Matt,
When you refer in your conclusion to your plan to "finish the job" in 2007 I assume you mean completing the destruction that Bush and the GOP majority hath wrought on our country and to our status as a moral and political force around the world. That would be savage indeed, and given that ordinary Americans are the people for whom the GOP savagery has had by far the greatest negative impact, perhaps you had best tone down your gleeful celebrating and gratuitous cheerleading a bit.
Just a thought. Have a nice day!

Yes, we wouldn't want to pesky democrats to bring in a balance of power, proper congressional oversigh and investigations to prevent government corruption and illegal acts against the citizens.
As far as immigration, 5 years in office, 12 years in congress and now 3 months away from the primaries and suddenly the GOP is alive to an immigration problem that has been there for 12 years+??
GOPs dont NOTHING to solve immigration, a month after the midterms, it will be a dead issue until they need to throw you a bone for the next election.
Heres an example of the Republicans hard at work:
http://www.knx1070.com/pages/38156.php
Alberto Gonzalex is going to start imprisoning reporters that report on any more of the Bush crime families dirty little classified secrets.
Digging up a 1917 espionage law thats NEVER been used against reporters or intended to be used as such, he will jail reporters reporting on anything considered classified regardless of if the reporter knew it was classified or not.
Strike another one for fascist america. The first ammendment is now dead, along with the forth.
Freedom of the press is now dead as far as this administration is concerned.
Bush was also recently quoted as referring to the U.S. Constitution as "That damn piece of paper"

You know passing legislation similar to that already passed by the House would help Republicans in November. Plus, it would have the bonus of being the legislation that most American citizens support.
It's my guess, based on a wealth of polling that it's not just some conservatives who won't like S. 2611, but an overwhelming majority of U.S. Citizens, voters and taxpayers. Apparently, many in the media feel we elected our Senators to do our thinking for us, and not just to represent our views, values, and interests. Seems to me, that if we are still operating on the premise that America is a democracy, and the majority of American citizens support enforcement only immigration reform, then the Senate has a duty to implement an enforcement only approach to immigration reform. Our representative form of government benefits no one if those in the Senate willfully usurp the will of the people!

Axis,
How can you even breathe, you are so filled with hatred of Bush and hatred of America?
Alberto Gonzalez is protecting Americans every day, watching over them constantly as a mother watches over her children, and you want to stop him? Who are you to leave America defenseless? Oh, yeah, you're the guy that hates America and all Americans stand for.
As for Michael Savage, I agree with him all the way. We conservatives brought in this Congress and this President, and paid pretty heavily, and we demand our money's worth or we'll throw the bums out.
I love Mr. Bush, but really, if he's going to let in every lowlife south of the border and give them the food out my kids mouths, and the bed my mother sleeps in at the shelter, forget about it. Thank God my children go to a fine Christian school so they won't be forced to learn Mexican just to answer roll call.
God Bless America.

I base this on nothing more than my own observations so don’t accuse me of generalizing about anyone but it but it seems this issue has brought some ugly aspects of human nature. The author of this blogs approach to the immigration debate is realistic; unfortunately I think he is in the minority for your party. Check out the majority of other rightwing blogs (with the exception of you and Right Wing Nut House) and you will see zero flexibility on the issue; it is not debated at all, just calls for mass deportation / imprisonment. I know comment sections are for trolls but next time a rightwing blog posts an anti-immigration rant check the comment section – lots of blatant racism from what are the base of your party. Many of my coworkers are ardent Bush supporters and life long Republicans; I have enjoyed arguing with them for years now but for the first time they don’t even bother to debate instead framing there opinion with simple (and often wrong) statements ‘Why don’t we deport all the Mexicans and make the people on welfare do their jobs!’ ‘They all play soccer; why don’t they deploy the national guard to soccer stadiums with orders to shoot’ ‘I won’t let my kids watch Dora the Explorer; since when did we teach American kids Spanish’ – The last one is my favorite; anyone here have to have take a foreign language to graduate high school? If Bush supporters don’t get behind the president on this issue not only will Republicans catch the blame for a problem they inherited but might end up being painted as a party of white supremacists
Posted by: aric at May 23, 2006 02:33 PM
Considering that the Republicans waited until a highly contested election year to work on immigration reform, I doubt that a continuing Republican majority won't have that much effect on border security. That is entirely based on past actions though, but that seems to be where Republicans like their heads... in the past.

