Minorities Increase Share Of Second-Home Purchases In Growing U.S. Economy

Via The Wall Street Journal

...a new study on homeownership by the National Association of Realtors suggests that the benefits of recent economic growth have been more widespread than critics want to admit. We already knew that U.S. homeownership overall is at an all-time high of nearly 70%. The minority homeownership rate of 52% is also unprecedented. Now comes news that minorities are also increasing their share of second-home purchases.

President George W. Bush, the real first "black president".

Posted by: james allegro at May 26, 2006 08:46 PM

This can't be viewed as good news by Democrats.

If more blacks own homes, blacks might want to keep the money they earn and spend it on their own homes and other items of their choosing rather than giving it to the government in taxes.

Blacks might be more likely to vote for Republican -- to cut their taxes and increase economic growth -- than to vote for Democrats who want to increase their taxes!

Isn't that nice, now multiple unrelated poor people can all cram into a 2 bedroom house to call their own. Just like in India with 10 families in 1 house. Nice.

Blacks typically vote democratic because they remember being segregated, percecuted and marginalized by narrowminded people that believed ther were better than the blacks. They remember the black washrooms, the black water fountains, the moving to the back of the bus.

So they vote for the party LEAST likely to impose these on other groups or minorities, which are liberals or democrats. They see conservatives attacking the gays, abortion rights, civil rights.

They surely are not going to sell their values down the river for $20 bucks back on their tax return.

AAR, hopefully more African Americans will continue to slowly leave the dem plantation and come back to the party of emancipation. The dems biggest fear is black while conservative. If the dems continue to try and lynch conservative minorities, they will lose the minority vote.

axis,

Such a warped and defeatist view -- typical liberal viewpoint!

Don't you ever have a positive comment to say about anything?

Yes, let's remember the past and concentrate on what was, rather than looking toward the future and what they could have. That's what Democrats want. How could blacks be expected to forget about what was... the Democrats won't let them... that doesn't "suit" the Democrat's purpose. Why don't we go back through history and look at the lives of other people as well? Because those serve no purpose to Democrats either.

The fact is, Democrats want to keep blacks on welfare and want to make every issue a racist issue and want to make the blacks feel inferior -- that's where they get their votes! That's why "racist" and "racism" are tops on their list of their "short hand" words we hear applied to everything to shut off discussions that have nothing to do with racial discrimination!

How about providing more training and finding jobs for all those people on welfare? That's the way to improve their lives ...not by increasing welfare payments ...not by keeping families on welfare for generation after generation!

We have millions of people on welfare. We have millions of jobs that "Americans won't do". Illegal immigrants aren't just coming to America to get low paid farm jobs. Many are coming here to get good paying jobs. I hear about them all the time. I see "help wanted" signs everywhere I go and see classified ads for jobs in the papers. Let's help get the people off of welfare; let's help get them to earning a living; let's get them contributing to the economy rather that draining from it; let's help them buy their own house.

Let's quit hearing "more welfare" from the Democrats and start hearing about efforts to get the people off of welfare!

-- Absolutely, unfortunately this is just a very negative time for America. Eventually that will all work itself out however.

The fact is, Democrats want to keep blacks on welfare and want to make every issue a racist issue and want to make the blacks feel inferior -- that's where they get their votes!

-- And you came up with this idea based on what exactly? It is indeed the conservatives that have made it more difficult to go from poor to well off than any time in the past 30 years. And its not just the blacks, but rather the middle class that they would seek to have crushed.

How about providing more training and finding jobs for all those people on welfare? That's the way to improve their lives ...not by increasing welfare payments ...not by keeping families on welfare for generation after generation!

-- Ok, but how? GOP has struck down every democrat sponsored bill in the past 5 years for fear that it will work and the democrats will get the credit. I don't see the GOP helping to get these people off welfare. Instead they are taking shelters and trailers away from hurricane victims and leaving them homeless.

We have millions of people on welfare. We have millions of jobs that "Americans won't do". Illegal immigrants aren't just coming to America to get low paid farm jobs. Many are coming here to get good paying jobs.

-- True, time to start nailing employers that hire illegals rather than giving them an endless supply of slave labour. NAFTA was a democrat screwup that contributed to this and GOP finished it by allowing employers to continue hiring these people

We democrats could not get a bill passed if our lives depended on it, so lets see what the GOP does in their time left in congress shall we? Somehow I suspect there wont be a heck of a lot of progress from your party either.

axis,

Perhaps you can enlighten us on the details of your proposal.

The Democrats won't even support school vouchers which would allow black parents to place their children in schools of their own choosing to get the best education for their children. What's so wrong with allowing blacks and other parents who cannot afford private schooling to place their children in the better schools?

As to whatever bills you say you can't get passed... perhaps they are just more welfare. Perhaps they should not be passed at all.

My point is that this is a problem in which neither side in taking an interest in.

No money or earmarks or bribes coming in on behalf on the poor these days, so it becomes a non-issue. Sick when democracy slides into such a decline where congress is for sale to the highest bidder, and thats on both sides of the fence.
