bigotry and small mindedness. Not that I blame you, you were no doubt brought up to be bigots and small minded, you just don't know any better.
But, I'm ok with that, I tolerate your ignorance...I'm a liberal, thats what we do.