So many people I know voted republican because, "republicans are for balanced budgets and small goverment". They all feel scammed now. Theese guys currently in the goverment are all idiots. We have more federal spending then ever before. We have increased the debt more than all our previous debt combined. We are torturing and killing people. Now george bush can hold american civilians as enemy combatents ( joseph padilla ) and spy on americans. You cannot listen to what theese guys say you have to look at what they do. Theese are not conservative virtues. Vote the bums out!!
Posted by: ray at May 23, 2006 02:55 PM
Whats really sad is that all they would have to do is start enforcing the current laws and actually going after those who hire illegals and the problem would be solved. But that would also be going after the guys giving campaign contributions. So lets spend even more billions on a wall and national guard etc.. The republicans have been in charge of every branch of the goverment for over 6 years now. What have they been doing this entire time. If they want to pass legislation all they have to do is write it up and send it to the president to sign and its done.

Frawg,
Considering the democrats did nothing on immigration reform after controlling the Congress for forty years, I don't see where they have any authority on this subject.
Mr. Bush has been consistent on his guest worker program; I disagree with the amnesty portion of that proposal, but at least we have a debate and the chance something will be done with the border.
Now, if we can just shut the northern border down so the know-nothing Canuckleheads will stay out of our business. Cowards and liars every one of them. Ever notice how they cling to our border for protection? The entire population clings to within 100 miles for fear of actually having to protect themselves.

Conservative to the core,
Wake up, Gonzalez is bush's personal lawyer and is only interested in protecting the administration, not you or the rest of the people. Spying on reporters and jailing them for revealing government corruption and illegal acts is your idea of "protecting the people"??
He now admits that his grandmother came here illegally.
Gonzalez is right now working on getting around the posse comitatus act to allow bush to sent us troops into american cities against americans anytime he wants to.
That act was specificially created after the civil war to prevent us troops from being used against its citizens.
It will also open the door to bush being allowed to declare martial law and suspend all civil liberities and constitutional rights if he wants to.
Face it, this is a corrupt government. Mexico has a more honest one that this administration.
Absolute power corrupts, does not matter if it is a right wing or left wing, without a balance of power, it always goes too far and leads to corruption. History shows us that time and time again without fail.

Canadian liberals know all about scandals, David Basi and Bob Virk were key players in B.C.'s Liberal government with strong ties to the Prime Minister. They're not just influence peddling liberals; they're involved with drug smuggling, child pornography, and this goes right up to the top of the now discredited liberal government.
I also find it interesting that 77% of Canadians believe the new conservative government will do a better job with the economy than the liberals did.
While little assis is lecturing the real Americans about corruption, his own country has seen the effects of liberalism run amuck.
Maybe assis should go back to his losing liberal agenda in Canada and let the adults discuss things here.

You shouldn't be so sensitive. We express our opinions on US policy because we care about our American neighbors. It hurts us to see you all in such distress. Hopefully, that will change soon and you will regain the credibility you have lost under Bush, and America will achieve greatness once more.
Were the Canadian troops who were killed by American friendly fire under US command in Afghanistan?
The population hugs the border due more to climate and economic considerations than to be under US protection.
Name calling, as in, "scary little loser" lessens
any reasonable argument you may want to present.

See, that is the problem with these liberals. You make a simple observation and they rant and scream and cry like you drove a nail through their foot.
I think Mr. Gonzalez should be proud of his grandmother, and you ought to be ashamed of yourself, attacking her as you do.
About your ravings about Bush sending the military into U.S. cities, I'd like to see your evidence.
And look to a liberal to hide behind some outdated law that clearly needs to be repealed or ignored as a quaint leftover of a bygone era.
Start making sense, axis, and let go of this blind hatred of America.

