You know, I've heard for years now that the R in Republican stood for Racist. I think this just goes to show you that some people who like to throw the R word around to one party should look to their own too.
This is good news for Ohio from what I've read. Also... I'm curious to see how Maryland (I believe that's where both parties' lead candidates are African-American.

I think it's time that we call B.S. to those who say token anymore.

Gee, another ethically challenged Republican nominee.

No surprise.

OHIO GOVERNOR Democratic Primary
9891 precincts of 11285 reporting Ted Strickland 498,942 80% (W)
Bryan Flannery 126,401 20%

OHIO GOVERNOR GOP Primary
9574Mprecincts of 11285 reporting Ken Blackwell 388,087 57% (W)
Jim Petro 298,382 43%

Take a look at the bolds that I did Blackwell has a a lot less precincts reporting but has about an 80,000 vote lead if you combine all the Dems and all the GOP Blackwell will be our new Governor here in Buckeye land

what does the D in Democrat stand for?

Dumbass?

*Shrugs*

Woo hoo, someone won a primary. Woop de do.

This really shouldn't matter to those outside of Ohio because it SHOULD just have been a competition between to canidates. Though folks have to notice someone's race every time.

*Sighs*

Eventually the news that someone is a "Black Govenor" or a "Black Republican" or what have you won't matter as much as someone is a Republican or a Democrat. Heck just knowing they're a politician should be all that one needs to know.

Did any of the liberals throw Oreo cookies at him or claim he was just an Uncle Tom? Wait, that's in Maryland but I'm sure that's coming next for the race in Ohio.

I'm an indie who voted W in 04 - one of the 60k who defeated the loony left.

I'm weary of one party rule both at state & federal level. I still do NOT trust govt that much. I desire checks & balance.

I'm voting Strickland(D), who's a methodist minister, in the fall.

time for a change.

No, that's the "W" in "W-04", it stands for 'Dumbya'

I think Republicans should search out, encourage, and support good conservative black and Hispanic candidates throughout the U.S. We need ones who are well qualified, well educated, who are good and effective speakers, and who will make good role models for others -- not just someone who is black or Hispanic.

Once enough of them start speaking out, blacks and Hispanics will start to listen and begin to see that Democrats do not have their best interests in mind... only their vote.

Right now, blacks and Hispanics have been brainwashed by the Dims to believe that Democrats are looking out for them. They need help with job training and finding good jobs -- not promises of more welfare. They need to be contribute to the economy and taxes -- not be a burden on or recipient of them. Many more could then enjoy the American dream!

Eventually, more will begin to switch over if Republicans and conservatives can get their message across. I think many are more conservative than the Dims would like to believe -- publicly at least.

I don't feel Blackwell will defeat (D)Strickland in the fall.

Too many scandals involving the GOP controlled state govt - some historic - including a sitting gov'ner pleading to criminal charges.

Besides, I for one don't trust govt & desire some check & balance both at the state & federal level.

Blackwell

Isn't this the guy that said he was against abortion even if the mothers life was at stake?

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2006 06:12 PM

Define "mother's life at stake"

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2006 06:49 PM

uh, the mothers going to die if the baby isn't aborted.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2006 07:12 PM

Strickland will not beat Blackwell . did not know S was a Methodist minister..heck, now I won't vote for him for sure.Lol!!!.I'm a Methodist..and they are about as liberal as you can get around here.
Gov. Ken Blackwell..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Xango Annie at May 3, 2006 08:18 PM

And this happens how often Ash? Almost never. In fact some doctors will tell you it NEVER has to happen.

Posted by: Warriornation [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 3, 2006 08:46 PM

That doesn't excuse it when it does happen.

Posted by: Ash [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 4, 2006 12:38 AM

Maybe, perhaps, Mr. Blackwell was pandering for votes with his Fundamentalist base? I mean like if it never happens why would he become the only politician ever to go that far?