Not sure of the origin of this quote, (I was reminded of it while watching MI3 this weekend) - You can tell a lot about a person's character by observing how they treat people that they aren't required to treat nicely.
People who hate illigal immigrants to the point of obsession, in my mind, suffer from the worst sort of inferiority complex. The have a deep need to look down on somebody else and treat them badly because of their low self esteem. White trash and racism comes to mind.
For those of you who are completely intolerant of any sort of path to citzenship - earned, fined, postponed or whatever, consider this analogy: Imagine you owned a jewelry store in a bad neighborhood and you left the doors unlocked every night. And every night, some poor folks from the bad neighborhood would sneak in and take your jewerly. And every morning when the police come, you would launch into a tirade about the immorality of the poor folks that took your stuff and about the injustice of the system that never catches them and puts them in jail.
What you fail to see, is that you are a large part of the problem by leaving your store open, just as America is partly at fault for leaving their border with a poor country relatively open and doing nothing about the illigal labor trade. Does that mean the illegal border crossers are not breaking the law? No. But it's enough culpability to open yourselves up just a teeny bit to the idea of an earned path to citizenship.
You have no obligation whatsoever to extend any kindness to illegal immigrants. You can say whatever hateful things you want - even the PC police will give you a pass on this one. What you choose to say however, and advocate in terms of solutions to resident illegals, will say a lot about your character.
Posted by: extramedium at May 23, 2006 06:52 PM
extra,
Your analogy is flawed; the victim here is the US. By your logic the woman in the short dress deserves to be raped; I deserve to have my watch stolen because I wore it in front of a person with no watch.
We put locks on doors to let people know that behind that door is property that doesn’t belong to anyone; the illegals have to break the law to get here, period.

This, and his constant Bush-bashing, was what cooled my interest as well. I've read his first two political books, and am working on his third, but I rarely listen in. When I do, all it takes is some of his extreme rhetoric, and I'm gone.
You have no obligation whatsoever to extend any kindness to illegal immigrants.
You, medium-rare, have no obligation whatsoever to learn how to write. However, you may find that a well-written post can be more persuasive than the tripe you try to pass off. Proofread your work, jerk! Some of your too-long posts are bloody appalling; a four-year old could do better.

Rathaven,
I might remind your polling numbers that the new conservative government has
A) Only been in power since January and only actually been in parliament for a couple months. The big red machine liberals were solidly in power for 12 years. After 12 years, most canadians wanted a change more than simply wanting a conservative in power. Let's see what the numbers look like in a year. Canada has historically been leftward leaning. Even the past conservative governments have been progressive conservatives and leant much more to the left than this one.
B) The current conservative government is kept SOLIDLY in check because they are in power with a slim minority. If they step too far out of line, the liberals and the NDP or the Bloc can easily oust them thru a vote of no confidence, triggering a new election.
Harper is the most right wing conservative that canada has ever seen in power and he is much like Bush, an evangelical, but knows that Canadians are far more leftward leaning and won't tolerate radical right wing governance, so he is treading very lightly until he can secure a majority.
Personally, I think the big red machine will get back on the feet with a new face and will offer serious resistance to the conservative next go round. I also wonder how long harper can resist from trying to stick us with his right wing ideas.
Sooner or later he will slip up and it will cost him dearly.
For now, yes I am satisfied of what they have accomplished so far, but keeping a watchful eye on him.

Anyone know what rock axix crawled out from under? He is probably Ranty Rhodes, writing under a pretty appropriate name. Because I know a couple of Airhead America devotees, who spout the exact same crapola at the exact same time ole' axis there is getting his marching orders, and as no one else in the country is so insane, it has to come from that source. I just heard the martial law thing a few days ago, and here is axis, drooling out the same old talking points. The thing about being a hard-core lefty is, truth don't matter. You just pull something out of....your left ear....and say it, and it's almost as if it were true. Close enough for a lefty, anyway.
They have to be absolutely exhausted, what with all that conclusion-jumping and hysteria and inventing and outraging and so on. But try, just try, to convince them that life is much better when they take deep breahs, substitute thinking for emoting, stop licking the boots of cynical demagogues like Rhodes who really don't believe what they feed the gullible but get paid well to convert them, and join the real world, where tinfoil hats are not mandatory. But they are the converted, the new religion, the devout devotees to a belief system, the ardent followers of their own High Priests, and they get more satisfaction from their self-perceived superiority than they ever could from mere facts.
O have already mentioned my theory that we tend ot choose belief systems that reflecdt our inner selves---that kind, loving, generous people believe in a kind, loving, generous God, while uptight righteous domineering types go for a God of wrath and vengeance. I have always thought you could see into a man's soul by examining his belief system. But I choose not to even peek at the souls of those who are so filled with hatred and bile that they have to seek out and adopt a belief system which depends, in its entirety, on irrational loathing and vicious paranoia. That is a dark and dismal place, and they are welcome to it. They have finally found a place where they fit in, after being on the outside looking in for their entire lives, and if that means wallowing in intellectual filth, so be it. It's a small price to pay to finally belong, to something, no matter how nasty that something is.
Posted by: Almiranta at May 24, 2006 09:47 AM
BTW, I lump Savage in with other demagogues. There are those who present their views, and information, in a calm, rational, way, and there are those who depend on emotion to sway people. I personally don't like the latter.
While I don't quibble with the actual information Rush puts our, I do have a problem with his dependence on emotional manipulation to sway opinion. Savage is far worse. Between the overwheming ego and the incitement to emotional response, I find him distasteful---for exactly the same reasons I can't stand Air America blowhards. Demagoguery is demagoguery, on either side of the aisle.

Canada's not perfect, has a lot of flaws same are the US.
I will say, I would rather have that "second rate" universal health care that covers everyone equally, rich and poor than to have the elitest one you americans have where 40 million of you are not covered and cannot afford healt insurance so they have to pray they dont get sick. Or the seniors that have a heart attack and are hospitalized for a could weeks and then have to declare bankruptcy because they can't afford the $250 000 hospital bill. On this, you are simply upset because we have a functional health care system, as do many countries in the world, yet the richest country in the world does not.
While some things in our culture are based on american models, most are not and we take a sovereign approach to most things. This is why you can walk down the street in our largest city in the dead of night and not worry about being gunned down or murdered.
The liberals are not responsible for the high gas taxes, those were actually jacked by the previous government, the progressive conservatives. As was the GST, the conservatives. As were the high taxes, the conservatives. This is because they spent, spent, spent without any responsibility and finally had to jack taxes to pay for it all.
Our BC government here under the liberals is doing great, especially compared to the center to right NDP party, which was mired in every kind of corruption and incompetance you could imagine.
Funny you mention afganistan, you know that country that actually attacked america and the one that you pretty much forgot all about when going into Iraq. Canadians are over there dying because they attacked you, not use dummy, as are coolition forces from other nations. You should be thankful that we are covering your butt because thats a war you might have actually been able to win, but you pulled out instead.
Now, have yourself a little nappy and maybe have mommy read you a bed time story and see you later

Terrorists are not given a free pass in Canada. The men who carried out the horror of 9-11 were all living in the USA. They did not come from Canada. However, we do welcome all peace-loving peoples, whether they come from the USA or other nations. If you can contribute to the richness of our society, we welcome you. Canada is a nation of diversity, where one is free to honor his or her own culture.
I do not appreciate your derogatory remarks of a great and respected country. Our external policies hurt no one and help many. With the passage of time and a new administration you may be in the same position. I hope for the best for you and your countrymen

A “sovereign approach”? You don’t even have a real culture; you stole French and British cultures and never had the cajones to separate yourselves from your European masters.
Most your your culture comes from your former british masters moron, including your "official language"
A typical ignorant attitude. Just because we didn't have a civil war against the British and preferred to remain a british commonwealth country means diddly-squat.
BTW: I guess there are over 53 current commonwealth countries around the world that also "don't have real cultures and are just stolen from the british"
Speak of what you know rathaven it will make you look less ignorant and unintelligent

The only time I’ve been embarrassed in Europe is when some German clown mistook me for Canadian and started speaking French to me.
-- Why don't you try going there NOW and see how many people pick up stones.?
How dare you, you, supposed allies stabbing the US in the back giving terrorists a free pass through our border,
--Thats a good one, we are letting terrorist go through YOUR border huh? Time to take another one of your smart pills, the effects are wearing off.
Right, liberals are doing just fine in BC! "David Basi and Bob Virk were key players in B.C.'s Liberal government with strong ties to the Prime Minister."

Republicans are doing fine? Libby and Rove the highest ranking white house officials EVER to be indicted. Rove has been indicted BTW: its just been sealed for the moment.
giving sanctuary to the cowards that desert our military
-- They are asking for sanctuary not because they are cowards, but because they want no part of what the military is doing to innocent iraqis. They signed up to protect your country, that is not what the troops are doing over there.

Rathaven,
What venom and hatred you show towards a country that hosted your ass for 3 years.
Clearly you were caught doing something you should not have and got your ass deported, thats the only explanation for it.

As for the illegal immigration mess we have on our hands, Michael Savage explains it the way it really is without worrying about being politically correct. This is a MEXICAN INVASION. Even General Vincente Fox is over here to oversee his "troops" in the trenches. Let's IMPEACH the person who is truly at fault for not following his oath of office which included securing our borders. Guess who that person is.........

Well CO,
I do not appreceiate your inflammitory remarks about my country!
"When the US has its' nose in the politics of other nations and sends the military uninvited "
"Bush used that fear to further his own goals"
And insulting our military,
"Since Clinton passed on Bin Laden three times, when can we expect Bush to keep his promise of
bringing him in "dead or alive"? lot of water has passed under the bridge since he uttered those words. What's taking so long?"
And that's just in the last week.

You will notice in the questions I asked, there was no name calling or aspersions as to your character. Sorry if you found the questions out of order. My remarks were to the inadequacies of the Bush administration, not the military or the good people of the United States.

I got sick and tired of the fact that Michael Savage can't go 60 seconds without calling someone an idiot/moron/traior/scumbag/bastard. He and Randi Rhodes must be related somehow. I refuse to listen to him anymore.

Canadian Observer, Frawg, Axis:
You have to forgive the likes of keefer and rathaven. They clearly suffer from mental disorder, like their master and inspirational leader Michael Savage (not his real name, but quite accurate nonetheless). They are blinded by hate and are not capable of rational thought or discussion. They can only hurl vitriol at their opponents, unable to fathom the concept of free exchange of ideas and honest debate.
Unfortunately, your well thought out posts only serve to enrage them and "feed the trolls".
Posted by: cookiecorp at May 26, 2006 02:03 PM
Is this your idea of rational thought and discussion?
"Despite the mindless propaganda of Mark Noonan, A-10 and others here ..."
"The claims that Bush made about tons of chemical and biological weapons were simply false. Anybody with half a brain knows we were lied to. Period, end of story."
"There were U.N. inspectors on the ground, and they found nothing. Many other administration claims were simply outright lies.
The truth is that OBL and Saddam hated each other, and OBL offered to help overthrow Saddam during the first gulf war, when he was on our side in Afghanistan.
And every day, more rats are jumping ship as the U.S.S Bushlie sinks ever deeper into the muck
If you want hate, hellfire and promotion of violence against political opponents, you've most likely been listening to the likes of Michael Savage or Ann Coulter."
Rath and keef make more sense, at least they have
facts to support their contentions. Not mindless liberal talking points and outright lies.

Did I forget this example of a liberal's "rational thought and discussion"?
"AAR, go back on your meds....you are a sick pathetic loser who gets self-validation only when you attack someone else who is smarter than yourself."
Real nice to see you practice what you preach, hypocrite!
Posted by: Bane of Liberals' Existence at May 26, 2006 04:34 PM
Matt,
When you refer in your conclusion to your plan to "finish the job" in 2007 I assume you mean completing the destruction that Bush and the GOP majority hath wrought on our country and to our status as a moral and political force around the world.
Macker, here you are:
http://colorado.indymedia.org/newswire/display/12159/index.php
Assis is a raving lunitic!
No wonder Canada's troops have to be put under US command when they go to a war zone. You're a scary little loser!
Rathaven
You shouldn't be so sensitive. We express our opinions on US policy because we care about our American neighbors. It hurts us to see you all in such distress. Hopefully, that will change soon and you will regain the credibility you have lost under Bush, and America will achieve greatness once more.
Were the Canadian troops who were killed by American friendly fire under US command in Afghanistan?
The population hugs the border due more to climate and economic considerations than to be under US protection.
Name calling, as in, "scary little loser" lessens
any reasonable argument you may want to present.
Canada is your friend & neighbor and as such we just want to see this mess cleaned up.
My Lord, axis, calm down. Your "response" to my calm comments re: Alberto Gonzalez are so seething with anger and hatred. Just relax, we're just talking.
What you choose to say however, and advocate in terms of solutions to resident illegals, will say a lot about your character.
extra,
Your analogy is flawed; the victim here is the US. By your logic the woman in the short dress deserves to be raped; I deserve to have my watch stolen because I wore it in front of a person with no watch.
We put locks on doors to let people know that behind that door is property that doesn’t belong to anyone; the illegals have to break the law to get here, period.
...but that seems to be where Republicans like their heads... in the past.
And Georgia Frawg likes his head...up his a**. Don'cha, Frawgie?
Probably what ended it for me was his pompous claim that he was responsible for Bush getting reelected.
And I ain't referring to typos, misspelling, or slang terms, either...
keefer - you have demonstrated countless times that your skills at proof reading are unmatched. If I am ever in need of a good administrative assistant, you will be the first one I will call.
I think his books got progressively worse. I used to listen to him, but no more. Too depressing. Too much anger.
Enforcement first. Pass the House bill. Build the wall. Then we'll talk about the rest.
Can't stand Savage - he's a cartoon character, the gift that keeps giving to haters like axis.
Even when he's right on policy, he makes no effort to persuade - his approach is to attempt to bludgeon the audience into "agreement".
There is a common misconception that I encounter almost every time I post on this site. That misconception is: if you are not a republican, you are a democrat.
Personally, I think both parties are full of morons. I don't think that Democrats would do anything either if there wasn't this public outcry. The fact that Congress waited until an election year to act speaks volumes.
Let's clean house and just vote out all of the incumbents.
Canadian buttinski,
Yeah, right!
Your liberalism has been discredited in your own country, that's why 77% of Canadians think your economy will be better off with the conservative government you elected. THAT'S WHY THE LIBERAL PARTY IS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR MONEY LAUNDERING, ORGANIZED CRIME AND INFLUENCE PEDDLING in BC, just like the liberals here, corruption goes all the way to the top of the Liberal Party, crooks.
You're pretty mouthy for a British Colony! Still got pictures of Her Highness on your money?
How does anyone listen to that garbage, Michael Savage, let alone find common ground with a mainstream white superemisist like him?
Rathaven,
I might remind your polling numbers that the new conservative government has
A) Only been in power since January and only actually been in parliament for a couple months.
Canada is your friend & neighbor and as such we just want to see this mess cleaned up.
Clean your own mess up first, dopehead, and mind your own business. Nobody's buying your stupidity. Go ride that horse with no name; we'll see you when you crash...
For now, yes I am satisfied of what they have accomplished so far, but keeping a watchful eye on him.
As if he's gotta worry about little ol' axis of dumbassery, who can't write a coherent post. Why don't you send him a letter, assis; maybe he needs a few laughs.
Do you frequent the shooting galleries with Observer?
Demagoguery is demagoguery, on either side of the aisle.
keefer
When the US has its' nose in the politics of other nations and sends the military uninvited I guess in your eyes that is legit. When a friend and neighbor expresses concern with no other objective other than love for that neighbor, you object. Why is that, keefer?
Canadian Fools,

Funny how everytime she appears on CNN or hardball, they put on 2 or more conservatives to debunk here and she always makes mincemeat out of them. Same will Al Franken and O'Reilley. O'Reilly won't debate Franken anymore because he gets creamed everytime.

Where is your love & compassion for your fellowmen? I don't understand your hostility toward a peaceful nation like Canada. As I have said previously, we wish you no ill will and would only expect the same from you. Do you think Jesus would be happy with your attitude?
Savage, Moore, Limbaugh, Randi Rhodes, Fraknkin are all extremists in my book.
Each one of them takes any comment made by anyone and immediately distills it into "he is on my side or he is on the other side." There is not discourse, no exchange of ideas only a one way street and that street is named blather.
Until each side hears each other and we as voters get to pick and choose the best from both worlds we have what we have today - A divided nation going no where.
I'm a Jew, moron!
I spent three long years in your socialist paradise, second-rate health services, ineffective government agencies, cumbersome multilingual nonsense, Canadians mimicking everything the Real Americans do, but doing it badly. Now you pathetic turds have screwed up your liberal wasteland and you want to infect the Real Americans with your disease, go tell it to the criminals in BC government, go tell the discredited liberals that are responsible for your 35% taxes on gasoline.
The corruption in Canada’s pathetic little insignificant government is so rampant, why aren’t you loser canucks doing something about that? If the Real Americans paid any attention to your USA-Lite, they would be appaled at what passes for compassion; has the government decided your grandmother isn’t worth treating yet? Just wait, they will.
You shame the few brave Canadians that are serving in Afghanistan (under American Commanders). Send them an apology and stay out of our business.
Assis, you are typical of the stoned canucks I met; so tied up in your jealousy of Real Americans that you have to make up crap; “Rumfeld a military wannbe that couldn't server cause he was too feeble” If your moonbat fevered mind ever got one fact right the entire internet will faint dead away. You sound angry. Take a valium, take long, deep breaths, close your eyes and have a little nappy.

Jesus was a Jew, also. We are all brothers & sisters under God. Being a Liberal, I recognize all religions, and being of a Buddhist nature, I admire those who follow a peaceful path. That is why I am proud to know wherever I travel throughout the world, I do not have to hide my Canadian idenity.
All Canadians support our brave troops serving in Afghanistan and hope there will be no more deaths due to American friendly fire. To lose a soldier in combat is heartbreaking but to be killed by your allies is unfathomable.
assis,
A “sovereign approach”? You don’t even have a real culture; you stole French and British cultures and never had the cajones to separate yourselves from your European masters.
Canada, all the attitude of France and none of the scenery!
Right, liberals are doing just fine in BC! "David Basi and Bob Virk were key players in B.C.'s Liberal government with strong ties to the Prime Minister." this is a Canadian’s idea of doing fine, RCMP raiding the office of corrupt brother-in-law political hacks, with ties to organized crime, and you lecture us on politics!
And when did Afghanistan attack America? You are the most ill-informed whack-job I’ve ever read. Long on alligations, short on facts.
Hypocrite CO,
You’re not hiding your Canadian identity? Are you inferring I hide my identity? Awful judgmental for a Buddhist. Sell your Kum-bye-ya crap somewhere else.
The only time I’ve been embarrassed in Europe is when some German clown mistook me for Canadian and started speaking French to me. I answered in French, then German. He apologized, and well he should!
Friendly fire? War is a dirty business, accidents happen; do you expect guarantees like Shipley? How dare you, you, supposed allies stabbing the US in the back giving terrorists a free pass through our border, then giving sanctuary to the cowards that desert our military. I’ve got a pamphlet for you to read; Canadian war heroes it’s short, only about three pages, triple spaced, with pictures.
Rathaven
No, I am not inferring that you hide your nationality when travelling abroad. Your pride in America shines clear & bright.
There are other Americans, however, who are not as proud of where the country has gone since Bush has been in office.
I hope for the best for you and your countrymen.

-- Yup, now they are in court trying to keep themselves out of jail.
And insulting our military,
And that's just in the last week.
Rathaven
You will notice in the questions I asked, there was no name calling or aspersions as to your character. Sorry if you found the questions out of order. My remarks were to the inadequacies of the Bush administration, not the military or the good people of the United States.
I got sick and tired of the fact that Michael Savage can't go 60 seconds without calling someone an idiot/moron/traior/scumbag/bastard. He and Randi Rhodes must be related somehow. I refuse to listen to him anymore.

-- Sounds just like Rush/O'Reilley/Hannity/Colter and the rest of the right wing talking heads.
Savage must have contracted whatever it is that they have
Canadian Observer, Frawg, Axis:
You have to forgive the likes of keefer and rathaven. They clearly suffer from mental disorder, like their master and inspirational leader Michael Savage (not his real name, but quite accurate nonetheless). They are blinded by hate and are not capable of rational thought or discussion. They can only hurl vitriol at their opponents, unable to fathom the concept of free exchange of ideas and honest debate.
Unfortunately, your well thought out posts only serve to enrage them and "feed the trolls".
Is this your idea of rational thought and discussion?
Rath and keef make more sense, at least they have
facts to support their contentions. Not mindless liberal talking points and outright lies.
Did I forget this example of a liberal's "rational thought and discussion"?
"AAR, go back on your meds....you are a sick pathetic loser who gets self-validation only when you attack someone else who is smarter than yourself."
Real nice to see you practice what you preach, hypocrite!
